@@danielcolvin1611 probably just under 60 000 average, based on my historical data :D I don’t have any reliable data on steps, because my Garmin watch was on my hand, and my hand was on the 45kg (99lbs) stroller I was pushing, so there wasn’t the necessary movement for the steps to count correctly, and my phone was in a phone holder on the handlebar, also without the movement necessary to register steps correctly.
I did a challenge to walk 1,000,000 steps in a month, which, of course, averages about 33,333 steps a day (in a 30 day month). I tried to front load the challenge, starting with 35K a day. Some days I didn't hit the average mark. Then near the end of the month, I just went a little wild and thought, "How many can I do in a day, really?'... and I ended up doing 65,000 steps. With a degree in exercise physiology I can tell you that taking 1-2 days off a week from the start during this experiment would have likely prevented the crash you experienced. Probably on a hormonal, metabolic, and neurologic level as well.
I always tell my friends when they start lifting: take a week off after 3 weeks to recover. Also, take a de-load week every 6 weeks after that. A couple of years ago I did a month-long walking challenge for charity. I committed to 600,000 steps, and noted I'd need to hit an _average_ of 20,000 steps for each day of the 30-day month - but I ended up walking a _minimum_ 20,000 steps every day, and hit over 900,000 steps in total over the month! That meant I was walking an average of 5+ hours per day. I think the part most people find surprising is that I did it almost entirely inside my house (without the advantage of a desk treadmill). My living/dining room is sort of open plan, so I was able to walk figure-8's around my sofa and dining table, ensuring I wouldn't get dizzy. People always seem surprised I didn't wear holes in my carpet - truth is, my carpet's still going strong, but I wore the soles off several pairs of socks! Completely agree that walking so much actually gives you a ton of energy (but also tires you out). It was an awesome feeling. Even now I keep up 10,000 steps per day as a minimum, still doing those same figure-8's - and on the days when I can do more, like 20,000 or even 30,000, I feel great!
Every challenge or goal I tend to set for myself always comes down to the same peak point of difficulty: getting started. It's smooth sailing after that. My real goal is always, reliably, and pretty exclusively "Get Started". You'd think I'd be better at it by now lolol
At one point in the video, you talk about how tricky this can be if you don't have to do this kind of walking for work. A lot of mail carriers walk nearly 30,000 steps almost every day for their jobs, as do a lot of other folks. It's a lot! What I'm saying is, thank your mail carrier/delivery person whenever you see them, it's crazy how much they do every day. I know someone who decided to walk 100,000 steps in a day, just to do it. He said he'll never do it again, but was glad he did it. Perhaps a video idea? I think you can definitely do it.

Anyone else replace their curse word with "shirt" and have people look at you weird thanks to this dude? 30,000 steps a day is wild.
That 1st speeding ticket, the cop: Nathan Walls
OMG I do the same thing. I sing (badly) to my wife at random times and often make up the words to familiar songs.
I’m ready for your 40,000 steps for a month video
I’m in the middle of a week of 15k per day. So a lot of this rings true to me. I could write a manifesto about arbitrary goals.
How did it go? I’m at 22k a day and I long for the days of 15 😅
@@Spookyaki1 15 per day was fine. I kept it up for ten days. I don’t see the value in increasing higher for a long time. .So long as the average is over 10 I’m content.
I wish you lived in a walkable city man
you would enjoy it way more
He does
"A case of the 'I don't wanna's" hahaha I will definitely adopt that expression XD
did not expect but do greatly appreciate the cameo of America's local band Cheekface
It's amazing that a "failure" of 17k steps is way more than a lot of people walk in a day
Dog owners not talking about poop for 30 days challenge. Difficulty level: impossible.
Just watched the whole vid while walking 15 degree incline 4kmph. Thank you for the motivation wheezy!
Literally RUclips hid your video for months. I’m glad to be back 😊
I heard "I left Ada off at school" as "I left Adolf at school" 😂😂😂
Exactly 😮. I was like is this his nickname for the kid when they are being terrible? Or is that really the legal name some kid has to grow up with and teachers have to read out loud?! Johnny Cash was all like “I was named Sue growing up”….this guy’s kid was like “Hold my beer”.
A treadmill desk? LOL this is an achievement congrats!
the geese joke always gets me :)
Your videos are some on my fav on youtube! I'm so excited every time.
Have you ever tried those 'walk a mile' fitness videos on youtube? Might help if you do this again
I sympathize with the goose issue. Where I live the problem is dogs. I live in absolute terror of dogs. I’ve been attacked and bitten too many times.
Dogs are a problem too where I live. Never got bitten but I don't know why people can't put a leash on their dogs 😑
Alternative Title: Ode to Nathan Wells
Devs was awesome. It made me happy to know other people are still finding it.
Every challenge or goal I tend to set for myself always comes down to the same peak point of difficulty: getting started.
It's smooth sailing after that. My real goal is always, reliably, and pretty exclusively "Get Started". You'd think I'd be better at it by now lolol
Dang, your Cash impression was honestly great!
12:15 😂❤ "Bump and Grind" song reference, would never have expected that
This is kind of unrelated but I really like all the art in your house
At one point in the video, you talk about how tricky this can be if you don't have to do this kind of walking for work. A lot of mail carriers walk nearly 30,000 steps almost every day for their jobs, as do a lot of other folks. It's a lot! What I'm saying is, thank your mail carrier/delivery person whenever you see them, it's crazy how much they do every day.
I know someone who decided to walk 100,000 steps in a day, just to do it. He said he'll never do it again, but was glad he did it. Perhaps a video idea? I think you can definitely do it.
I loved the school memories. I did 75 hard last year and was remembering all the things that happened as a kid as i walked the streets of my town.
i have revisited wheezywaiter after 11 years! And im sad ive missed 11 years of content, youre still killing it! although petition to bring back the viewer winks closing the video!
Should've posted an affiliate link to the office treadmill! Would've bought it through that haha!
Funnily enough I've been watching youtube videos while walking in my room and trying to get at least 10K steps per day. I'm walking now while watching this video. It's 9:10am and I'm up to 6,320 steps so far.
"Managing the bowel excretions of a canine" sounds like an idea for a song title. But just an idea.
"Excretion management" sounds like some kind of MBA degree xD
Ah, the flashbacks to 20 years ago when we studied My Left Foot for the Junior Cert. Not what I expected to get from a Wheezy Waiter video.
