You are right Carla! You had to be there to experience it! The 90’s produced some of the best music! As the 2000’s approached, it started to go downhill! R and B went out of the window! It was a great time! Great comment! ❤😎
That's the Way Love Goes" is one of Janet Jackson's biggest hits in the United States and around the world…It was one of the longest-reigning hits of 1993, topping the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks, To date, it is the longest running number-one single of any member of the Jackson family on the Hot 100. The “Janet” album produced many hits including this one.
They don't know about any other members of The Jackson family but Michael, cause they just flat out refuse to do any other member. Including the Jacksons themselves. They were confused when they did a Jermaine track a few weeks back.
The 'Janet' album of 1993 was a worldwide phenomenon... UK bought it in the millions, if you don't do anything else this year, promise you will listen to the entire album. It will blow your minds, ps my first child was made listening to it, so maybe I'm biased... Keep up the good work!
J lo was a dancer on "In Living Color" that's how she got her start. This is my favorite from her Janet album. Not very many people react to her, they are truly missing out. Janets discography is just as good as Michaels IMO.
1993's Janet album is her Greatest Masterpiece in my opinion! Should have gotten nominated for Album of the year! Although, That's the way Love goes did win Best R&B Song at the Grammys.
But only after discerning the lyrics. They wouldnt play it in SE Va. "This is a family station", the DJ disdainfully said as he scratched the record removing it from the turntable.
Love Janet. Other Janet songs from 90's: 1. "Runaway" - 1995 2. "Love Will Never Do (Without You)" - 1990 3. "All For You" - 2001 4. "Alright (Ft. Heavy D)" - 1990 5. "Miss you Much" - 1989
I've been requesting "Again" for 2 years. It was a #1 hit later in 1993. This is my absolute FAVORITE of Janet's CDs. A couple of the non-single releases could've easily been #1 hits.
Her song Together Again got me through losing my dad. He passed away in Nov 1997. He was 52 yrs old. I was 29 yrs old and a daddy’s girl. Janet definitely helped me at that time for sure
Wow! I just saw Janet Jackson's show on Friday night for my birthday! She's still got! What a performance, and in 85-degree muggy St Louis summer nights! Nelly was the warm act! So glad I went! She is a legend!💯👍
One of the great things about Janet is how she always brings her team front and centre. All the women in this video are her dancers from this time and they regularly featured with her in everything she did at the time. She also had one of the most highly respected choreographers, Tina Landon, who is the woman sitting by the coffee table with the short brown hair and the white halter top. 90’s Janet was phenomenal and any girl I knew watched the videos on repeat to be able to copy the dancing. Truly special from all of them.
Janet has always made dance and love songs throughout her 51-year career in entertainment. This is just 1 of her many hits in the 90s. As you continue to review her catalog of videos, you will enjoy the many facets of Janet. JLO has said that Janet was a huge influence for her getting into the entertainment industry , and of course, Janet was a television actress at 9 years old before her music career began in the 80s. Thanks for another great review.😊
Janet's song "Again" is really nice, "If" is killer, "Together again" & "Runaway". Angie Stone has some bangers "No more Rain" and "Wish I didn't miss you".
OH HELL YES!!! I was so hoping you all would get to Janet 90s, cause truly this is where Janet separates from most of her peers she started with, her R&B & Hip Hop bag were just as good as the pop & dance. I'm glad Jay waited a bit & opened up cause really with the songs listed, this fits THOSE this is served in the same vein as Jodeci & Mary J. Blige. I'll be back with a good R&B 90s list. It's the last decade that R&B was truly GREAT.
Also once you see J.Lo as Selena you'll never not see her as an actress to date its her best role.....and we been wanting yall to do that 1 for a reason
Amber would be correct. Jennifer Lopez began her career as a dancer, performing with artists, such as MC Hammer and New Kids on the Block, as well dancing in other artists music videos. She was one of the Fly Girls on seasons 3 and 4 of the sketch comedy TV series, In Living Color, but left the show to become a backup dancer for Janet Jackson before breaking out as an actress and singer. J-Lo has a pretty extensive filmography, spanning from 1993 to the present day. Her roles as Selena Quintanilla-Pérez in the 1997 biopic, "Selena," and Ramona Vega in the 2019 film, "Hustlers," both earned her Golden Globe nominations. You should check out some of her films, as well as her music catalog. She's put out a number of hit songs over her career.
@@bluedragon4 Correction: Jennifer Lopez used background singers. For example, Ashanti recorded reference tracks for "I'm Real (Remix)" and "Ain't It Funny (Remix)," a common practice in the music business, and they kept Ashanti's background vocals in the final mixes, but it's J-Lo singing the lead vocals. This was done on a number of J-Lo tracks. "Ain't Your Mama" features background vocals from Meghan Trainor, who co-wrote the song, and recorded the demo. It's a common practice for recording artists to use background singers on their tracks. The whole "ghost singer" rumor was started by people who know nothing about the music business. The rumor has been debunked by producers and singers who worked with J-Lo, but people like you wanna keep it going. Secondly, how you feel about J-Lo's filmography is your opinion. And if her movies weren't great, she wouldn't have earned two Golden Globe nominations. Lastly, J-Lo might have a "diva" attitude, but so does Mariah Carey and a bunch of other celebrities when the fame and success goes to their heads. So what? It doesn't take away from her talent, which you don't seem to think she has. J-Lo wouldn't be where she is today without some level of talent.
Jlo was a Fly Girl during this time on a sketch comedy show, In Living Color. But she's been in about 40 films, so she's as much an actor as a singer at this point
@@natsohigh5552 she's an entertainer. I don't get all of the JLo hate as of late. All of a sudden people are coming for her. The same thing happened to Anne Hathaway and it so wasn't deserved.
@@natsohigh5552 that’s been my observation, yes. As of late it seems people are trying to cancel her for whatever reason. You actually thought you did something there and put me in my place somehow? Someone can correct me if im wrong, think JLo started as a dancer on the late 80s comedy sketch show In Living Color as one of the fly girl dancers which also put Jim Carrey on the map as one of the main stars of the show
"That's the Way Love Goes" is such a smooth track. Janet did her thing...as usual!! (In terms of J-Lo as an actress, check out her movie, "Enough". It's pretty good.)
This song was #1 for 8 weeks. Longer than any of Michael's songs. Other huge Janet hits from the 90's - "All for You" - #1 for 7 weeks and "Love Will Never Do Without You" which also hit #1. Also, I think of Jennifer Lopez was more of an actress - remember she played "Selena" in the movie of the same name which really put her on the map. Jay and Amber, thanks for getting back to Janet! Such a great song. Hope you can listen to my favorites: Love Will Never Do Without You and Together Again. I think you’ll groove to both of them!
I love how this is such a chill Janet song. I hope you guys check out the Michael and Janet video for the song "Scream." You guys should also check out the group TLC and their song "Creep."
I clicked this video as soon as I saw the song! I grew up hearing a VAST variety of music. Anything from Motown to Black Sabbath and everything in between but nothing hits my soul the way 90's music does. Janet is definitely an artist that comes to mind when thinking of that decade. "Again" is another slower song that hits just right (unless you're longing for someone in particular) it's definitely one to check out.
My god Jay what planet are you on that you don’t know Jennifer Lopez has been in films. She was just another background dancer in Janet’s videos. She started as a dancer. You need to expand your horizons. Love you Amber.

I am a rocker and picky about what R&B/Jazz tunes I listen to , and this is one of my faves. Check out Norman Brown's jazz guitar version of this. It is soooo smooth and is far better than other instrumental versions of this tune.
My favorite Janet CD - every song! I was 34 in 1993 when this was released, and I bought it right away. I took it on my first cruise that Spring, and now when I hear this and the other songs, I remember that cruise. Very special memory. I will see Janet in July in Washington DC🤗😍
J lo has sooooo many good movies... The Cell, The wedding planner, enough... and my favorite Angel Eyes... she is such a epic actress... Great song choice. 😊
This song is truly infectious. One of her greatest, most sensuous singles to date. Such a huge hit, rocketing Janet into the super atmosphere of stardom.
Yah, my first memory of J.Lo in anything was as a Fly girl from 'In Living Color'. BTW, when you do start with her music, start with her debut song 'If You Had My Love'. It's late 90's awesome. ✌️
I will never forget. I was at our favorite Club with my good friend in the mid 2000s when the DJ put this Jam on and I am not kidding you EVERYBODY hit the Dance Floor immediately!! Me and my friend danced together and it was like one of those Moments in a Movie.. a very rare Awesome Moment in Time that only happens occasionally in life.. We were all so happy, all of us on the dance floor, having a time together.. My friend, Julian, tragically passed away a few years after that just in his early 30s.. Such a great memory of him to be left with though! My favorite Janet song for sure!!
Jay, Jennifer Lopez got her big break as one of The Fly Girls on the TV show “In Living Color” in the early 90s and became a huge actress (check her out opposite George Clooney in “Out Of Sight”) in addition to a major recording artist. My favorite song of hers in the millennium closing Waiting For Tonight.
Great ladies' R&B songs: 1. "Love Shoulda Brought You Home" by Toni Braxton/1992 2. "Unbreak My Heart" by Toni Braxton/1996 3. "Saving All My Love For You" by Whitney Houston/1985 4. "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston/1992 (originally done by Dolly Parton in 1973) 5. "Come Share My Love" by Miki Howard/1986 6. "Giving Him Something He Can Feel" by En Vogue/1992 (originally done by Aretha Franklin in 1976) 7. "Ex-Factor" by Lauryn Hill/1998 8. "Killing Me Softly" by The Fugees with Lauryn Hill on lead vocals/1996 9. "Kissin' You" by Total/1996 (girl group for Amber!) 10. "Baby Come To Me" by Regina Belle/1989
This is actually one of Janet's biggest hits ever.

This song is smooth as butter! Janet Jackson was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. She is so deserving! 😎❤️
Not 1 I remember, I remember Alright with Me and that album
No it's not , Rhythm Nation is
Trust me, you want to watch the video to "If" but you want the all dance version. She is popping and locking the hell out of "If!"
I love the all dance version! ❤
The all dance version is the only one I watch
“if” was her best video just for the dancing. She killed it! She also killed the performance of that song at the VMAs.
Great choice for a Janet Jackson song, love the riff in that song!
If. Is the best.
It’s not slow….it’s Silky Smooth!
absolute fact
They react to so much Rock they can't appreciate R&B/Soul.
Right? They need to check out the smooth choreo for this song when she performed it at the VMAs.
These people don’t get it. This is classic Janet
Believe me when Janet Jackson dropped this tune. Everyone hit the dance floor with their Boo's
I love 90's Janet. This song is a perfect example of what most 90's R&B was, just so smooth.
J Lo's movie acting career was launched when she played Selena in the bioptic movie 'Selena' in 1997.
Lol I just put that on the comment to.
Actually she was in Money Train with Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson in like 1995.
I liked her in The Wedding Planner

I love how this is such a chill Janet song. I hope you guys check out the Michael and Janet video for the song "Scream." You guys should also check out the group TLC and their song "Creep."
Janet Jackson, ALL FOR YOU. nice up temple song
Love Will Never Do Without You.
I loved this song. The whole cd was great.
My favorite Janet song and video.
My god Jay what planet are you on that you don’t know Jennifer Lopez has been in films. She was just another background dancer in Janet’s videos. She started as a dancer. You need to expand your horizons. Love you Amber.
Technotronic - " Pump Up The Jam " (Official Video) 80's to 90s Club Dance Music classics Female Vocalist 🎤🎼you guys gonna Jam to this awsome song Great Sound Grooves Hi Tempo
I am a rocker and picky about what R&B/Jazz tunes I listen to , and this is one of my faves. Check out Norman Brown's jazz guitar version of this. It is soooo smooth and is far better than other instrumental versions of this tune.
If Jay wants fast Janet, react to “If” and “All For You”.
IF was great and the video is some hot stuff!
And definitely watch the video for "If".
This album, "Janet," is pure fire. So good! You must listen/watch to more videos from this album. It's fantastic.
Forever classic! Rhythm Nation, Velvet Rope, and the album the song is on (Janet). are amazing and influential
Jennifer Lopez started as a Flygirl in the show In Living Color. Which btw, is a must watch. Now that is comedy!!!
This is a vibe! Friends get together and chill and have a great time.
OMG “If” is a good one by her.
She is beautiful and have a beautiful voice, stilled listening today’s ❤❤❤
This is Janet in a smooth r&b vibe.
Yah, my first memory of J.Lo in anything was as a Fly girl from 'In Living Color'.
BTW, when you do start with her music, start with her debut song 'If You Had My Love'. It's late 90's awesome. ✌️
This is my favorite song by her and then Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friends with Herb Alpert. And I still love Janet's outfit.
One of the great pop songs of the 90s. So smooth, so sexy. Plus J-Lo! Jay, you NEED to get on "Love Don't Cost a Thing"!!!
