Would I be able to use the splice connector to tapn into my headlight bulb wires?? Please get back at me thank you
Did you know thta suby sell an oem emblem led illuminated ? But cost an arm and a leg 302$US 😅
Yeah, I'm aware of it. But its also not for my generation. I'm also not a fan of how its lights up, I like the outline of the stars, not the full thing lighting up like Rudolph lol
Anyway you could link where you bought the system? Having the same exact issue
I got mine from a parts car. But if you had to buy one you can get it from the dealer, Amazon, Parts Avatar, Rock Auto. Which ever works best for you.
Did the car have a factory reverse cam? Any idea how to use that instead of mounting the cam that comes with the unit?
No, it never had the reverse camera. Also i dont think you can retain the factory one unless you figured out what the wiring was and spliced into it.
@@zach_lush Yeah, I'm afraid that would be the case :(
You gotta double flare brake lines!
Yes, its been mentioned in the description. Even though it was a single flare, I never had an issue. Either way would still recommend a double flare.
How many miles before engine failure?
I believe it was just over 60,000 km
FYI, those carbide burrs are the wrong type to be using for this! Those carbide burrs are meant for steel, not aluminum, which is why they clogged up and got destroyed. You need to use carbide burrs that are meant for aluminum, which will have much wider/bigger gaps between the cutting edges of the bit.
Thanks for the tip! I realized awhile after I posted the video what my issue was. I'll for sure be prepared for next time!
Future reference you dont need to remove the bumber to take the bezels off
Sure, but good luck wiring it
@@zach_lush that is true Iol
You did nice job though man 👌🏻 well explained

Installing these same 05 seats into my truck . Unable to tell me what connector is the heater ?
Into your truck? Well i should've showed the connection when I made that T harness with the brown wires.

If I go to the dyno do I need a tuner for them to tune it ? Or they just plug up and tune me from there computer?
If your going on a dyno the tuner will have everything needed
can we get an updated description including the links to the websites you got your car parts from please? P.S. clean af STI build im loving it and want to get some of the parts you ordered
Appreciate it! I have a playlist on the channel that has everything I've done to the car. In the description of each video there should be a link to the part i ordered

I'm not too sure what this is supposed to mean.
Zack i was going to post in the modified legacys pages after deep reading a post. So are you the underdog on the fourms?
I'm assuming your talking about the forum where you put an 06 seat in an 05? If thats the case then yes lol
@@zach_lush yessir. I added you. You may know me as well from the groups.
@@mikev350z not sure, mightve seen you around. Im still fairly new to the legacy platform.
Where did you get the fog light lamps, wiring and switch kit? I can only find the fog lights by themselves. The DRL Bezel kit doesn't have the fog light lamps or the wiring and switch.
You can find them on Ebay or your local aftermarket auto part shops
I thought it was Error 55 lol
Haha same here!
hey man thanks for contributing to the Subaru community and providing info for us future owners, i used this just to figure out where all the hardlines go without taking off my intake manifold to get a better understanding.
No problem, happy it helped!
Man I'm looking for an LED one like this, but personally I don't really want sequential, as it doesn't match up with the front indicators. Anyone know if theres a non-sequential version?
From my knowledge I don't think theres anything else.
Looking to buy an STi myself but blowing it up seems like a nightmare. Did you come to a conclusion why yours blew? Beautiful STI, nice video!
Thanks! I don't know exactly why, but I believe it was from running a COBB OTS tune.
😅 video just popped up. I'm good good watched it anyway . I'll be back for a serious build
Lol! Sounds good 😂
18x9.5 stretch THAT much on 245s? thats crazy.
Its actaully 18x10.5 lol! Its not that bad, i know people with 225's on a 10.5. Till this day I've had zero issues with it.
Zack, you mentioned how it wasn’t plug and play, how did you connect the new harness to the housing? I’m struggling to figure it out because I didn’t order it with the DW install kit
It is acraully plug and play, it comes with a harness incase your car doesnt have the appropriate connector.
hey bro i can’t find the tactrix cable or any option for my 07 sti
The cable to buy? The tactrix cable is universal. Just go to tactrix website to buy one
How did you get the music to keep playing when you put the car in reverse?
Honestly, can't remember, did this over a year ago. Just check through your settings.
In the settings (In think in Others) there is one option.
There are same transmission of subaru liberty wagon 2005? What part number is the speed sensor thanks
I believe they would be the same. Dealer would be able to verify for you. Part number is in the description.
Any idea where to get a kit for Legacy Mk3? Best regards
No luck with rock auto?
I want to do the same rack upgrade on my 3.0R from 2004. The only issue people are complaining about is VDC problems because it is quicker and takes less to go from lock to lock, thus the computer freaks out because it sees full lock at different software values compared to the stock Legacy rack. Do you know anything about it? Did you have any problems, any dash lights, any error codes when scanning with a tool? Thanks!
I've heard about potential issues with the shorter steering ratio. But I've had zero issues with mine since I did the swap. I also have the 2.5 GT, not sure if the 3.0R is any different. Personally I can't see it being different.
@@zach_lush racks for 2.5 turbo and 3.0 are the same, so the STI will fit mine, I still need to cut some threads and bend the power steering lines like you did, but it's totally doable. I read on a 2014 forum that the issue is only for Outback because it has 17 to 1 ratio, Legacy has 15 to 1, STI has 13 to 1. Legacies usually don't have issues because the difference is not that great, however Outback has. So this is why you don't have issues, Legacy is ok, Outback not so much unless you disable it via the button. Thanks for the reply.
What happens if one doesn’t replace the pillow ball bearings
Well if its broken it will just get worse. Potentially cause further damage.
@@zach_lush ok I see, thanks bro
@@GCASTROOO1 no problem
Hello, my name is Odd Jorstad. I would like to have gotten hold of these 2 hoods for my Subaru forester 2006mod Petrol, as I am going to remove the air pump and everything that has to do with this. Do you know that I can buy something like this?without turbo.. Mr. Odd jorstad
Hey Odd, are referring to the block off plates? You can try ebay or any local aftermarket car shop to you. They aren't too hard to find. Good luck!
@@zach_lushOk, thanks for the info. Have tried to find something online, do you have a link to one of these dealers who might have something like this. This is a Subaru Forester, without turbo. (Engine code EJ204 MVh Odd
@@oddjorstad5007 this isn't something you can get from a subaru dealer. Just search up 'subaru air pump block off plates'. You can buy them online.
@@zach_lushThank you very much for the good tips..
Hey, what do you do with this hole then, after you removed the pipe? Top hole, look for 5 minutes of film..
Hello! Did u have lower control arms as well? It looked like stock lca but I couldnt tell
Yes, the LCA's are still factory
I found the same issue with the 1320 performance master brake cylinder brace. No instructions and no videos. I found it was just like Perrin like you found and I am using those instructions to complete the install on my WRX.
Nice, for the price its not a bad little brace. Im adding another bracket onto it to hold my aftermarket FPR.
you should day mod and great one more time, I think
Take a shot for it
Coming here for help. I paid a shop to do the block off and delete, but now the car has issues starting every time I fill up gas and I’m getting break up under boost. Is there something that maybe was supposed to be plugged that was missed or anything I can check?
What did the shop do to the line coming from the firewall? Is it being vented or blocked? Are the solenoids still there? Also are you on the stock tune still? If so that would cause issues.
@@zach_lush they zip tied the solenoid to the back, and kept it plugged in to the harness. It’s tuned open source. I can check the tube from the firewall and report back! Thanks for the response!
@@Emzy-87 yeah, double check the firewall!
@@zach_lush ya I don’t see anything plugged or re routed coming from the firewall. Wish I could send pics
@@Emzy-87 hmm, I'm not entirely sure then, maybe double check how they kept the solenoids plugged in? I know I had to put them back in. Can't remember which video I showed that.
You didn’t show the snap ring part. The only part i need

@@zach_lush yeah you showed it for literally 1 second and didn’t show how you put it in lol

Hi, I'd love to add steering wheel controls to my Mazda. It hasn't got voice assistant dedicated button, and I wonder if aftermarket stereo can be mapped with a combination of pressing of existing buttons like double press or long press or if I can swap steering command/ whole wheel with more buttons on and get it working?
I'm not familiar with mazda, but assuming you buy a head unit that can accept inputs I cant see it being a problem. I know I've seen heasunits that replace a bunch of plastic trim and fits a 9" screen in there. Definitely worth looking into
@@zach_lush I think I have the same steering wheel, but with few different things. head unit accept input but I don't know if there's a way to set combination input? Which would be the easiest way of getting it working
Thanks for posting this. I have the same problem on my 04 impreza ts. Looks like I have the same job to do.
No problem, just make sure you do a double flare when you do it
Was this just a temporary fix or did the squeaks ever come back? I installed some fortune auto coilovers 3-4 months ago but recently got the SAME annoying loud ass squeaking noise from my FRONT end… now it squeaks nonstop, just going small bumps, driving straight… would love to know the status or an update would be most appreciated!! The noise is so loud and obnoxious it’s driving me insane
The fix ended up being permanent. Haven't had an issue since. If yours is squeaking really loud it might be too late, but might aswell give it a shot!
@@zach_lush it’s about as pictured in this video. The same amounts of squeaking D:
@@zach_lush but what did you mean by “too late”?
@@waybach the bearrings could be destroyed already. Won't know till you try
One time I had a camera man she broke my heart so I stole her stupid rave tickets and went to it and she broke my windshield and slashed my tires a week later hahah good but bad times worth it tho I knew from the beginning it was a kamikaze mission when I started my scumbag activities . Don’t let good love run cold she still a hoe n I have a new camera man twice as exotic but twice as crazy I wouldn’t steal her tickets she’ll slash my throat I know it
How did you connect the steering wheel so that the volume, changing songs and makeing calls button works?
Theres an app on the device where you setup the sterring wheel controls
Awesome - so happy to see her alive again! Gives me hope haha
Thanks, shes been good ever since!
It's funny, I'm in literally the exact same siituation. Ive been watching all the Smeedia, Bader, Off the Line, etc. videos but they always gloss over everything, like the really fine details. Because those are the things that keep catching me up, like thread sizes, fittings, hose types, diameters, etc. You go through everything for someone who has never done it before and it's really helpful (and entertaining). I appreciate the videos!
Not a problem, happy they helped! I had the same issues so figured I'd make my own videos to help people out.
Man this is so helpful as i have my engine out right now. Also my first built engine. Your content/vids are super helpful.
No problem, hopefully its back up soon!

great job, mind me ask how much in total for those works
Thanks, unfortunately they are not works. They are Aodhan DS02's, someday will own some works!
too bad you didn't show us how you routed the driver side brake line.
Its similar very to passenger side, just ran it across the back seat
How did you install the back up camera? What did you attach it to in the front of the car and what did you attach it to in the back?
Theres nothing in the front, also used the provided screws that came with the camera
Ok so two questions the wire on the the plug that I plug into the back of the unit isn’t used? And what did you do with the wires dangling on the end that goes into the actual camera
