Hi TGV, Yes! My Colareb strap I bought 10 years ago is still going strong and looks even better with wear. Thanks for the video from years ago highlighting Colareb. Best regards, John
I'm so happy to hear that John, also happy to hear from you. Absolutely awesome! My best to you and your family, here's to another 10 years and even more character! Best regards, TGV
For the 4 pieces collection, I have in mind this personal selection: 1. Formal dress - Orient Bambino 2. Everyday wear - Invicta Prodiver 8926OB. 3. Casual Comfort - Casio F91W/Casio Lineage. 4. Sports&Outdoors - Casio Riseman, or any Casio with ABC. I also use a lot Amazfit TRex, which is, basically, a very rugged smartwatch. I add that this selection is based on a rather very friendly budget. Keep up the fantastic work, @Urban Gentry !!
@@Amberlynn_Reid we can attend to suffering where possible and still dress well. If you can't appreciate beauty until everything in the world is perfect, all you'll ever do is keep things ugly.
For my workouts, I prefer to use a basic Timex Ironman. It gives me a stopwatch and is small enough not to be noticed during my movements. Can’t wait for the Longines review!
These are the 4 categories I've worked out for myself. But of course it's most fun to have multiple watches in each category and then less need to swap straps! Pure class as always
I tend to rotate straps on a seasonal basis. I have a bright red one for my Reverso that works perfectly around the holidays and a shell cordovan one that I put on my Sinn during transitional months. Also, life is short, so having straps with quick-release spring bars is a must.
Excellent video TGV. I missed this one. I was never really fashion conscious before I got into watches about 5 years. My wife, who thought my watch collecting to be slightly crazy, is now delighted that I think about what I should wear. I don't always get it right though. She will sometimes stop me on the way out and, you're wearing the wrong watch, wear this instead. 😊
Love it TGV! My 4 watches Dress - bambino small hands Sports - Casio g shock (casioak style) Everyday - Tag F1, early 00s Semi smart - Tudor ranger Onwards and upwards 🙏
Great video. Loving the new bond style intro. I want to thank you for your content and good taste. Because of this channel, I ended up pulling the trigger on my first big watch purchase and landed with an Accutron Spaceview 2020 on bracelet. Adore this watch. My ultimate everyday but with it being on bracelet, actually works with track suits too. Thanks again for bringing attention to a really unique find.
Wow, thank you so much for sharing that, this truly made my evening. An excellent choice, one for a true enthusiast and connoisseur. As for tracksuits, yes!! So true what you say, modern, cool, it works flawlessly. Onwards and upwards my friend, enjoy the Accutron. Best regards, TGV
Great video TGV. Amazing how swapping out the straps or bracelet absolutely transforms the look of a watch. Loved the Clint Eastwood book 😅. Josey Wales on the cover 👌😎
I enjoy watching your videos and your proper gentleman guidelines to how to present your wrist watch according to what you are wearing- my wife happen to sit and watch this video along with me and she compliments you as a man who would definitely stand out in a crowd and would look very elegant a classy- I will strive to make sure I match my horological choices with the appropriate matching wardrobe, like you, thanks for teaching me to be a proper gentleman !
Yes! Been waiting for another clothing-watch-strap vid! I admit, as a blue collar guy, matching watches and straps is usually to a Dickies or Carhartt heavyweight pocket tee in various colors...but even then it gives me the opportunity to match a watch to a specific color tee. My dress watches are all vintage and have genuine American Alligator straps and you're right - thinnest is best to slide under that cuff. Great segment!
I enjoy matching my watch to what I'm doing. Travel (a GMT), motorsports (a chronograph), working (my daily driver, a vintage dress mechanical since I wear a suit to work), working out (digital "beater"), social functions (all precious metal).
Finally picked up a couple straps from Fluco this past year, and you were absolutely not joking about those. Their straps are better in materials quality and construction than straps I have that cost twice as much! Also wanted to mention that while it's been quite a few episodes now, the new intro is fantastic. Really sets a tone for the channel. Great episode. I'd love a rundown on your top 3 Private White VC pieces sometime down the line. I've been dipping my toes into their line and am really impressed.
i have a orient star, SAF02001S0 that I wear on a brown vintage braided leather strap from Speidel and it is so preppy, I got more compliments on the strap then on any other watch or strap i have. getting compliments constantly like 2-3 times a week (when i meet new ppl at work). that brown gold color combo cant beat it
10:08 I just saw that you seem to combine quick release springbars with pull through straps? Can this damage the strap? Can it become uncomfortable? Is it less secure than regular spring bars? And: Where do I get those? 😅
Very interesting video Tristiano. You have a nice collection of clothing! I like the bowling shirts and your Stone Island coat. I don’t get out much but I find my Rolex OP 34mm covers most bases as well as my Sinn 556a.
Very well done, Tristano! I have always been impressed with how well you coordinate all your straps p, watches and outfits. I don’t have the eye for it that you do, and more importantly I prefer the feel of a bracelet on all my watches. There are a few that go specifically on a leather strap and a few that go on NATOs , but for the most part it is always a bracelet for me. Excellent point though, rubber or nylon is the way to go for strenuous activities and exercise. Really well done, TGV. Glad to see you doing well. Hope you are having a great summer. Be well, my friend. Onward and upward!
You are a dapper guy, and go to lot of trouble to look your best, me on the other hand, I'm just a jeans and t shirt type of guy....these beloved watches of ours look good with either form of clothing.... keep the vids coming 👌👌 buy the zenith, you know you want it...👌👌
I think I agee: Dress, casual/daily, casual/fun, true sport...I'm still improving my collection, but I have one in each category and then some I got on my way towards discovering my preferences.
Hi TGV Yes, if you look at it this way, as in categories based on functions, a 4 watch collection might be ideal. Would no doubt suit a lot of people...but watch lovers might have trouble narrowing it down to this ideal😊 Otherwise you recommend at least a couple of different strap types for each category, and I totally agree. For example, when it comes to dress watches, I prefer a watch on a strap (-in the winter) and one on a bracelet (- for summer). Same goes as a minimum for the remaining categories...so now we’re at at least 8 watches. Where does it end...? Luckily it never ends! Watches are beautiful. I know; you can always change the straps. But in my experience watches tend to take on their own identity. This piece looks best on a strap, this is better on a bracelet and so forth. So at least you got to have...a lot of watches😆 Very good and interesting subject, TGV. Keep up the good work👍
I'm going on two weeks holiday. I'd like to bring only one watch with me but am not sure which will be best to serve sport/EDC/formal. A dive watch perhaps? Maybe my Seiko Samurai? I am going to Japan, after all. I could always purchase another Seiko while I'm there for more formal outings.. Maybe another Casio for the collection.. uh-oh.
That old diving helmet there, wow!!!! I want one ☝🏻 I am with you on matching watches to my attire, activity, occasion, mood. If I need I even switch a strap to be more exact on the matching.
Great video, as always. Rubber Casio world timer illuminator for exercise everytime! 100M water resistance. 5 alarms and stopwatch. I use mine to surf. £15 from Argos. Unbelievable! 😂
Haven't watched this channel for a while. Watched today and glanced at my wrist and seen the SKX which TGV inspired me to get about 5 years ago. Gratzi mille
Another fantastic video TGV. Great content as always, educational and detailed. Ensuring to flag the need to respect another person's own uniqueness with dress style, straight out of the gate. Alot of style content out there push their opinion and never note or respect someone's own uniqueness. Bravo, tip my hat.
Thank you so much TGV for another great video! I personally love to dress business casually most of the time. The reason is because I feel that if I accidentally bump into someone I know, I look neat but not too stuffed up! TGV, I also want to give you a suggestion. Of course feel free to ignore my advice, but I think a bow tie would look more classy with that burgundy tuxedo like jacket. The reason being is because of its lapel shape. A black long neck tie would work better with notched lapels or possibly peaked lapels, but not smooth tuxedo lapels in my opinion. However, all of your other recommendations in the video were phenomenal!! I also have never thought about using different strap texture when wearing suede jacket! Great advice! Stay healthy and well as always! (Nicholas L). ❤❤❤👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🦖🦖🦖⏱️⏱️⏱️
My style is often a shirt, black leather jacket, leather boots, and jeans. I like to think I can pull off nearly anything with such an attire. If the watch is very sporty or in other ways contemporary or loud, I might swap the shirt for a simple t-shirt.
As someone who owns six watches, I think four is perfect. Of course, my most recent purchase of an Orient "President" is making a very compelling argument for a one-watch collection. Cheers!
I wear the Omega Speedmaster Racing 44.25mm with the OEM black and orange rally strap. Not a formal watch at all, but it works surprisingly well with certain suit combinations. The highlight colour in the strap almost makes it work like a pocket square!
I work in a business casual environment but enjoy dress watches as of late. How do you broaden the wearability of these watches beyond formal attire? For example, a Longines 190th anniversary.
Great video as mentioned previously love it when you expand out to other things as well as watches. The older I get I'm more inclined to the "wear what you want and feels comfy to you" style. However when you do want/need to impress others there are some great pointers here. Thanks as always sir and have a great weekend
That would be pretty cool to see your four watch collection ideas. And of course it’s the man (and woman) who makes the clothes, and not the other way around. Great content as usual.
I have always enjoyed your videos but never bought anything other than tool watches because of my lifestyle(military and nurse). I just bought my first dress watch (Frederique Constant) and the leather band looks horrible. I enjoyed your advice and I am looking to upgrade this pretty watch.
I only advocate only Garmin smartwatches now. I've got my first at the moment from Francis & Gaye jewellers in the UK as recommended by Russel, the MWC. They're as tough as a G-Shock and I get about 22 days battery out of it. I do always wear a proper watch on my left wrist at the same time though. I hate to see people only wearing an Apple watch 😞
We need more videos about straps in general. I rarely dress up so I tend to match my straps to the season: bracelets for the summer, leather for winter/fall and rubber or NATO for everything. I find bracelets easiest to wash sweat off and they are just too cold in my neck of the woods during winter. Avoiding sweat is the reason why I wear leather in the cooler/drier months.
You're a good person TGV. I do wish people treated each other better too. I just picked up a black Lizard grain deBeer strap from Holbens for my Aquastar model 60 that I recently acquired. I don't know why but I just love the look. Also the new Aquastar 60 is a cracking watch, you should definitely review. The only matching I really do with my attire is matching my belt and Sperry's. Gotta do brown shoes with a brown belt or black with black. So i only wear a black strap with black shoes and belt. Great tips though, let me know if you wanna check out the Aquastar.
Cracking combo my friend, enjoy it. The Aquastar is such an honest design, if that makes sense, very a classic, love it. I will certainly consider it. Thank you for sharing that. Best regards, TGV
👍🏼 Absolutely adore the combination of the watch and black suede jacket! 😍 I actually have one of Angel Jacket's leather jackets that I bought a year ago, and it's still in fantastic condition. It never fails to impress! 🙌🏼
Thanks TGV, always enjoy your vids! I have a Longines Dolcevida on an alligator strap, and I think it wears so well casually... paired with a classic, casual long sleeve unbuttoned Oxford and a pair of jeans. On that note, I recommend others look into Longines and their rectangular style watches. They were deep in the trend even before Cartier introduced the Tank way back in 1917.
Mr. UG. I've got an Orient Ray2 in Black, I'm looking for a black nato. But I kinda want one which maybe smoothens out abit when it ages. Do you have any recommendations there, or maybe some other ideas I could try out. I've got a grey-black James Bond esc Nato for my Timex which could technically work with it (it's just too narrow) but I didn't want to completely take focus away from the watch itself.
Now you know why I have been so busy. It would not be complete with an NDC and a comment from you! Sending a big manly hug. Parliamo presto fratello 😉🥂 T.
I found my Colareb strap shrunk so that there was play in the spring bars. The worst thing was that the strap then came loose and my Seiko diver crashed to the ground. Not sure if this is a common problem with leather straps.
Hi TGV, Yes! My Colareb strap I bought 10 years ago is still going strong and looks even better with wear. Thanks for the video from years ago highlighting Colareb. Best regards, John

Great list! I could be quite happy with those alone
That was one serious attire montage in the intro!
Every gentleman's morning dilemma: 1) what watch to wear, and 2) what clothes to match it! Onwards and Upwards!
There are many days I literally build my outfit around which watch I want to wear that day.

I was just going to sleep (late here in Sweden) but now I have to stay up watching :) Interesting topic!

Cartier Santos
G-Shock DW-5600
Oris Big Pilot

What would the theme music be to this video? Cheers!
Mr.
T, Great video with some superb pairings. 😉. Best as always. Matthew
Now you know why I have been so busy. It would not be complete with an NDC and a comment from you!
Sending a big manly hug. Parliamo presto fratello 😉🥂
T.
That was a fun video 👍
Loving Sean Connery's famous BB58 at 3:24 😅
I found my Colareb strap shrunk so that there was play in the spring bars. The worst thing was that the strap then came loose and my Seiko diver crashed to the ground. Not sure if this is a common problem with leather straps.
