    A friend of mines father when I was a child had one of these in black brand new in 64'. I can't remember what they had before this. We had a 62' Olds 98. Before that we a classic 55' Rocket 88 Olds 2 door hard top. My brothers first car was a 65' Galaxie in the early 70s. He had it repainted and put Cragars on all for corners with fat tires on the rear.

    Thanks for sharing, brings back a lot of great memories. Ford nailed the design of the '64 Galaxie, downright gorgeous. Having a large family living on the southwest side of Detroit, four of my aunts & uncles owned '64 Fastbacks. Two of them were the aqua shown with 289s, one was a metallic gold with a 390 4bbl & the last was a moss green 352. At any angle they looked terrific. Almost forgot one of my cousins had a maroon '64 drop top XL with a 390 4bbl. Labor Day family reunions were a treat to see who bought a new car & always was a big deal.

    I am surprised that you did not remove the steering wheel and replace the column shift elements with those from a floor shift model. I did that on a '65 Galaxie. 1963 through 1966 parts will all interchange. To make sure the car would start I put a small piece of wood in the electrical block on the steering column under the dash to lock it into what it thought was the Park position.

No idiot selfie in the corner bragging about himself instead of the car? No constant begging for subscriptions and likes? No ridiculously big logos blocking the middle of the screen? The narrator knows what he's talking about and isn't on camera more than the car? Are you trying to force me to give you 👍👍👍👍👍? Well you've succeeded. Beautiful car, great video.

    I had a total of three 64 Galaxies in my youth. My first was a standard coupe with a 300 hp 352 auto C-4 tranny., It had everything except a/c. My other two were fastbacks. The first had a built 390 with auto C-6 and everything except a/c. There were a lot of 64s with a/c but as hot as it gets down here I never felt the need for it. But my 3rd 64 was an XL black on red interior. It had a very stout 406 Interceptor package. They never made an interceptor 406 so I made my own/ it was extremely fast for a Galaxie. It was running a 3 speed with O/D on the floor. I had never seen very many Galaxies with the 3 speed on the floor but it worked exceptionally well Would you consider selling that 64 you have? It is a bit modded but I would replace the 351 with the proper big block. However it would not be stock after I finished with it. This kind of car needs the big iron in front of it. This is a very tastefully redone restomod and it sure deserves a deep look. The paint is great.

    No 351w engine in 1964. 260-289 were the only small blocks option. Outer aluminum trim was polished and not chrome from the factory. BTW, it's a sports roof and not a true fastback. Speedometer should be mph and not kilometers unless it's a Canadian car. No disc brakes in 1964 either. Nice restoration but not great.

    • @adambedell73
      @adambedell73  Год назад

      First it’s not the stock engine. In fact not much about the car was stock. The restoration was completed before I bought the car including the trim. The speedometer is in mph.
