Thank you so much. I haven't even finished this video and it already spoke to me. I've been struggling leaving my toxic job for awhile now. I made a couple friends and met good people through this job and I am a very sentimental person. And Everytime I'm like "okay this is my push to leave" somebody does something nice or something good happens and I want to stay. Since I've discovered your channel, I watch ALL your videos. This one however, has to be my fav thus far. OMG...you hit the nail on the head with so much in this episode. From the book 'Worthy' (damn what a good read), to reflecting on the lessons I'm taking with me from 2023, and babyyyyyy the pleasure of rewatching my favorite shows. I too have watched GA (and am trying to keep myself from starting it again), at least 5 times, and don't even get me started on Girlfriends. That's my comfort show. The idea of being selfish needs to be replaced with being selfless.. selfishness comes from a negative point and can hurt other people by doing things from a point of selfishness. However selfless moments means me filling into myself to pour out to others. The power of the tongue can change how we receive things..❤❤❤
that’s all perception. selfish has been made to be negative. I don’t see it that way, but you may and that’s your choice. I’m not selfless. I’m not only filling myself for others. I’m caring for myself first. Then I’m able to show up best in all the other roles I occupy.
Undersood. I was referring to the Oxford definition of selfish which means to be characterized as someone who only has interest of oneself without regard to the welfare of others. Me taking time to recuperate and gather myself is not selfish as per the dictionaries meaning. It's simply me taking care of myself to take care of others.
