@@dlalleman3874only second year I follow the tour but I believed he blocked Wout Van Art in one of the sprints and generally perhaps could be more careful towards his colleagues I.e not leaving his line etc. But someone else please comment I’m curious too
Sprinters and their lead-out riders need to be fearless-- on the edge of the barriers, bumping each other, tight curves on damp roads. I always chickened out in the tight sprints in my USCF racing days.
Listen Team, here is our strategy. Since we lost 3 out of 4 to Philipsen lets do the same thing so we can give him another win. No breakaways, no attacks , either 2 or multiple attacks coordinated putting pressure on Philipsen team, Nothing of that sit back and drive your winner sprinter to.the finish line. Our sprinter can win so sit back and do nothing.
@@Shrimp0kUgel semi clean, he started the zigzagging till everybody slow down, when he saw no one battling him then. He went more straight. Is a very strong sprinter yes, but he almost crash “on porpoise” 3 previous cyclist that’s why he won those. No body wanna go hospital, this is 2023
It’s because he’s not the fastest rider in the GC. He’s just smashing the sprints. Jonas and Tadej have the fastest times through all 11 stages 🤙 Hope that helps better than the ‘LOL’ guy…
The Tour have several "race within the race" categories. The Green Jersey arguably the most prestigious. The pure sprinters will lose hours of elapsed time during the race, generally barely making it up the mountain stages in time for the cutoff. The overall winner is a rider who can climb and time trial the fastest and most consistently

These bunch sprints mostly come down to nerve and luck. Power matters as well, but only in the last 100 meters or so.
