One of my favorites of hers. "When I Think of You" is another.
My favorite!!
yeah.. that was the jam.. music video was epic.. mostly one shot.
Agreed. It's a very catchy, upbeat song with a sweet bass line and horns, so Amber would like it. The video for it is also impressive. It was made to look like it was done in one long, continuous take, and although there are three very well hidden cuts in it, considering the amount of people, choreography, and action as the camera moves across and through the set, the fact they were able to do the whole thing with only three cuts is pretty amazing. There was a lot of buzz about it when it came out on MTV.
Yes,yes, yes!!! When I Think of You!
That's the way love goes
Rhythm Nation 1814 is the finest album of Janet's career. Nothing else comes close.
You ought to do Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson "Scream", best brother and sister duet.
... plus the most expensive music video to this day I believe
Totally agreed. Scream is a masterpiece.
The video and song still hit hard today.
Yes, please react to "Scream"! It is such an awesome song/video/experience!😁👍
Agreed 💯!!!!
Love Janet Jackson... "Black Cat", "The Pleasure Principle", "Miss You Much", "All For You" and if you want to see a very gorgeous and smiley Ms. Jackson watch "Love Will Never Do" its so beautiful!! These are just myfavorite Ms. Jackson songs!!
Some good calls there!
Excellent choice! You MUST MUST MUST react to Love Will Never Do (Without You)! It is by far the best she has ever looked in a video, and the song is perfection.
Great video!
Agreed. Stunning video! 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Yes! This one is my favorite of hers! Something for everyone in the video too 😄
Yessss !!!!
My favorite video!
The documentary about her was fascinating. She really went against all the advice/recommendations she was getting in the industry and paved her own way.
What's the name of the documentary if u don't mind me asking
@@clarissagarza7284 Hi. It was just called Janet Jackson, 4 episodes aired in January of 2022 over 2 nights.
It was a really good watch and as Scapita said very fascinating.
@@rosslad thanks so much. I'll have to find it. Hopefully it's on RUclips
Hey. She's a Jackson. She was born for this, and knows how to not get pushed around in that crazy industry. She's been in show biz since she was 11 or 12, maybe younger. It helps when you come from a family of superstars.
@@clarissagarza7284 I think it's on Hulu. Originally aired on A&E, so may be there too.
Janet made us all feel so good in the 80’s…she is beautiful inside and out and it just somehow always comes through in her music. Loved this!! ❤️
You should check out the video for “If” by Janet Jackson sometime!
Love Janet Jackson ❤ She had Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis producing her sound back then
Yep, straight out of Prince's camp.
She yells "Minneapolis!" towards the end of the song in a little shoutout their town and where it was recorded.
She reunited with Jam & Lewis for _Unbreakable..._ Have you heard "Night"?
"BLACK CAT"
"COME BACK TO ME"
"LOVE WILL NEVER DO WITHOUT YOU"
"ALRIGHT"
"THAT'S THE WAY LOVE GOES"
"LET'S WAIT AWHILE"
"IF"
"THE KNOWLEDGE"
great songs.
You must go down the Janet Jackson catalog. My favorite AGAIN, DOESN'T MATTER, ANYTIME ANYPLACE, LET'S WAIT A WHILE, SOMEONE TO CALL MY LOVER..ohh shout out to ms Gherri from Martin in this video..lol
MORE JANET PLEASE! Especially the 90's Janet.
I have had a crush on Janet sense she was on Good Times. Back in the 70's
Janet had so many hits in the late 80s & into the 90s.
Such good days.
She & Madonna are the only artists to ever top the Billboard Hot 100 in three different decades.
@@jp3813 Michael was too.
@@legacymusic8504 True.
"Love Will Never Do Without You" and "That's the Way Love Goes" are some more great Janet tunes!!
"Love will never do without you" is literally EVERYTHING!!! ❤❤❤
“Love Will Never Do Without You” is one of my favorite videos of Janet’s. After a battle with weight, her follow up album to Control brought out a more sexy and confident Janet. The video to “Love Will Never Do Without You” I think shows the new confidence she found in her new tone body. To me she has always been gorgeous, but the video captures it.
YES TWO OF THE BEST !
Y’all must jump to Janet in the 90’s with “If” or “ I Get Lonely”
Your next Janet song needs to be "Miss You Much". But, do the "extended" version. Her moves are fire, and the song is a total jam!! 🔥
Yes!! Love that song and video SO much! The Chair Routine in the video is a must♥️
Escapade! My favorite JJ song! And right behind it is Love Will Never Do (Without You) with a young Djimon Honsou. Gorgeous smile he has. Love both videos and their feel-great vibe.
After Escapade were the singles Alright, Black Cat, Come Back To Me , Love Will Never Do (Without You) and for Italian release only State Of The World.
@@dalee72 (grinning). I’m aware. Was a teen during these songs. Big JJ fan back then. I meant that Love Will Never Do is my second favorite, not on a timeline. Sorry for the confusion.
One of my favorite songs by her!!! She is my favorite female artist! She is currently on tour, still doing her thang at 56 years young! Loved the reaction and I agree, such a fun song!
If - Janet Jackson. J/A completely confident both of you will love this dance banger! Love to see you react to it!
To me, her best AND most iconic song is That’s the Way Love Goes. It was EVERYTHING in the 90s! Slow and sexy, just like Janet. You won’t believe how different she looks then in the official music video. Also, a young Jennifer Lopez appears in the video. It’s a classic for sure.
Always loved Janet, but she was extra beautiful in that video. 😍
I believe Love Will Never Do (Without You) was the biggest turning point of her career. It concluded the Rhythm Nation era with a complete overhaul transformation especially the music video directed by Herb Ritts featuring Antonio Sabato Jr. We wanted more in 1991 but we had to wait until 1993. It opened up the next chapter for the janet. evolution era and her sound, her image, the music videos, choreography became more feminine than the militant masculine hard dancing of RN 1814 videos, tour
Another Terry Lewis and Jimmy jam tune. This song kicks ass. It also shows that Prince owned the 80s
What memories! I'm driving my Mustang with the top down, going slow, round and round the circle in the park with twenty other cars all blasting the same radio station playing Escapade😎
Sheila E also rocks! The Glamorous Life and Love Bizarre are both awesome songs. Both great for female Fridays
Yes. The live versions of either are good, too. She goes crazy on her drums. And I like "A Love Bizarre", just a hair bit more, but still.
Sheila E - just amazing. What a talented woman, and so beautiful
Imagine growing up without Janet as your soundtrack to life 😮 my heart breaks just thinking that 😂 ive loved Janet since I was a little girl ❤ literally said I wanted to be Janet Jackson when i grew up 😂
Thank you so much guys for reacting to this great song!! Another fun and upbeat Janet song I recommend is "Alright" which came out in the spring of 1990. The video is fantastic and is a throwback to the music of yesterday. There is also a cameo in the video by Cab Calloway whom you have reacted to in the past. You would definitely enjoy it.
Jay & Amber, You'll love her song "Again", my favorite from her!!! Talented singer and dancer!!
2:42 - LOL! She can't help herself! It feels that good!
The one earing hoop with a key.... the torn Flashdance sweatshirt.... and the blazers with shoulder pads... Oh the memories.
I put a key on my hoop earring after this video came out
🔑😂🤣🤣🤦🏼♀️
Wow. Three 80s hits in one day. Awesome.
This song came out in 1990
Did you really take time out of your life to write that response.
There's something about watching an entertainer smiling the whole time. She looks like she's having fun and it's contagious.
Love Janet....lucky I caught her rhythm nation tour in 1990 here in the uk...amazing.
Janet was my first Concert in 1994. She obviously was phenomenal!!
What city did you see her in?
@@dalee72 San Jose, California where the SJ Sharks play. Now the SAP Center. I wanted to see her on the Rhythm Nation Tour, but I was only 12. My mother wouldn't allow me to go.
@@danielmarquis5258 I saw her 2x for the Rhythm Nation Tour at the Brendan Byrne Arena and at the Madison Square Garden. I went to see Madonna's Blond Ambition Tour 4x in the summer of 90 in the same year. But in hindsight I wished that I have saved more of my money for Madonna. I love them both but I'm a bigger fan of Madonna because I wanted to get better seats than what I had. And next in line is JJ. Right now I live in Oakland, CA.
I saw her in St. Petersburg when they first built the dome and had concerts there. She was great! I love her music and her dancing is off the hook!
@@danielmarquis5258 saw her in Sacramento in 87!
Janet Rocks the Planet
This song is a joy infusion. ❤
Janet I absolutely love her! My daughter is a big Janet fan too! Boy we would really get down to her music! Nonstop!
Perfectly said 👏🏻
The 80's had all the talented females performing. Janet Jackson; Madonna; Paula Abdul; Chaka Khan; Whitney Houston; Tina Turner; Diana Ross; Dionne Warwick; Patrice Rushin; Sheena Easton; Evelyn Champagne King; Cherelle; Anita Baker; Aretha Franklin; Cheryl Lynn; Deniece Williams; Donna Summer; Gladys Knight; Gloria Estefan; Gwen Guthrie; Jackie Moore; Jocelyn Brown; Joyce Sims; Lisa Lisa & Cut Jam; Mary Jane Girls; Natalie Cole; Alicia Myers; Pat Benetar; Patti Austin; Patti LaBelle; Pebbles; Phyllis Hyman; The Pointer Sisters; Sade; Shannon; Sharon Brown; Sheryl Crow; Sister Sledge; Stephanie Mills; Stevie Nicks; Taylor Dayne; Teena Marie; Vanessa Williams. Great Music Video, Great Songs, Great Talented Women; Great Music all around. Amber & Jay Checked these ladies out. U will not be disappointed.
I remember watching MTV in the late 90s, and they had a special, claiming there were “more women in music than ever before,” citing Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and other bubblegum pop girls. I just laughed. The women of the 80s brought the funk. Janet had the Minneapolis Sound for a while, which to me is far superior to New Jack Swing. More funky in an organic way. Her R&B stuff is good too. Runaway was big on Canadian music television.
What? No Jody Watley on this list? or Karen White? I'm sure they just
didn't come to mind at the time you posted this. Right?
Don't forget Cyndi Lauper, Sinead O'Conner, Grace Jones and Suzanne Vega too. I'm sure there are many more that aren't mentioned here.
I agree. A wealth of talent.
...AND 👉 Phyllis Hyman, (Gaynor Hopkins) aka Bonnie Tyler,Regina Belle Lita Ford,Angela Winbush,*Tawatha Agee (*Mtume solo career)Angela 'ANGIE' Bofill, Apollonia Kotero, Samantha Fox,Kimberly 'KIM' Carns,Karyn White.
"Let's Wait Awhile" is a good ballad by Janet you might like. I love it of course.. Jody Watley is another good suggestion. Her song "Everything" is my favorite.
I wish they would react to Jody Whatley! I feel they're ignoring her. She had several huge hits in the late 80's
@@jimmydaves Still a Thrill is the Jody Whatley song for me!!! OMG just hot!
@@jamiemann2262 Love that song!
Janet Jackson "LOVE WILL NEVER DO WITHOUT YOU" (original video) is my favorite song of hers ever. Janet is GORGEOUS in that video. ❤
Black Cat is her most rocking and her best song you'll love it
This song always put me in a good mood.
This was out late 89, as the 80s decade turned. Friends were having " 90s parties" lol
‘Pleasure Principle’ video is my favorite… love how she dances on the chair!
The entire Control album is a classic. So many good songs. Control, When I Think of You, Pleasure Principle, What Have You Done for Me Lately..so many! You won’t be disappointed.
I saw Janet perform when I was in 6th grade - Janet was only about 9 years old. My parents took us to see the Jackson 5 and little Janet and her sisters performed with their brothers. It was a great show!
Where was this show?
@@dalee72 Chicago
@@michellem3127 Lucky you! That must have been a fun show.
The classic Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam sound that defines a lot of Janet's stuff. Always puts you in a good mood. Dance on Ms. Jackson.
Oh, Janet also has a "funk" side to her music to. She doesn't often go there, but when she does it is fiyah! Check out these songs, if you want to hear her get funky with it: "Go Deep", "R&B Junkie", "All For You", to name a few.😁
A song that instantly transports me back to my childhood ❤️
It was great seeing her grow from the little Jackson sister who did Mae West impersonations on the Jackson’s variety show, to Penny on the tv show Good Times, and finally being transformed into the the powerhouse pop star by Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam. Great memories!
You know Jay is diggin’ it when the elbows shoot out! Yes! 3 for 3 today.
I love seeing Janet happy - it’s infectious. Great joyful reaction ❤
Just a few years ago I saw her last two concerts in my hometown in Charlotte,NC...
two years apart......the first one it had been 20 years since she toured. She is absolutely electric in concert!!! Great fun and fun music to dance too!!!
She also did a great tribute
to Michael. ❤
My top Janet, damn we had it good in the 80's!
"Pleasure Principle" 🔥 (My jam!!)
"Miss You Much"
"Thats The Way Love Goes"
"Anytime, Anyplace" 🔥(very sexy!)
"Love Will Never Do"
"Rhythem Nation"
"When I Think Of You"
"What Have You Done For Me Lately"
"Control"
"Nasty"
"Love Will Never Do"
Such a great album!
DO MORE JANET
- "Alright", "If", "Anytime Anyplace" so many to choose from
One of the best pop songs. Can’t be in a bad mood when hearing this. You’re right. Her delivery is always so bright.
Her song “If” was my jam when I went to the club! Love Janet soooo much! 🥰
Love Will Never Do was another favorite video of mine also! ☺️
The comment section would not be long enough to list the songs I love from Janet that you guys haven't reacted to yet. I'll try to contain myself though and list just a few. "Miss You Much", I had this dance down pat back in the day. "All For You" and "Alright", if you watch the full music video it has Cab Calloway, Heavy D and Cyd Charisse in it. "Love Will Never Do Without You" one of my favorite of her music videos and "Son Of A Gun (I Betcha Think This Song Is About You)" with Carly Simon and Missy Elliott. 😎👍
Doesn't Really Matter is from The Nutty Professor 2. All for You wasn't from a movie.
@@KrustydaClown Thank you so much! I corrected it. It's no excuse but I'm seriously sleep deprived. 😵💫LOL
“Miss You Much” ❤
Miss You Much is a banger. You'd love it. Great choreography ✌️
Come Back to Me (1989) and Let's Wait Awhile (1987) are also Janet hits. They're slow jams, but beautiful and relaxing to hear.
Boy, that early Janet look reminds me so much Of Lisa Lisa. I really thought she grew into her own style by Rhythm Nation and the next couple after that.
I adore Janet's song 'Black cat'; so catchy and great to dance to. Love the guitar riff.
I got to see her perform this last week in Orlando!!!
So much FUN!!!!
💯 my favorite Janet Album. My favorite song is Love Will Never Do Without You!
Rhythm Nation 1814 is SUCH an iconic album. I also liked her mid-90s sound with songs like “That’s The Way Love Goes,” probably my favorite song of hers and “If,” which is probably my favorite video of hers-the “all dance version.” There are two videos for that song, but that one shows way more of her dance moves. You can also see in that video how artists like Britney Spears were influenced by Janet.
You guys need to react to When I Think of You it was her first ever #1 and my favorite.. Love the video too
My fave janet song.
I got to see her in person at one of her concerts back in 94. It was her Janet tour. She performed this song and Rhythm Nation. It was so amazing
This was Janet's second #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 ( for 3 weeks) and Canada. It's such a fun, playful and upbeat song.
3rd, after When I Think of You, Miss You Much (the longest #1 of 1989)
Love will never do with you is a good one by Janet … a great one actually
Used to love this. It was my fav song from the Rhythm Nation Album always bumped it on my Walkman on the way to work 😀
Janet couldn't miss during this period. Everything she did hit. I had a huge crush on her.
Janet has so many great songs from different eras it's hard to narrow it down. Here are a few: When I think of You is another upbeat, feel good song that you will love. For something a little slower and more sultry, you should do That's the Way Love Goes. Miss you Much is also a great song and video, but make sure you get the extended version that includes the chair dance at the end. And if you want to see Michael and Janet together in the only video and song they ever did together then check out Scream.
Classic 80s rhythm nation jam
That's the Universal Studios back lot back in the day
Glad you guys got into some more Janet Jackson! Suggestion would be "Love with never do without you". An oldie but a goodie ! 😊🤞
That's my absolute FAVORITE!! ❤
You should react to "Miss You Much", such a good song with choreography that everyone tried to learn. Especially the chair and hat choreo at the end of the extended cut.
And also "All for You" is a REALLY fun bubblegum pop song.
Another happy video of Janet's is "Alright." It features Heavy D, Cab Calloway, and a famous hollywood dancer.
Miss Jackson did a duet with Michael that was WICKED good. 'Scream'. Please check it out if you can. I think you'll enjoy it!😊
One of my favs!!!
Janet came out in the period that there were multiple creative and great performing women.... but Janet topped them all!!!! JANET JACKSON WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE QUEEN OF POP❤❤❤❤❤ YOU JANET.....MY QUEEN 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑..... behind Michael Jackson she is the baddest performer period.....if you know one better..... SHOW ME!!!!!!!!!!
You NEED to do Miss You Much! That is like my all time favorite!
Such a talented woman from the famous Jackson Family...
I remember watching her grow up on television on Good Times...
Janet had so many hits that I could never pick a favorite. It depends on my mood which song I love at the time. I always go to her concerts when she comes to town.
If you haven’t heard it, Runaway is a big one by Janet. I remember it was everywhere in ‘95-‘96 on Muchmusic. Back when Master T, Rick The Temp, Suk Yin Lee and Ed The Sock ruled Canadian music television. Ed still rules. Fromage!
I love Runaway! I think that one and You Want This was around the same time. Both videos are amazing and beautifully shot!
my favorite Janet Jackson song. Catchy, upbeat and fun.
This song and "When I Think Of You" are my favs
This song and video is such a good time! Paula Abdul choreographed many of her early videos like Nasty and What Have You Done For Me Lately and the moves on this video screams Paula to me! Yes, you have to watch Janet’s videos and most videos from the eighties, the MTV Generation…videos were very important!❤❤
Paula Abdul also did a lot of choreography for MJ which is why there are similar moves/styles
You ain’t lying 👍
Janets voice has this inviting appeal to it thats subtle yet compellingly draws you in more and more
Rhythm Nation is my childhood 😊I wore my tape out 😂JANET IS AN ICON for a reason ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Stilled listening today’s!! I love Janet Jackson!! The queen forever and so beautiful!!
NICE...as always from Ms. Jackson!😊
"Getaway" is another great Janet Jackson hit. "On and On" with Q-Tip is fantastic too.
Always love hearing Janet Jackson. Such a great voice and incredible entertainer.
Man this song was HUGE…this was a massive album…I remember my sister bought it…it had that hard rock song on it she did…Black Cat…AMAZING!
Such a fun song. When I was a kid I thought she was singing about the Ice Capades 😂
Don't know this song, nut always up for Janet. You always know what you're gonna get. She's ...well... Janet.
In high school all the guys had the short list of the cutest & prettiest pop/rock singers; Whitney, Kylie Minogue, Janet Jackson, Belinda Carlisle & Paula Abdul were always tops. Janet had that lovely smile & & vocal tone that was quintessential 80s. She had so many catchy tunes it was hard not to like them, & I was a hard rock guy.
I've always been a rocker. Love Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Frampton. One day I listened to Janet Jackson and asked myself why am I listening to this, moreover why do I like it? I've been a fan ever since. What an amazing talent, awesome voice and never hard to look at.
You are watching a legend. Simply the QUEEN of her time.
