He accuses people and tries to make us feel small, i remind him that he was supposed to be like the big brother. And he pissed it all away. And he is the wicked one. Hes the one that doesnt have a covenant, and if he did he fucked that up too. And hes the one who will endure eternal hell.

I loved this movie. The town scenes show how horribly hard life was then. That is juxtaposed against pio trying to show the world that in all of this the only answer is your creator.
This hit hard. I relate to Shia in every way. I’ve seen myself this exact way. Prayers for him everyday

This moment is reminiscent of my own inner monologue....im not tryna say this for clout or pity like....line for line this is exactly how it goes. Its hard knowing of The Lord and trying to reach him from that dark olace of guilt and shame that you've managed to immerse yourself in. When you've done wrong and you know it and you know that God is the only one who understands even more than you do. I find myself unable to truly comprehend his Love cause i feel so unworthy of it....i feel more worthy of my condemnation than his promises....and thats exactly why i need him so badly, every single day.
Right on, brother. Don't feel bad about sharing this. You speak the truth. Humans born with readiness to sin shed innocence, and our entitlement is rags and less than the dirt. But our entitlement is also the kingdom of the living, breathing God, Father of the Redeemer. Jesus's forgiveness is for anyone who would accept it. Knowing we don't deserve it as we are is just having grace, being conscientious. Don't let it ever keep you from accepting what our Father God made living in the flesh, came to do for us. Don't ever forget, don't ever lament, accept it gracefully and joyously because it was offered in grace and joy. Don't ever mourn the Son of God. He holds the keys to judgment, death, and eternity. We only need to keep trying. The lord knows your heart. And you will receive that blessing and grace. Fail or succeed. It's why we say "it's the thought or effort that matters." God Speed, Brother. @@doublem1971Yeah, I was gonna say the same thing. I've tried many times to pull that one off, only to be devoured like I'm nothing just a few moments later. Satan is wiser, smarter, more cunning than any of us. You throw words at him he'll just twist them perfectly to deceive you and cause you to fall.

Do not be fooled by the previews. St. Padre Pio is portrayed as a background character and the director does a poor job of tying Pio into the style and skims over the essence of St. Padre Pio.
Yeah! Felt a bit sad because the effort by Shia in the role was very impressive, but the movie is a waste.

I am no Catholic. I am a Non-denominational Protestant. However, I love anyone who devouts themselves to the same Lord, Savoir, and most high God. I have read about Padre Pio, and I can say I love his life, and how he devouted it to getting people saved by Christ. He is one of the people I can't wait to see him with many others in our Father's kingdom.

Can someone explain this scene please 😂, from what is here it sounds like he was one of those cult leaders with child brides but everyone in the comments seems to be on his side
In this scene Padre Pio is being harassed and falsely slandered by the Devil, I believe he is crying because of his own fears that Satan is able to attack, which is explains his strong emotional reaction in saying “Say Christ is Lord”
He was not a cult leader.
He was a friar and a priest.

This is not how we should honor one of the holiest men to ever live. Shia swears and does so many things in this movie Padre Pio would condemn. It’s unfortunate I so badly wanted it to be good.
Not sure how anyone couldn't see that that was highly likely to be the case. If anyone looked at who the Director is, why the movie is rated R, and they'd seen one of the Directors movies (like Bad Lieutenant), they would have gotten a good idea of how this movie was highly likely to turn out.
People (especially Catholics) should not be supporting this movie.

@@ThelifeofEnoch That's a Total assumption that he converted because of this movie. I've watched the interviews of him and never once do I remember him saying that he converted because of this movie. And if he did convert because of this movie I'd like to know what his understanding is on the Faith.
He converted because of the moviehe had an hour long interview with Bishop Barren about this role. Also, saints are human beings first before anything. Even the holiest of one's. Think of all the God chosen people in the Old Testament. Chosen by God yes, but still sinners.
