Great Long Guard. I noticed the Trumpeter rode a black horse and not a grey. I'm guessing that RHA doesn't use greys.
But despite the 3 horse traffic jam at the stable entrance it was a very dignified entrance into the yard. So happy you got that.

Those young women are tough..when you watch how they get those cannons all hitched up ready to have the horses pull them - and all that they do ..big admiration. The women are no push-over! We are so lucky to have our great military in our country..am very proud of them all..and I know you are also.

Thank you John your posts always brighten my day. i just wanted to say after seeing the farmers very peaceful and respectful protest yesterday, they left a pile of food near the cenotaph for the food banks, now I call that awesome.
Yes, I heard somewhere that groups of farmers brought food for foodbanks with them to London. Unfortunately, that didn't make the News, as far as I saw.

Sounded like a sporting match or concert. Impressive farmers protest. I could tell you were a bit torn between Horse Guards and the protest. I’m glad we experienced both. Thank you for filming the beautiful horses. There was plenty of laughter too, over 💩 on the farmer’s street 😂 Nice to see the Gunner’s little smile. Let’s see what’s in store today!

I can see why many artists want to paint London the beautiful portland stone buildings, the Tower Bridge and the Thames River, the blue blue sky, the autumn trees. Hyde Park and the Mall, Cenotaph memorial on Whitehall with its bright red poppy wreaths. All in that London winter sun. Beautiful.

You spoke with two groups. One was respectful and interested in what you said. The other was disrespectful, to say the least. It is a pity that the police officers didn't see their antics. Thank you for setting them straight, John. I think a lot of this is because, one, they think it is an act to amuse tourists, and two, they are just ignorant of British traditions.
The MOD officers were well aware of their behaviour any more and they would have be ordered to leave the courtyard !

Nicely done, John. Perhaps they'll actually learn something. That female Gatesman had a superb Command Presence! The other troopers should take lessons from her. I learned to yell quite loudly myself while in the Military.

The Horses were very calm today and looking gorgeous/the young children behaved well and showed interest in the horses/the lady guard showed total control of the yard, very impressive/another wonderful day John of super comments

Loved it and fell in love with the sport ever since. / At first I'd thought that the filming crew kept moving position to avoid being filmed by another person other than themselves. 🤷

We've never seen any trooper or gunner walk so far across the Parade Ground. Police Officer couldn't keep up with her.
I had to laugh when the MOD officer said " she's on a mission " he took the words out of my mouth 😀 . She's an absolute star 🌟 . Marching that far would keep her warm and get the blood flowing , unlike the chitsman who poor soul can only march across the arches by the stables !
And she had a moment marching in the sunshine 🌞 on the parade grounds!

As for the Spaniards, unless they came from outer space, they can well understand English & French. They prefer to say they understand niether. I digress a little, now. The Farmers in France are restarting their protests because the French Government hasn't kept the promises made from the last dispute.

Can I help you out with some vocabulary concerning Horse Guards? The lady is called a "Gunner" because their troop and horses pull the canons and guns. The area she marched into is called the "Parade Ground" because of all the ceremonies and guard changes that go on there. I hope that helps a little. It took me awhile to get the words right! LOL.
