Great Long Guard. I noticed the Trumpeter rode a black horse and not a grey. I'm guessing that RHA doesn't use greys. But despite the 3 horse traffic jam at the stable entrance it was a very dignified entrance into the yard. So happy you got that.

Thank you John your posts always brighten my day. i just wanted to say after seeing the farmers very peaceful and respectful protest yesterday, they left a pile of food near the cenotaph for the food banks, now I call that awesome.
Those young women are tough..when you watch how they get those cannons all hitched up ready to have the horses pull them - and all that they do ..big admiration. The women are no push-over! We are so lucky to have our great military in our country..am very proud of them all..and I know you are also.

I can see why many artists want to paint London the beautiful portland stone buildings, the Tower Bridge and the Thames River, the blue blue sky, the autumn trees. Hyde Park and the Mall, Cenotaph memorial on Whitehall with its bright red poppy wreaths. All in that London winter sun. Beautiful.
Cold day, at least the lady gunner can warm up taking a long brisk march. Also the gunners aren't hampered by those painful lifeguard ceremonial boots.
One thing I have learned from watching your channel is, don't ever expect a normal day. Anything and everything can happen at Horse Guards in a split second.

Can I help you out with some vocabulary concerning Horse Guards? The lady is called a "Gunner" because their troop and horses pull the canons and guns. The area she marched into is called the "Parade Ground" because of all the ceremonies and guard changes that go on there. I hope that helps a little. It took me awhile to get the words right! LOL.

I was going to say tourists need to do some research about the places they are visiting so they know how to behave appropriately, but you shouldn't disrespect anyone like that no matter where you are!

John, you are an excellent ambassador of Horse Guards. Everyone looks up to you. I was watching the gatesman listen to you so appreciatively while you were speaking to the Spanish clown the 1st time. The idiot simply didn’t care, as we saw him try it at least two more times. The group visiting from Israel soaked up all of your information and they were genuinely interested.

I can see why many artists want to paint London the beautiful portland stone buildings, the Tower Bridge and the Thames River, the blue blue sky, the autumn trees. Hyde Park and the Mall, Cenotaph memorial on Whitehall with its bright red poppy wreaths. All in that London winter sun. Beautiful.
Cold day, at least the lady gunner can warm up taking a long brisk march. Also the gunners aren't hampered by those painful lifeguard ceremonial boots.
One thing I have learned from watching your channel is, don't ever expect a normal day. Anything and everything can happen at Horse Guards in a split second.

We've never seen any trooper or gunner walk so far across the Parade Ground. Police Officer couldn't keep up with her.
I had to laugh when the MOD officer said " she's on a mission " he took the words out of my mouth 😀 . She's an absolute star 🌟 . Marching that far would keep her warm and get the blood flowing , unlike the chitsman who poor soul can only march across the arches by the stables !
And she had a moment marching in the sunshine 🌞 on the parade grounds!

The Farmers in France are restarting their protests because the French Government hasn't kept the promises made from the last dispute.

Can I help you out with some vocabulary concerning Horse Guards? The lady is called a "Gunner" because their troop and horses pull the canons and guns. The area she marched into is called the "Parade Ground" because of all the ceremonies and guard changes that go on there. I hope that helps a little. It took me awhile to get the words right! LOL.

The lady gunner is awesome - I think I'd walk that far and often to keep warm and because I can't stand still long! 😊. You've made Colin famous - everyone wants to know if he's okay now. And wow, those 7 police horses! I recognise PH George and PH Bullseye. I was going to say tourists need to do some research about the places they are visiting so they know how to behave appropriately, but you shouldn't disrespect anyone like that no matter where you are!
