i've been on the market for the audi a3/q2/q3 for my mrs, acidentally we've visited lexus, ordered lbx two weeks later, it's better quality, cheaper and it has so much more and better tech and i'm audi fanboy
Always enjoy your reviews Howard. Not in the market to buy this Lexus but still watched this episode to experience your real life review combined with good sense of humour and excellent presentation. Please keep these decent videos coming Sir
Not sure if everyone is suffering from collective amnesia but CT200H back in the day was the only true budget Lexus we had in recent years. This thing costs as much as a Prado or a Kia Carnival, CT200H was half the price on launch.
It also has a mechanical opening for door handle from outside. Move your hand towards the forward of the handle. Underneath, there is a little piece that comes out in case the battery is somehow drained (long term not using. Etc) So you can still mechanically open the doors from outside. Visible at 7:57
A great review! Thank you. I was looking at the Toyota Yaris Cross for mpg efficiency, but after seeing and test-driving the LBX, the Yaris Cross had no chance. The design and interior of the LBX are in a different league altogether.
Lexus LBX sounds more like a radio station than the name for a car 🤔😲 😅🤣😂 Great review as per the norm from our Howie. Lovely kittens. I want one! Nice Golden Cocker Spaniel. But I still don't really see the point of a plug in Hybrid.
Never understood the love for sunroofs in cars, but people still want another point of fail and expensive repairs for the future, so manufactures and mechanics love sunroofs. If you want to experience nature and sun just walk more during the day. If you want more light inside get a brighter interior. Anyway they have it as an optional package, thankfully not mandatory
Also, as an Australian, they need to have a fabric internal cover. People here do not like panoramic sunroofs without internal covers. No matter how good the tinting, the sun bakes you.
Does anyone know whether the LBX is likely to suffer with the same battery problem as the Yaris Cross? (Refusal to start if you only make short journeys or use the car infrequently - I believe some Yaris Cross owners have been plagued by this.)
I don’t know the answer, but I can tell you that after owning a Yaris cross for 1 and a half years, we have never had a battery issue. I will admit, however, that we drive it at least once a week.
hmm, that was the whole point of those cars, to be smaller than the NX, some people don't want to make their day harder by moving with a big car in a crowded city, when they don't even need the space of the bigger car in the first place
We are not “youth, cool, young at heart”. Indeed, we are 78 and 79 years old and our January order will arrive in late October (Queensland) after we return from Japan and Taiwan. We have ordered the top of the range 4WD in red with a black roof. Why buy it? Because it complements our Lexus NX450H+ f Sport 2023. We wanted a car that has all the same instruments and safety assets and less space required in a shopping centre parking area. We were expecting to buy a full EV however we don’t like the idea of full EV. We have a big solar array with 16kW of batteries so just having a hybrid with a low fuel consumption made sense. When you get to our age, if you have to ask the price, you can’t afford it. Our Citroen is going to one grandson and we have 2 x KIA Picantos on order for October delivery for our twin grandsons. October will be a busy and expensive month.
I'm in Victoria, mine is coming end of Nov - I am counting down the days! My friend who owns a car yard & deals with all types of cars (cheap/expensive) told me Lexus is the best! 🥰
You are also adding the price of another car on top of the LBX to get the NX and the difference in luxury do not justify it at all. The only thing that justify it would be if you really need the size. IF you need a bigger SUV no LBX price or added-feature is going to justify going for the Lbx
As you are a brit I don't understand your NASA tee shirt (previous logo...). Your American cousin will always let you down, whatever your prime minister...
Leather is obscene, so out of date and hopeless for car interiors, given temperature extremes. Totally unnecessary to use slaughtered animals. Definitely a car to avoid. Looks deathly dull as well
I agree BUT I'd understood that the leather is man-made on this Lexus. My friend has a mercedes and it's also man-made leather - Progress and YIPPEEEE!😉 😘🐕🐈&😘🐄🐖🐑🐣

Lexus is the best ❤

I had a CT200H , great little car despite the useless backseat … wish I still had it (have an NX now)
You can program the function to open and close the windows with the remote at your dealer :) Stated in the last sites from the manual in a huge table.

Best car reviewer ever! Just fabulous. Keep them coming Howard.
Once again a great review.
Hate sun roofs so perfect for me!
can i ask please - i am waiting if 2025 LBX have panoramic sunroof? any idea?
Cracking little SUV - a Lexus CT for the 21st Century.
Leather or leatherette ?

@@thezanzibarbarian5729 Right. Because that it’s NOT a Plugin Hybrid. It’s a full hybrid that don’t need to be charged via plug
@@minka25 My bad. I thought it was a PHEV 🤔😬
@@thezanzibarbarian5729 jeah that’s the problem most people have. They hear hybrid and have a plug in in mind
Why not? For a daily driver and with living in a house for example to plug it in everyday, I think it's great thing to have.
How's the maintenance on one of these?
Lexus did an amazing job differentiating it from its Toyota equivalent

There you go, there's a debate if ever we saw one.:)

Don’t worry about a sunroof anymore!! Had several cars with one ,hardly ever used it and had a couple that had a leaking issues!
Wasn’t the CT200h the first budget’ Lexus?
is 200
What sun?
4:49 that's just not true. Lexus vehicles are known for holding their value well, and there are statistics that support this.

This year Toyota changed the 12 volt battery to help with this issue.
@@RussMEagle Thanks for that info! If they'd done that quicker I'd have bought one but have since then gone with a Mazda CX-30!
love it, can i ask how Tall you are Howard ?
6ft 1
Test drove one today... mandatory speed limit warnings and a poor infotainment interface let's it down
The best leather? It's man made unless I missed something
this is a BYD Atto 3 facelift...same as Toyota Bz3x

Lexus LBX and UX are too small.
Best go for Lexus NX - perfect size and perfect suitability.
Depends who you are and what you want. I’ve owned the RX, NX, UX and now this LBX Takumi…….and I love it. Suits me perfectly
Everybody has different needs. NX is not perfect for a lot of people because unnecessary too big!

It is gorgeous real leather…..unless you’ve chosen the vegan leather option
