Goodbye COBB Accessport... Hello Opensource!

  • The title says it all guys, we are getting rid of the COBB Accessport due to the green speed update. Yes I could've put the emission related items back on the car. However, in the future I'd like to make more power out of the car, and to do what I'd like to do, we would end up in the same position. I'm not completely excited about going with opensource, but we will see how this goes!

    opensource remote tunes are THE FUTURE! So glad you're going this way, way more options and street logs give a tuner a lot of real-world data for a better daily anyway Drag racers look at drag logs, generator technicians look at usage logs, but dynos - particularly without a variable brake and 4-hub mounts - are kinda dumb to begin with for an AWD car, since thats not normal behaviour. Looking forward to seeing more abnormal behaviour haha

    • @zach_lush
      @zach_lush  2 года назад +2

      Well before the COBB AP opensource was the thing to do. Not sure about remote tuning opensource, but it was forsure done on the dyno. It doesn't have all the features but does offer a way to tune your car without restrictions.

    You can turn off any DTC you want in the RomRaider DTC tab including rear O2. Your tuner may not want to do it themselves for legal reasons.

    I also found a Tactrix clone that works well with ECUFlash/RomRaider, but it may only work with pre/early Can Bus cars (I have an 04 Baja Turbo). Torque will also do logging.

    I got accesstuner for my accessport back in 2018, before this thing where cobb neutered the AP and what a shop can do. Glad that I never updated the tuning software as I can still turn off what I want to shut off. I just recently resurrected my 2005 wrx, it sat for a while but just got in it and did the whole timing belt set, put on a VF39 and IC from a STI owned by a friend of mine, DW200 pump, FIC 1100 injectors I had sitting around waiting to go in. The engine I rebuilt a couple years ago before I parked it, it's a 2 liter from a JDM twin turbo legacy (obviously I'm running single on it) I didn't bother connecting my Wideband to run through the AP, I have it pod mounted and eyes on it and live tracing on my laptop running pass-through on the AP. Currently just tuning in the everyday drivability with e85 on my work commute, 50 miles each way. Lot of data and lots of areas I can steady hold certain speeds and loads. I get that settled and I'll start the WOT tuning.

But hell, I could email the map I'm currently running if your mods are same and your running e85, if your on 91-93 octane of have to make scaling adjustments for the injectors and maybe change the ramp up on the boost.

Most modified cars just go to friends who push a "pass" through using false data. Yes illegal, but nobody committing the crime cares as the laws infringe on our rights in our view. I take it you do not have the ability to bypass their rules. What a bummer.
