Thank you for asking him how his P. Spiritus Sancti died! I so wanted to know! And it's so reassuring to know that even experts kill plants on occasion. I also loved hearing how the P. Paraiso Verde got its name!
I watched an older video that Shaun put out about how he has learned through the death of some plants under his care how much he's learned through the experience of each plant. He also mentioned not to beat ourselves up over the loss because it's just part of the life we live with plants. I'm paraphrasing, of course, but his words definitely made me think and appreciate all my other plants who continue to live so beautifully for me. I value your choice of the word "reassuring" because you're right...it is reassuring to know that experts experience the highs and lows of plant care as well. Reality at it's finest, eh? lol
Sean : you are a great teacher and reporter, so I hope that one day you will also write a book with all these wonderful stories about plants and plant collectors that you met ! 💚❤
Loooooooooooooove the wonderful Mr. Chandra! What a likable and interesting man, I bet he has so many more stories and can teach us so much more about plants. I like this episode a lot Sean, the stories really boost mood and passion toward plants. Especially with senior plant collector, i think this kind of conversation suit best 😁. Too many videos on youtube with review format, and focusing on the plants themselves. But video like this, trully gem. Thank you.
Thank you, Mr. Chandra and Sean (apologies if I misspelled your name)! So many eye candies! 🥰 Mr. Chandra is giving such nice, calm, and papa bear energy. 😊 I hope to visit Indonesia one day and do a plant tour of the nurseries (if that's possible). I love how people call the Philodendron spiritus sancti a unicorn when Dr. Tom Croat said hundreds of Philodendron species are being lost every month to land clearing.
Australia is nearly impossible for potted plants unfortunately… it has one of the strictest import rules in the world. You may be able to bring in seedlings or tissue cultured (sterile) jars though.
Oh well I will continue to cultivate, propagate and grow my own jungle. My plants are my best friends, I love them all and they appreciate all the tlc they receive. I’d really like some rarer species. :)

I love how people call the Philodendron spiritus sancti a unicorn when Dr. Tom Croat said hundreds of Philodendron species are being lost every month to land clearing.
People only know plants once an influencer has posted it… unfortunately. Lots of endemic species in Indonesia are lost too from palm industry
When u visit Pak Noldy also? I'm curious for more stories from him
Oh that is definitely happening. Trying to space out the content a bit but it should be this year or next 😀
Masih ingat dalam clip yang dulu Pak Chandra letakkan Mon. Obliqua dalam sangkar besi berkunci.....
Hehe skrg obliqua udah ga usah di penjara lagi 🥰
