      Hi Adam. Just jump to the Finish Schedule or Finish Plan. They often have a page with tables of the finishes. You can also look at a Finish Plan and see what the finish is. You can find these quickly on the index which is on the first pages.

    hi daniel...
    im enjoying watching your videos.
    i am thinking of making a career change into estimating. know some estimating software and working on my excel spreadsheets.
    how can i get work and work from home and not at someone elses office.
    do you have a video that you have addressed this topic?
    thank you and keep making great videos!
    a fan

    • @iambuilders
      @iambuilders  2 года назад

      Hey thanks! That means a lot. I work really hard for these training videos!
      Right now estimating is one of our core services so I obviously can’t give you the secrets 😆 but if you have some contacts in the industry you can just offer them your service and a lot of contractors are struggling with the estimating part because they are too busy. You have to invest a few thousand dollars in the software and if you’ve never estimated before you have to actually learn it. Estimating is an entire career and itself.
      We are considering launching a training program for estimating because we have such a high demand so we might be building that out in the near future.
      Send me an email so I can save your contact information for the future in case we decide to move forward with our program. My email is daniel@iambuilders.com.

    Hi, thanks for the tips, I have a question, we are a small subcontractor and we enrolled with construcconnect, how we can get a (small) bids without waiting, as most of the bids we got so far are for projects that is not started yet,
    In other words we want to start forward in a short period of time instead of waiting?

    • @iambuilders
      @iambuilders  2 года назад +3

      Great question. Ok Construct Connect on the left menu you’ll see an option for “Awarded Projects”. Those are jobs that the GC already has. You can ask them if they haven’t awarded your trade yet and maybe you can get lucky and get a last minute job.
      But these are very rare. It’s better that you bid consistently so 3-6 months down the line you’ll start getting jobs back to back.
      If you like, set up a strategy call and I can help you get jobs. Here is the link: www.iambuilders.com/call.

  • @JulioHernandez-xk7np
    @JulioHernandez-xk7np 13 дней назад

    You have mentioned some great advice, and I applaud them.
    However, any advice to suggest lowering your prices is bad advice. Any contractor that wants to be in the business for years to come needs to learn their numbers and always price for a profit. Otherwise, your business won't last.
    You dont want to get your foot in the door with the mindset that you're the cheap guy. Get in the door and be known as the detailed, clean, quality guy!

    • @iambuilders
      @iambuilders  13 дней назад

      Not exactly. When you meet a new client, you are competing against other established companies that they’ve worked with in the past. If I was receiving bids, and I got three bids, two of which I already have worked with the contractors, but one is a new one, the only reason to use the new one would be if their price was better.
      The idea is you lead with a lower price so you get a chance to do the first job and then they know what they are paying for.
      The bad advice is thinking you are the best contractor so your prices are higher than everybody else’s and never winning jobs

    • @iambuilders
      @iambuilders  2 года назад

      Hi Truth. That’s great! The secret to winning jobs is getting as many leads as you can and bidding as many projects as you can. Obviously there are more tactics behind that, but using building connected is a great way to get leads.
      What kind of work do you do Truth?
