This man has a strong testimony. I teared up when he was talking about the first time he bore his testimony and he felt his mom’s spirit through the older women in his ward. So powerful. I can benchpress 315, train squats and deadlifts, etc but without Christ, I am weak! I am reminded of my come back story through this gentleman. Edit: tearing up again after the loss of his son. Man, I just can’t imagine. I love you brother. You’re an amazing man and your testimony will help many.
I grew up in Compton as well and know Pete since he was in primary and watched him grow up. The Pete then and the Peter that I see now on this podcast is truly a testament to the goodness of our Heavenly Father and the atoning sacrifice of our savior Jesus Christ for us all. You’ve come such a long way Pete. Stay the course mah brotha and keep sharing your powerful testimony and story… The Lord knew that your sons earthly journey was coming to an end soon and he prepared you to accept and understand it through returning to the gospel beforehand. Your son and mom will be waiting to reunite with you and your beautiful eternal family when this life is done. I’m working the landscaping of the Deseret Peak temple while listening to Peter’s story. Standing in the temple’s shadow, I wept from his great loss and then shared in the triumph of the new Pete! Truly, nothing is impossible for God! Trusting in the atonement of Jesus Christ and opening our hearts to his boundless grace changed Pete, and it can change us all!

To be honest my heart just sank in so many ways His story began living with his humble parents and remembering his mother words go to church life became a testimony how he grew up in the worldly influences him in ways that make him turn away from the truth….my tears started pouring out….and slowly starting to make sense to him and those around him and the way he turned to the lord for guidance loved this brother have over come the world through the gospel of Jesus Christ.STRONG TESTIMONY I BELIEVE THAT IF WE TURN TO THE LORD HE WILL SEE YOU THROUGH.

My son-in-law's name was John Johnson. He spent some time in jail & started reading the Book of Mormon & Doctrine and Covenants. When Peter heard his name being said (even tho it was Peter Whitmer), he took it to heart as if the Lord was addressing him. John Johnson read his name in the D&C & had a similar experience & asked to be baptized as soon as he served his time in jail! ❤❤❤
