The Trooper who bought the painting of himself has a lasting legacy , better than any photo . Too much champagne , is that possible ?😁😁😁. I did see on a live stream ( sorry 😇) the Blues and Royals arriving and it was a Long Guard , lined up on the Parade ground in beautiful sunshine . It was indeed a privilege. As there were so many military folk in attendance, I thought it better not to film the event. Only the Grenadier Sentries were in uniform and looked magnificent!

You mentioning the perfection of their kit brings back memories of my Dad teaching me to polish shoes. He was an officer in the Navy and he took great pride in not only special occasion dress, but his everyday uniform. He taught me the perfect polish technique and to this day I take pride in well kept and shined shoes. These troopers have stunningly beautiful ensembles and they always shine from head to toe as do their horses. Thank you John for reminding viewers that it takes a great deal of time and care to maintain it all and prepare themselves for their time in the box or arches.

I have a picture of Churchill wailing down Whitehall to parliament. A childhood friend of mine has a photo of himself standing on the step of number ten. As a lad we visited parliament hill in Ottawa and we parked at the top of the right in front of the Houses of Parliament. Times have changed so that you can’t get close to those in power.

Hi John. Hope the fog has lifted after all that champagne 😂. I loved watching him paint, in your videos, last summer. It was clear that he is extremely talented. Even though they weren't finished they were beautiful. Possible explanation for the tourists with luggage is flight times & registering times in hotels or apartments. I was in London earlier this year with a few friends. Our flight left Toulouse very early in the morning, so we arrived in Heathrow about 9 o'clock. We couldn't go to the apartment we rented, in Whitecapel, until 3 o'clock in the afternoon, so we spent most of the day wandering around London with our luggage. In the hotels if you want to check in earlier, you have to pay a supplement. I found the remark about the Troopers staying silent when tourists encroach in the box interesting. That is an extremely good reason to ban the Spammers. Whether on public property or not, they are preventing the Troopers from doing their job. Posting old videos that have already been objected to by a serving soldier, whether male or female is another damn good reason to get rid of them. Oh, forgot to mention, great video, as always.

Afternoon John! The exhibition sounds wonderful, am planing a trip from the deepest, darkest Shires into London Town next week, so will definitely look into a visit there! As for the horsey stench, I often hear remarks about the boxes not being cleaned all day but you know: the little boy that mucks out the boxes can only do it of an evening, as during the day he has to sweep out all the Palaces chimneys! Fact!😏
I’ve seen one of the soldiers come out from the back before with a dust pan and broom during the day and sweep up the horse poop before. It’s got to be slick and a safety issue for horses and guards.

I lived opposite Chelsea Barracks when the bomb went off and worked at Harrods when tha t bomb went off. We were made aware of the smallest things left. Cigarette packets, water bottles and particularly bags, boxes etc. I am surprised what is left unattended at Horse Guards and is not looked at.
In the 80s the cameras were to big to hold to make a selfie :-) Here on youtube is a video from Horse Guards from 16 years ago. No crowds, no bollards, no chains at the arches.

The reason they take their luggage John is because they leave the hotel and if their flight is late then they have to take it with them, most hotels you have to be out by ten so they can clean the rooms for the next lot coming in

I live in the Rocky Mtns and horses are everywhere but these horses are so well taken care of and gorgeous it sets them apart as much as the human troopers. It's a joy to watch you every morning, it's how I start my day.

Now if that bag was found here in the states, everyone would be evacuated from the area and the bomb squad called in. Even here in my small town we just had some bomb threats called in to the local Walmart. Everyone evacuated to the far side of the parking lot. Also those MOD officers should have been wearing gloves while going through the bag.
I haven't had time to watch your videos or do anything much lately. I started school in August. Going back to college over 60. While I love it and enjoy learning I do nothing much except sleep once I am home. It's great to be able to catch up on videos as the semester winds down.

The reason they take their luggage John is because they leave the hotel and if their flight is late then they have to take it with them, most hotels you have to be out by ten so they can clean the rooms for the next lot coming in

John, love your commentary and ad-libbing of what troopers (horse and human) might be thinking. It's interesting the trivia you add about house guard. I live in the Rocky Mtns and horses are everywhere but these horses are so well taken care of and gorgeous it sets them apart as much as the human troopers. It's a joy to watch you every morning, it's how I start my day.

Now if that bag was found here in the states, everyone would be evacuated from the area and the bomb squad called in. Even here in my small town we just had some bomb threats called in to the local Walmart. Everyone evacuated to the far side of the parking lot. Also those MOD officers should have been wearing gloves while going through the bag.

One film maker removed the clip on request of the Trooper. But there are many other RUclipsrs who have filmed this scene and they care only about the clicks and the money.

For the boxmen maybe it would help if the lines were painted day-glo orange with diagonal lines through the box.😂❤
The pavement is Westminster Council property not MOD , I very much doubt they would permit day glo orange lines on the pavement 😊
