Great review, subbed 😊 I’m ordering my LBX next month and currently on my third Toyota Hybrid. So impressed with the LBX after an extensive test drive!
I have bi tone black and passionate yellow. I love it! Great ergonomics in the cockpit. Great for small people like me! Driving it is pure zen! ❤ highly recommend
@@asianskywalker Yes I do. There's a lot of drag manufacturing, Citroën /Peugeot, the list goes on. I dislike the Mazda 2 hybrid to be balanced... it's just a Yaris with a Mazda badge.
@@Markthismomentintimeexactly what point are you failing to make here? Lexus is owned by Toyota and every single model they have sold in the last 20odd years bar their halo models is quite literally a heavily re-engineered Toyota model…

Enjoyed the review and have had our LBX Premium for just 2 months; downsized from a Volvo XC60 and am impressed with the comfort of the seats which was always a big Volvo plus for me. Very comfortable, relaxing to drive, easy to park and great economy. Long past my "boy racer" days so this fits the bill perfectly!

A really top quality review Brian, best I’ve seen in years. I actually ordered a Takumi Design LBX YESTERDAY! And, I’m so glad I’ve watched this review by yourself - it just confirms all that I hope the car will be. Many thanks Mark B 🇬🇧
I have the yaris cross gt sport and I love it but looking at this Lexus I think I might go for this one when my 3 years are up on my motorbility, so thank you for your indepth info on this Lexus very luxurious xx
Yep totally agree a beautifully sized steering wheel that feels like velvet. I think they designed the cockpit that it feels like your holding the reins on a horse and it is, you’re looking straight ahead with no distractions and big portrait like touchscreens. I don’t even see the top of my steering wheel driving! It’s a great driving position, sitting position seems perfectly aligned to your hips!
Well done. Really appreciate the video. Am honestly thinking of getting this car I am a sucker for quality. And the price does not seem to bad. Think I'll go for the premium plus
I was the same - test drove both - Concluded that the UX had been around for a while and would be likely to go out of production during my ownership. Loving my LBX.
We don’t need map pockets, we have sat navs in the car and with our phones! I’ve had two in the last number of my cars and I haven’t used them for years!
I have to day, after watching your review I consider the Yaris Cross to be the much better car, and a lot cheaper too. Also the Yaris can have all wheel drive.
I can't decide whether to go with this car or the new Toyota CHR. The engine size of the Lexus puts me off a bit, as the new CHR come in 1.8 or 2.0L. I currently drive a bright orange NX Lexus Sport, so definitely loving the yellow colour of the LBX. This is the best review of this car I've seen, very thorough
@@StigPrice Well, my car hasn't done 50k miles yet, so it's got plenty of legs in it before I change. I like looking at cars though, took me about a year to decide to get the NX, lol! I looked at the CHR back in 2019, but was only a 1.2 or 1.4L (0 to 60mph in 4mins) put me off. Now it's a 2.0L I'm thinking 'That's more like it!' I don't really need such a big car there days, but I do love the NX is nice and high to get into. It's called a cross-over, but it's more like the height of an SUV. All these cross-overs aren't really much higher than non-cross-overs. So who knows what I'll get. The NX hasn't seem to be much updated in 5 years, which is a bit naff
@@StigPrice yeah, I'll stick with it for a couple of years at least I reckon. It's just a bit crappy, as I said, it doesn't seem to have any gadgets added to it in years
I was looking for a small SUV and ended up driving the lexus lbx and the yaris cross. I ended up choosing the Yaris cross premiere due to practicality and space. Lexus lbx drove and felt well built though 👌
Thanks for the review. It looks like a cross between a CH-R and a Duke. Which is what myself and my wife drive. Do this only come with leather seats? I'm considering changing my CH-R for either one of these or a Cupra Tavascan. But after your review, although it looks nice it's a no for me.
I have had a Lexus RX for many years and it has been the mosr relible car I have owned. The others included, Mercedes, Volvo, BMW, Audi, Saab plus numerous company vehicles. They all had a left hand indicator stalk including the Lexus so why have they changed sides in this one. 25.27?
It may be to do with the fact that the hard points of the Yaris Cross can’t be changed without significant re engineering, such as the electronics for the steering column. Not many Lexus products are based so heavily on another car like the LBX is, so that’s probably the reason.
Thanks for the review Brian - OK I haven't driven the car but I must confess I am not really convinced by the small car excursion from Lexus. I think this will dilute the brand image. I remember when the (then) mighty BMW produced a smaller FWD car and they just went backwards from there. It's a race to the bottom perhaps? Maybe some well heeled silver surfer city dwellers may want to downsize to one of these baby Lexi. But £40k is very strong money for this car segment. Also the most expensive creep into the horrible luxury car tax VED spiders web ripoff. On balance I wouldn't have one and most buyers will be perfectly happy with the cheaper Toyota mini-suv version. I would expect the cheaper Toyotas will hold their value better. The better engineered balancer shafts and suspension will be lost on most people who drive their small cars round town for 90% of their journeys.
Interestingly, the balancer shafts, the improved soundproofing and the thicker glass have found their way into the face-lifted Yaris Cross. I've got a year old GR Yaris Cross and also just picked up a new Yaris Cross Premiere edition; the newer car is much quieter.
Have had an LBX Premium Plus Design (so a mid-spec model) since the end of June. 1,500 miles on the clock and enjoyed every single one. It isn’t the fastest car or one with the most space behind the front seats, but it’s perfect for what we need. Lots of things to praise but the top 3 are probably the build quality, the relaxing drive and the fuel economy (average 62mpg since new). Lexus customer service to date matches their reputation (the best I’ve experienced) and the potential 10 year warranty cover rounds everything off nicely. Thank you, this is an excellent review. Comprehensive and fair.
Finally something small enough to sell in backwards countries like Greece, that still penalize larger engines, actually anything approaching 2.0L (that's big in Greece, not Japan)
It is a very good car, I am sure that it provides excellent value. SAid that, its design, both inside and outside, feels like a car from 5-10 years ago to me
Can't get into it , bought the luxury, and it's way too small , no storage, YES it is agood car for someone who is 5ft tall, it's definitely a woman's car. I deeply regret buying it. It needs to grow by 2ft.
Desperately dull, no design effort at all. Leather us obscene; slaughtered animals when better alternatives exist. Tasteless and shameful in equal measure.
Stop waffling on and get to the point you talk talk but don't get to the point,it's just to small I hit my knees against the steering wheel every time I get in. The best lexus, my god who's paying you. You want the truth, listen to the review by jersey Clarkson, an honest review. If you like to be a sardine. Buy one. Ive got mine 2 months and I hate it. No proper storage on the doors , no overh3ad storage for glasses ,struggle to get in and out, and the noot is so small. I really regret buying this car, yes lexus are a quality car , But I should have bought a bigger model.
Then don’t blame me for your mistake! I like it. And I’ll say so. Nobody pays me, it’s an opinion. Like the one you have, only different to it. Are you being paid by a rival manufacturer to say terrible things about it? No. So what makes you think I’m being paid to say nice things about it? Jeremy Clarkson is not an influence on my opinion. It’s his. Mine is mine. Stop with the silly accusations and accept people have different viewpoints.
