I've had my LBX in UK for 2 months now. The premium plus spec which is a fabulous car. Has many more features than the one shown here. It's no Yaris in drag... a far superior all round car. Absolutely love mine.❤
You are spot on, downsizing is the reason I chose the LBX. I use daily for a month and absolutely love it. It is agile, quiet and 60MPG. In UK, there are higher trims available which offer more features - USB in the back, HUD, electric tailgate, etc. The trunk is big enough - another pros. Agree with ekimandersom, I appreciate Lexus spends efforts integrating the screen, unlike other 'luxury' brands which glue an iPad on the dash and call it done.
Another great review, thank you. Considered the LBX but, here in the UK, the cash and pcp prices, for what it offers, are just too high. Settled on a Mazda CX30 with far superior equipment levels and I went for their excellent manual gearbox. The ‘tech’ in the car, particularly the infotainment is great, no need to take your eye off the road, good old fashioned knobs and buttons with an excellent head up display.😊
@@saltedcod3533 The fuel injectors gave a lot of trouble. DPF filter always getting blocked. Also had some electrical faults. It was also very heavy on juice
Lovely interior, especially in the light colour. Seats look great. Exterior is stylish and classy, not overstyled. The lack of some features would annoy me, but i think its a very nice car.
@@SOMEONE-ME did you watch the review? If you did your see keyless entry and blindspot are missing. I'd expect those on pretty much any half decent new car these days, loads of cars far cheaper and less premium than this lexus have them as standard.

Yeah but the video says you younger guys need to save money to buy a residence. You independently wealthy or did you fall for the slick Lexus adverts with the Japanese blonde?
I’d like to add an update. The battery on this car is so shit, you need to drive the car every other day. Taking the car back for a battery change after just a month of having the car.
@@Donatellanicole I was actually expecting this car to appeal to older people, that have the kids out of the house, the $$$ to buy it and no need for space in the back seats.
Are you getting the hotted up version in Ireland? I’m wondering if this car will make sense as a performance version when that comes out. Or once you lose the hybrid you lose its appeal.
Been watching a few reviews of this and quite frankly, nobody really talked about what it's like to drive, except for you. Thanks for that. I've heard the top-of-the-line LBX has double wishbone suspension in the rear. I wonder if it gives a better ride quality? That model also has AWD, but only with an electric motor, again, on the rear axle which gives out... (wait for it) 6 hp! And because of the extra weight of the motor/battery, it's actually SLOWER to 60mph than the model without AWD. Is it just me, or is that one of the oddest decisions in motoring you've ever heard?..? Needless to say, because of the way this thing looks (absolutely gorgeous), if they bring out the rumoured 300hp GR version, I'd get it like a shot!
I drove one and would have ordered but the black roof lining too claustrophobic and no panoramic sunroof option to try and break up the blackness. Exterior I wish wheel arches were body coloured or gloss black not cheap matt black plastic.
Yeah annoys me here in Oz. Lexus Australia are only offering the black interior. Cream seems to be the go in a smaller car. Light colours give a sense of space.
In fairness the LBX is stylish and good looking, however I will never understand these Irish crap trim levels. I have an LBX too with the higher spec levels (meaning +2 USB C charging ports at the back seat and +2 USB C in front below the shifter, a wireless phone charging pad, black interior and roof). I cannot understand why did they not include all the safety systems, the electric boot opening and HUD into the Irish market specs (No you cannot even buy them for paying extra). But with removing all important features the price is also much higher than on any European markets with better trim levels. The ride quality is nice, however, as mentioned the suspension feels a bit sporty rather than luxury and the engine noise especially driving uphill is louder without significant power coming with it. In flat roads the car's power is enough and ok, but I could imagine a 1.8 engine in it. The touch and feel of the materials in general is nicer and feels more luxury, but Lexus should really do something with the options on the irish market. There's only 2 interior options 1 with each trim levels take it or leave it. Would I buy it again? Probably yes as the exterior of the car is beutiful and the interior is much more welcoming as a Toyota, however, not leaving the customers fully satisfied. What I see is that the car is an ideal solution or the younger generation of the wealthy families, or couples without kids and pets. As you could hear in the review as well 4 people can fit in for shorter trips also, but wouldn't risk a bigger roadtrip with 4 adults in it.
Totally different market obviously but consider you'd almost get two entry level mg3 hybrids for the price of a top spec one of these! Suspect we won't see many of these on the roads I think if you want a car like this where it doesn't need to be a family car then I think a Toyota CHR would be a much better buy
I actually think that the updated C-HR is nicer than this. It also has blind spot monitoring on the wing mirrors, powered boot, ambient lighting, fully digital instrument cluster and wireless Android Auto.
It seems that C-HR has more features and rather stunning exterior. On the other hand, LBX interior looks much better and all LBXes are made in Japan, while C-HRs in Turkey. Edit: I own the C-HR 2024 and it has gaps between exterior plates. The LBX in the video looks flawless!
The quicker way to stop the audible notification when breaking the speed limit is to, settings driver assist press, notifications press, then just press for visual only press ok, the car will still beep if you go into a higher or lower speed area.
I'm 27, and I'm interested, so yeah I think Lexus might be right about appealing to some younger people. I mean, I was looking at an Arkana, but let's be fair, a lexus will be better.
Bit like the old days when merc made the A class, but it's not clever enough or as original in its design as the 2nd gen A cLASS.. Back seats should slide back & forth for the grandkids or golf clubs etc. Things like slide down sun screens for the wee ones. Pitch it for oldies with grandkids or young parents who want a quality brand they trust. It should have usbc in rear. personally it's not my cup of tea. small nippy cars are better on crowded roads. Wouldnt swap my VW E UP for anything. I've got two cars and a van. Girlfriend drives in an E up too. Perfect for city living. plenty of go, handles beautifully and it has a familiar interior. Why on earth would anyone want to spend all day touching a screen to make the car warmer. OR indicate??????!!!!!!
The one thing Lexus NEVER get right is the steering wheel. It's ugly and bulbus. Still I'd want it! Glad Lexus are doing smaller cars, I don't need or want a big car. I do want something more premium though!
Mark. Great review. Honest as always. Try to be generous.... A Toyota in drag. With bad makeup! Very odd. Yes a sort of Audi Q2 " replacement". Aimed squarely at Lexus downsizers with a double pension and a Golf club membership.... Bullseye! 🤣🤣
I'm trading in my Puma for one of these. The Puma drives better and is more powerful. Actually I love it but its so unreliable I'm done. I just got charged more than £700 because a sidelight died! (they needed to replace the whole light unit which are £639 parts only).
