Good day! From one peasant to another,🤣I hope the King's Troop enjoyed their time at Horse Guards. It's understandable for the King's Troop wanting. To return to warm barracks and avoid the naughty tourists chaos. Glad the outstanding Gunner is back. Better than ever. Enforcing the rules. Always look forward to the Household Calvary return. Have a wonderful weekend! Well done!❤️💂♀️
John, The Troopers, all the Staff and Workers that serve the King may they have a Great, Grand and Glorious Life. Be Safe and Healthy in this crazy world. 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
What a morning. It all seemed calm and quiet and then boom! That gunner actually made me jump when he shouted at that woman with the kids. He is incredible. I think I would have ran all the way to Trafalgar Square. The guy using the C word should have been arrested. Thank you for the extra long video today. It was quite a ride. Wishing you a very happy weekend.
It's a long video as it was the final day for The King's Troop and what a morning! Several charges and shouts... and a £20 gift from one tourist to The King's Guard! All in all, the perfect end to KTRHA at Horse Guards. They will return in 2025. 💪🏻
Hi John, could you perhaps let me know if Robert painted a horse and trooper at horse guards and if it was maybe on show at the gallery where you had the private viewing it was around the end of winter into summer this year and was on one of your videos and you had a chat with him too
Hi John!! What a disgusting MORON he should of been taken a side and given what for has he no respect for the Military 🤬 Fantastic Gunner he really is amazing. ❤❤ all in all John dispite the Moron it was a lovely Video and beautiful sunshine. Merry Christmas to the Gunners Godbless them all definitely looking forward to seeing them Next Year. Thank you John Stay Safe ❤❤🇬🇧🇬🇧
@@LondonCityWalksthanks John, did see that video but I couldn’t recall the one that Robert was painting, not to worry I’ll have a look at the gorgeous paintings again, thank you for your awesome input as always
Thank you Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery it's been great seeing you at Horse Guards in your temporary duty as Kings Lifeguards 😀. A complete change from your usual duties , though I expect you'll be glad to return to base at Woolwich and a welcome break . Horses off on a well earned winter holiday at Melton Mowbray . If anyone wants to see more of KTRHA search for the videos of their spectacular Musical Drive with the horses and gun carriages well worth watching ! They are appearing at the Royal Windsor Horse Show next year , I would love to get down and see it for myself. I know it's early but Merry Christmas to all the Gunners see you next year 😘
John, your video is the first thing I watch when I wake up. Some people have coffee, I have Horse Guards, it Sets the tone for my day. I'm so disheartened when you aren't there but I have plenty of back videos to watch so, win win. Have a good trip. Oh no!! Our sweet horse and great Gunner are leaving. I'm with you, I think I will shed a tear when the King's Guard leaves for who knows how long. There go my sweet faced horse with their twitchy ears and beautiful colors😢. Thank you again John for getting out of bed and coming to film these beauties.
same here is Aus . video on kettle on toaster on . On the couch and thats where i stay until its over. lol My hubby walks by and says Horses again. hahahaha.
Yes John I’m watching from Buna, Texas USA! I did not know that the videos existed I just came across it! Now I am hooked on the guard horses and guards and and I guess it’s you this film in the back saying to the men washing the horses and cleaning their feet I’ll kinds of things which is so interesting! Thank you thank you thank you
Just watching last Christmas session. So appreciate your regular coverage from here in New Zealand. Hope you have a great break. Look forward to your return in the Spring ❤❤
What a shameful excuse for a man, vile, disgusting creature. With people like that, give me animals any day. Love your humour & such a brilliant video as usual. Thank you ❤
"These two gents are playing Hyde and Sikh." It took a long second, but as usual, I was nearly on the floor laughing at your amazing wit, John. Thanks for the great sense of humor you display in every video!
How dull am i, I didn't get your joke until @dondavis5633 wrote it out in plain English. That really was pretty clever but no wonder the person behind you gave you stink eye. Keep up the great commentary, it's what makes your channel unique and your followers loyal.
From the title, I think this video may prove interesting. See you all soon! Amazing, Wonderful, Spot On Gunners today! What a glorious sight to see too! There aren't enough adjectives to describe how delighted with their enforcement that I am today. And I think that MORE tourists should be putting 20 pounds in their boots just as you said, John. WHEW! This is by far my favorite video of the year and these two Gunners should be Gunners of the Year for KTRHA!! If I could, I would send them all a 20 pound note for their holidays! What more can I say? Oh, lots, but I'll leave it at that. Have a wonderful trip, John and hope to see you soon. Love and Blessings from Missouri, USA.
Wow, wow, wow. Love that Gunner❤ And even though he was totally surprised by the man with the trolley, he dealt with it brilliantly. You know, if that man had uttered those awful words to a Police Officer, he could have been arrested. Why didn't the MOD Police follow him? They've done it before. Anyway, loved the Kings Troop being on duty. A Merry Christmas to all them & their families. 😘
That first horse is watching you like a long lost friend. He is watching you and his ears are twitching at your voice. It's very sweet as if he will miss you. I know I will miss these horses, they are by far my favorites for their attentiveness and their twitchy ears. I hope the gunners watch your channel and know how much we have enjoyed their time here. God bless them.
Nice when people are creative and respectful. Retired Veterans should never be homeless once they given service to the country. If you took the hours of service and the pay a soldier got back in the day who sometimes worked 24 hours a day, it would be slave labour. Not saying I didn't enjoy the time serving my country but "There's NO Life like it" Thanks for sharing.
That man was horrible. I refuse to let him destroy the beauty of this video. Meanwhile, in Tennessee USA it was 13 F when I woke up this morning. Brrr and bah humbug. Love watching your videos and hearing your commentary at Horse Guards . Peace and love to all ❤even the unlovable Old coot that is clueless on manners and respect . Sadly They walk and talk among us. 😢! ❤
God has given us such blessings! The song " Wonderful World" expresses it all! And yet, evil lies beneath the beauty! When will we ever be free? Thank you, John, for your uplifting work to see the good (unfortunately some bad) and heroics left! Merry Christmas! Love your work!
Hi John , just wondering if you have Any update on the Painting , you kindly thought of us fundraising to purchase It for the Old Soldier? It’s just when l looked online it seems to have been sold. This was the most enjoyable 1 1/2 our I had today. If I were young and healthy I would immediately pack my suitcases and leave for London...to the Household Cavalry! Thank you John, have a nice trip 😂😍😂
This was truly an episode that is one of a kind! It had, money on boots, very handsome, well dressed men going to the lady gates man and personally and closely, intimately saying things making her smile, then heading over to the Lady Chitsman and doing and saying his suave “sweet nothings” to her too! Then we had man going right up to the horse to do who knows what and the Gunner promptly intervened with a loud authoritative “get away” using his horse to make the man stop I his tracks, tripping over his own feet to get back and saying some nasty things, with John utterly shocked saying, “ Chap, Chap, Chap, Chap!!!” 😮😅. A very good episode John. You were at the right places at exactly the right time. Hats off. Thank you.
Gunner on the left is very consistent in keeping people out of the box he will be missed and he looks at people as they pose with the funniest expression on his face I laugh almost every time I look at his expression, Gunner on the right is excellent too. Everybody taking a picture should put money in the guards boots. Really good video thank you.
It's a tradition dating back to the late 1800s to place money, a blessing or a prayer into the guard's boot to bring them good luck. Some people give a note of thanks for their service. Any money put in their boots goes to charity - to the Household Cavalry Foundation. The Foundation supports all the members of the Household Cavalry “family”, our serving soldiers, operational casualties, veterans and dependants. Thank you very much John for your dedication to stay and film the happenings today which were varied and many . I was interrupted as I was watching my granddaughter FaceTimed from horse guards at the last of the gunners going back to the stables I was so jealous . Have a lovely weekend and enjoy 😊 .
Morning John and everyone my day is just starting here in the U.S thanks for another amazing video have an amazing break John going to miss these gunners.
This guard on the left is one of my absolute fav’s. He’s been enforcing the “line” aka “box” rule since the first time he has come out. These horses are much more calmer than the other black ones. Is there a reason for that? Or is it just the luck of the draw what horse that is mounted.?
Ces chevaux la, sont monté par des femmes cavalières, c’est ce que j’ai observé ! Je peut me tromper ! Elles n’ont pas le casque . La couleur de ces chevaux est superbe !! Monique 🇫🇷
What a beautiful day in London, John. The crowds were massive on the walk to Horse Guards. The cash donation was lovely to see, as they are few and far between, unfortunately. I jumped when the Gunner charged his horse at the man who quickly approached them! I’m sure he was just as startled as the extremely rude guy. I wish the MOD police had seen that! That Gunner, WOW! He’s extraordinary! Thank you for the extra long vid today. I could watch your vlogs for hours, John. Farewell and blessings to the King’s Troop! With love & appreciation as always, John! ♥️🇺🇸🐴🐴🇬🇧♥️
The guard backing that idiot down by using his horse was brilliant!!! I hope there weren't too many spammers filming. Also, I could listen to your commentary for hours. Have a great time wherever you're going.
Interesting . . . Good shout from the Guard, that told the rest who were watching not to step inside the line. Good on the guard. Most enjoyable John: Kiwi

Morning John, we are in the middle of a heat wave at 35c way down south but what a beautiful day it seems to be in London today with that gorgeous architecture in the background, it looks like the five armies battle from Lord of the Rings there with the mass of tourists all around
Wow that made me jump.did he actually say c.u.next.tuesday?what a disgusting piece of crap, just shown himself up in front of hundreds of people, this Gunner is brilliant, and lovely for the wee girl to give him £20, Going to miss the Kings Troop..have a lovely weekend John, see you next week,❤
Good chilly morning John from Florida! ❤️ what a lovely walk with you this morning on the way to Horse guards! Sad this is the last day for the King’s Troop Gunners! Onward John!
Respect to this trooper protecting himself and his trooper horse. I always worry about people putting their hand up at the horse's mouth they could have drug residue on them. Respect, Respect to these troopers and horses!
@@dravont73unfortunately it’s not up to the Guards discretion. In a previous video recently a Gunner was staring out across the street blatantly ignoring the enormous amount of people crowding into the box touching the horse and saying absolutely nothing. Obviously someone in the barracks was watching on CCTV and came running out right into the box up to the Gunner and immediately instructed her to keep people out of the box. He even pantomimed where the lines were and she nodded that she understood however in the next few videos she almost whispered to the tourists so she was never heard. So they know their job, among other duties, is to keep people away from the horse. The Gunner with the mustache in this video is the BEST of the BEST. He knows his job and duty and upholds the standards every time he’s on horseback. Very sad to see him go.

That gentleman should not have been allowed to get away with being so disrespectful to the Kings Trooper/the police would probable have arrested him if he had spoken to them in that way. The Kings troop will be sadly missed as they perform their duties so well and the horses are absolutely beautiful and so calm in their duty. Great chat John
I adore horses...look at the way each ear constantly isolates all sounds...in a radar like manner..i prefer to think the riders whisper secretly to them....lovelove
I just love your “cabbage man and Colgate toothpaste humor! When you said Colgate my mind said Yessss that jacket looked like Colgate colors!! 😂😂😂Love you !
Thanks John, great commentary once again. l was fascinated by the father and daughter putting the $20 in the Gunner's boot, didn't know that could be a thing. As for the rude gentleman with the 'potty' mouth (love that expression) l was glad he was shouted at by both Gunners, and charged at by the horse. 👏👏

@@tibetanterrier5463 Thank you for your reply, more people need to know this. Unfortunately in the video l watched yesterday, one of the twins in the Blues and Royals turned down an appreciative tourist who wanted to put money in her boot. l understand it was her right to refuse, maybe the boxmen need to know what happens to these donations.🥰
Wow what authority the gunners were giving out! Your sense of humour John 😂 you do make me giggle. Hope you manage to catch your train okay after the major technical problems in London. Have a great weekend. Thank you
Your witty remarks are what make this so entertaining and your explanations just sweeten the video so much. Thank you for a gem of a channel. It’s my nightly ritual now to watch here what your posted. My dear husband is enjoying now as well.
I wonder what comment John would have if I visited HCAV. “Holy moly Ahab we’ve got ourselves a real life Canadian Moby”. All kidding aside hope The King’s Troop, The Lifeguards and The Blues and Royals all have a wonderful holiday. As well as yourself John have a marvellous holiday and enjoy your time away.
Safe journey John and have a good trip. To Kings Troop, thank you for a great visit 2024. You have done your regiment and yourself proud. Hope you come back soon you'll be missed. Wishing you all in the Kings Troop a very Happy 🎄 Christmas 🎄 and hope 2025 is a happy and healthy year for you fabulous horses and Gunners.
Good Morning John.... Omgee....I'm late this morning. London is beautiful this morning sunny day. Busy bridge. ALOHA Friday ❤ You have a Wonderful and Humorous Day and Weekend ❤ ALOHA From Hawaii ❤❤❤❤
When I was a child, two words you could be instantly arrested for: behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace. Now you hear at least one in casual conversation,, the other quite commonly.
Thank you for the wonderful video today..I personally think that everybody should leave money that gets pictures. Bless your military and may the get the respect they deserve
I’m someone who was an adult in the U.K in the 70’s….to see abandoned luggage just left in a public space and just stand about watching it brings out all sorts of ‘Why the hell aren’t you getting out of there and fast ?’ in me. Being in Manchester then…and sometimes there since will do that to you. That triggered something I’d not thought about for a good while…..wow…
Thank you John for making me smile and laugh, I feel down a lot since my husband passed last July so you help me to feel better daily , thank for cheering me up , fun video 😀
sorry to hear about your husband but glad that John cheers you, his voice is soothing and he says things thst you just hsve to laugh at, i hope you have a good day💕💕
What that gentleman did with the money that he gave to his daughter to give to the guard she did not understand where she needed to put it. She kept telling her dad and pointing to the ground that she could not cross the white line. KUDOS to her. Her dad then took the money and lifted the corner of the guards coat up and placed the money inside his boot. He has done this before with other guards. The guard did give him permission to step in the box and put the money in his boot. Dad did the right thing. KUDOS two dad for teaching his daughter the right thing.❤❤
John, thanks for this longer than usual video and concentrating on the best guard ever in HP. No one, and I mean absolutely no one, in the 3 regiments, compares to him in his quick, stern and consistent enforcement of the white lines rule. 👏❤️ The obnoxious man who entered the box to feed or touch the horse should've been spoken to by the police officers as that would have stopped him repeating his disrespectful behaviour at the other end. I wish this wonderful gunner and all his colleagues a very happy Christmas and a fabulous 2024. Enjoy your break too, John.❤
I wish that a sign with a brief history of the Lifeguards would be posted. I think many would find it interesting and may change some attitudes. I know that I would read it if it was there. I drive my family crazy because I stop and read all kinds of information signs, especially in historical areas. How could I not be interested, I'm visiting the area, and I love learning new things. Even old grannies enjoy learning new things.
That gunner didn’t deserve that man yelling at him like that. There are signs all around and he had to see that no one was going in to the horse. Those men take a lot of crap off of tourist. 😡😡
Filming in arctic area's is good possible. You only need extra batteries. Keep always a set under your clothing and change before the battery really dies. It is amazing foto and filming in the arctic temperatures with snow. You should try it! I can recommend it. I live almost 15 years in the north of Sweden. Thank you for keeping my memories about Londen alive.

I don’t care if it is a long video, means there is more for me to watch John
He wasn't only very rude and disrespectful but a complete idiot.
Interesting . . . Good shout from the Guard, that told the rest who were watching not to step inside the line. Good on the guard. Most enjoyable John: Kiwi
John I heard that the cash in the soldiers boot used to be given to help the soldier when their pay was low but nowadays it goes to charity
The Foundation also supports the Household Cavalry’s heritage, and the welfare of the retired horses.
Morning John, we are in the middle of a heat wave at 35c way down south but what a beautiful day it seems to be in London today with that gorgeous architecture in the background, it looks like the five armies battle from Lord of the Rings there with the mass of tourists all around
Wishing all members of the 'Kings Troop' a wonderful Christmas !!! May Santa bring you many carrots....See you in 2025 ))
Wow that made me jump.did he actually say c.u.next.tuesday?what a disgusting piece of crap, just shown himself up in front of hundreds of people, this Gunner is brilliant, and lovely for the wee girl to give him £20, Going to miss the Kings Troop..have a lovely weekend John, see you next week,❤
The gift in the soldiers boot was so beautiful to see as these soldiers deserve respect admiration and appreciation.x❤
Good chilly morning John from Florida! ❤️ what a lovely walk with you this morning on the way to Horse guards! Sad this is the last day for the King’s Troop Gunners! Onward John!
The way the light is glowing on The Guardman and Horses on these two a Regal stance showing every detail on both . Absolutely stunning 😍 ❤
Respect to this trooper protecting himself and his trooper horse. I always worry about people putting their hand up at the horse's mouth they could have drug residue on them. Respect, Respect to these troopers and horses!
Good morning! Very cold here in Pittsburgh PA this morning. Bring back some warm weather 😊
Great job to the Gunner! He has quickly become my favorite Gunner! Hope you have a nice trip❤

@@Avalanche_Broncos_FanWe might be speaking about different gunners. I was speaking about the Gunner in the box who strictly enforces the rules!
The money in the boots is tradionally left with a blessing & a prayer. The Gunner clearly understood the meaning of that gift, hence his acceptance.
Don’t agree. Rules are to stay out of the box.
@@danielruiz3443technically it’s up to the guard’s discretion as to how much they allow the “rules” be bent.
It's a tradition long may it be

The horse guards did a great job keeping the tourists out of the box
Hello favorite peasant! Must confess as to watching other videos because I'm trying to spot you. Lol. It's like ' finding Waldo.'
Ditto, maybe wave at a spammer or two so we know it's you. Just nice to put a face to the name.
Goodmorning John! I absolutely love your humor and content!! Watch all your videos!!! Indiana USA
Thank you John for your perseverance today...❤. Lovely to see all the excitement...have a great weekend...Ruth from IN., USA
some people run up to the gate like they’re gonna tell the police “open the gate “ let me in. I don’t wanna wait.
The very first horse you showed, the one in the haunted box, has the most beautiful mottled colouring. Just gorgeous.

Beautiful and sunny day in London. Thanks for the videos john
Merry Christmas and thank you John!!! 💓
Greetings from Ohio USA under 37 inches of snow. Enjoyed the lovely video.
Good Morning from the east coast of the USA!!
John thanks as always. That was awesome with the money put in boot. How very kind :)
Don’t agree. Rules are to stay out of the box. He should have said no.
Chill out pet , it's been done before and is seen as a gesture of respect to the military , it was one of those times rules can be bent 😊
I think the dude was going to try to feed the horses. That is strange to me, if I thought it was a possibility I would ask first.
So funny, John, with the imaginary script for the posh family hahahaha. 'Don't stick your hand out unless there's £20 quid in it." 🤣
Morning John looks beautiful out there…..looking forward to today’s video..have a great weekend !!😎😎🌻
Gunner of the Year! Thanks John, for the Friday Funnies!
The blue sky is beautiful!!!
Walks right past the sign, never a glance to read it....very rude. They all need a lesson to learn!
I absolutely adore this incredible looking majestic horse. An amazing colour ♥️♥️🌺😘😘 xx😊😊
Love the old traditions
Hilarious commentary John…….as always!🌻😎🌻
Thank you for your hour long videos. They're perfect as I use the time indoors to exercise on my bike pedals. 🚲 🛋 ❤ 🐴 💂
Oh stop I nearly choked laughing woolly mamouth coat. I was just enjoying a sip of brandy to warm-the cockles 😅
Thank you John for making me smile and laugh, I feel down a lot since my husband passed last July so you help me to feel better daily , thank for cheering me up , fun video 😀
sorry to hear about your husband but glad that John cheers you, his voice is soothing and he says things thst you just hsve to laugh at, i hope you have a good day💕💕
From Texas….Bless you and bless the memory of your husband. ❤❤
Don’t know how I missed this part! Loved it! Thank you John! 😊Have a safe journey!
What a lovely view of the city this morning, we will miss you when you're gone and hope you have a great vacation. See you then 😊
You certainly have the " gift of the gab" today.! Keep it up.
Beautiful sunshine like here but it’s-7celcius, feels like -15. We have snow on the ground. Lots of tourists
Hell no we won't go...BRING BACK THE HORSE GUARDS ONE!!!! ( I'm protesting for Ormonde's return!)
So proud for you up to 89,800 subscribed, John! 🐴🐴
Same..you’re never too old to learn!
You’re not old if you’re still interested in learning. Age is just a number. How you act and feel are what is most important!
The Life Guards and Blues and Royals can learn quite a few things from the Gunners from the Kings Troop especially this Gunner
Red weather warnings where I live. Potential power cuts. North Wales.
