that slow motion shot of pogacar and vingegaard after the race overlayed with the music and interview clips was a cinematic masterpiece.
Damn, i literally got a goosebumps over this recap. Kudos to the editing team. And what a performance by pogi and ving. Looking forwards for their battle more to come.

This is, by far, the best content in sport right now. Each highlight reel feels like a Hollywood blockbuster. The addition of the real-time team radios with the subtitles is absolutely magnificent, as is the music (particularly the classical), and the slow-mo shots of the rabid fans and the emaciated faces at the finish line. This is as close as most of us get to the Tour each year, and well, this is just outstanding. Thank you for producing such amazing highlights for us, for free no less.
this tour is absolutely ELECTRIC -- haven't been this amp'd since Lance was literally sprinting up the Alps with 150% of the red blood cells you're supposed to have lol

Watching Tadej attack just as Jonas was next to the flare. If Tadej did this to ensure Jonas didnt hear him coming, this is a highly intelligent move. Wild stuff.
I don't think it was the flare. I think he made up his mind when he took that long glance back and saw that it was just the two of them, neither help nor interference coming up from behind.
i think he knew that the fire would get a split second of attention from vine and went for it

I was wondering the same. Appearing to falter on stage five so that the director of Jumbo-Visma would get cocky and try to finish Pogi off on stage six. All that Jumbo-Visma achieved trying to drop Pogi was carry him on their wheels, keeping him fresh and ready to attack at the last minute. Was yesterday's weakness real, or a strategy?

What an incredible day today. Could we be witnessing an even better tour than last year and most people agree last year was one of the best.
I think Jumbo were right to go for the jugular of Pog, everything was set up for it. He had a bad day yesterday and they went over 2000m, which was proven to be where Jonas distanced Pog last couple of years. Pog just got over the hurdle and the final climb looked to be more in favour of Pog, if we look at earlier in season. That being said, listening to Jumbo radio, they were convinced Pog was shot.
It is only stage 6 but we have just witnessed 2 of the best days in the mountains with the pendulum swinging from one extreme to the other. I don't think we could have dreamed to have a 1 and 2 separated by only 25 seconds.
Finally I just want to say just how lucky we all are to be watching this generation of riders, tradition has gone out of the window and they just go full gas day after day. It is like a breath of fresh air.

Seems like Pogacar never has teammates around but Jonas always has someone
If you look at it, both yesterday and today, he didn't take leads and think that is the reason for Jonas not being able to sticking to him.
Pogacar has played this set well, but let's see how Jumbo Visma will go on with pushing all the time on future mountains, as it seems Pogacar has no help there.

I don't know whether they are on some PED's or not which I'm sure they are on. But still, to perform on such brutal conditions, situations, that should be respected. None of us could even come within 30 minutes or an hour though with the best of the best PED's on the planet. So, that's admirable. ✌🏻

This tour man, seriously, it’s been a blockbuster so far, so much more to come. So happy for Jai to have his day in yellow. Obviously never going to be at Tadej & Jonas’ level at the moment but if he can podium this year, and come back next year knowing the level required, could be a contender, maybe, just maybe.

Astonishingly great recaps! Gets better with each one. Watching the two cycling rivals fight each other like gladiators on the Mountains keeps one on the edge of the seat! Just amazing editing and content.
Well at least we still have a race to watch. If Vingegaard have won today, it would have been over for Pogacar!

These highlights are dramatic and great to watch, but for a better summary I recommend watching Laterne Rouge Cycling's clip first, then this one. He gives a more informative walk through of the stage. Then I come here for the dramatic, musical version.

9:23 is the picture that sums up why this is the best rivalry I've ever witnessed in the Tour (following it since the early 90s): Jonas and Tadej push each other to the absolute limit, there's no waiting, waiting, waiting and hoping for a single climb to make a difference like in some years past; they respect each other, the race is fair, yet they are always in attack mode, even if it's just for bonus seconds.
And this stage... Jumbo-Visma did brilliant, brilliant work. The help Jonas has all around, but in particular from Wout and Sepp is unmatched. In my opinion they rode a flawless stage, Tadej was out of teammates early - and he beat them anyway, with a monster of a final acceleration. To me, Pogacar is without a doubt the best rider but Jumbo has probably both the second and third best guys along with a super-domestique and great tactics on the same team. Which makes for incredible entertainment. THANK YOU! To them, to the editing team of the Tour, to the Tour for supporting these phenomenal highlights, to the commentators and to GCN as well for their passionate and competent live coverage. This is sports at its finest
Pogacar v Vingegaard is starting to look like potentially one of THE great rivalries in cycling history. And a lot of mutual respect too by the looks.

i just dont understand why J.V pulled T.F all the way to wout. that was erogant to think that T.P will sit in his wheels and would not have the legs for the finish. the tactic of jumbo was poor

Their immune systems aren't great at the moment and if they get any virus, whether covid or anything else, it effectively ends their tour and also puts their teammates at risk because they spend so much time together in meetings, breakfast etc
