I actually really love how you went from body building and heavy lifting and being huge, to doing marathons and solely focusing on endurance and running. Those two typically don’t run together and you’re going from one to another, having gotten good at both. That’s respectable

Although I won't be purchasing it, I hope it finds success and the people who buy it improve their lives with it.
Hi nick just subscribed to your youtube channel cause anytime I type in triathlon your channel keep coming up. So loved your videos and subscribed so keep making great videos all best.
Great diet man! Best part is the sauce because flavor is everything! I like both the hot sauce and Greek yogurt ranch! Stay safe, strong and keep on grindin 💪💯
For those saying he's not eating enough, he had well over 3000 cal that day. The dude is 200 lb of lean muscle and does hardcore endurance training on a daily basis, so he needs every bit of those calories. BUT if any average person working a desk job ate this much, they would definitely gain some weight... Watch what y'all eat, research has shown that even professional dietitians underestimate their calorie consumption by an average of ~10%
When I was an endurance athlete.BTW that ended last year. I pretty much ate what I wanted as I had some long training weeks that needed fueling. I did stick to a lot of carbs mainly. Now that I am starting to strength train more my diet has flipped flopped to a lot of protein and carb cutting. Fueling is some important. I also did all of my training on water and most of my racing on water. Heck, most of the Ironman races I completed I would only take down 1000-2000 calories. Took a while to get to that lever but I once achieved I rarely got GI issues and racing became much easier. Good luck to you.
New to the channel and enjoying it! Nick (or anyone who's been around a while), 1. do you ever drink alcohol and 2. are you a cheat day/meal guy or just stick with it? As a Texan, I love a few beers and some Tex-Mex on the weekends, but I know it's holding me back in the end.
I see a lot of running videos but how are you transitioning from training in a pool to handling that open water swim? I'm hoping to get some Iron experience after I'm as wealthy as you haha!
Endurance lol. This is easy with a couple miles here and there, fancy and expensive foods, etc. All things that most people find expensive or not normal buys, while owning a giant sports facility and huge muscles. I do ultras and my daily training is 15-20+ miles per day running, cycling, swimming and gym, training for 250+ mile competitions. Rather than a lot of this fluff, here’s some main ones: Get a good nights sleep for recovery. Drink lots of water. Eat a good amount of veggies with your meals, protein and carbs. A good meal after a 20mile run for me is, mashed potatoes, ($1.50) pork chop ($4) and veggies (eg asparagus $1-2). On top of that, a nice tomato cucumber salad with olive oil, garlic. Main thing is, the meal gets your healthy oil, nutrients, protein/carbs/etc. Do a good amount of stretching. And spend 80% of your time at low intensity training and 20% at high. Consistency does it and over months of training 6 days a week, you’ll build endurance. All about putting in the work and be reasonably smart to replenish. And drink lots of water and take one a day vitamins is plenty.
Question for any distance runners out there. I just started and I took Nick's advice on building my aerobic base. What are some good running programs out there ? Right now I'm just running 3 miles a day
Run 10-12 miles a couple times a week at a 10min mile. If that’s too fast, choose a more approperiate time, eg 11/12min. And stick at the pace the entire time.
Love the videos Nick. I’m Irish bro and just a heads up it’s Kerrygold never Kerrygolds, for some mental reason we never pluralize that one word. Keep up the great work.
With all that training do you never suffer from runners knee? Since the gyms have closed I started running daily and now i’ve run into knee pain and it’s killing me that I can’t train:/
If you has the new pampered chef electric grill set, you would make the perfect waffle everytime. For it has a timer that will stop the cooking process.
I am an endurance athlete and I found your video very usefull. I am naturally quite muscular, 6.2 184. I want to recover well, but I want to lose some muscle mass. My goal is 176. How could I achieve that? Should I cut down on proteins or would that mess up my recovery?
