It was hard to miss this Galaxie that was racing at Street Car Takeover Charlotte. It's an absolutely stunning build, with no stone left un-turned. What really stood out to us was that despite being a big heavy car, it wasn't rocking a big displacement motor.. instead it's got a 302 cubic inch 5.0L Coyote engine, pumping out over 3,000 crank horsepower. You read that right - three thousand! How cool is that?

2,700 wheel with Ford heads. That is just insane to me. I love this build!!!
Knowing how Kevin at tkm is, it most likely made the 2700 with a good bit left to go. No need to kill it on the dyno. They like to wait until there at the track to turn there stuff up. It probably makes a good bit over 3k to the hub if I had to guess by the way Kevin normally tunes.
Voodoo, coyote, and predator heads are some of the highest flowing heads in the world..

Slowly? Brett Lasala has smoked everyone this year. ... including billet bigblocks and billet LSs. With only boost, coyotes have gone 7s factory sealed since 2018. Zero other sealed engines can boast that....ESPECIALLY LS 🗑
coyote stuff has always been around bro lol for years both platforms will make the power and neither is cheap once you go aftermarket block and a really good set of heads and rotating assembly LS will make more torque coyotes will rev out a little higher thats all there is too it
Nah coyotes will make just as much power and torque as an LS platform. I have a similar combo that makes well over 1500 ft lbs

I doubt that. If it’s made for the blue oval, you better believe it’s going to be pricey! I’ve always heard that you can build two Chevy engines for the price of one Ford engine. My 66 Mustang will definitely have a gen2 coyote when I get it finished, especially after seeing this video!

@@bullhead360 right now that’s the way it is but look at the LS market. Once there’s enough out there that companies are willing to put their money into the market the prices may not come down but there’s gonna be a lot of options out there.

I have always said, and will always keep on saying, DOHC with 4-valves per cylinder is the future engine technology finally happening now. I couldn't even imagine what it would run like if it were in the displacement range of about 7.0 liters or more. And when you turbocharge something like that, Look out...

Future Technology? Harry Miller and Duesenberg were building DOHC 4 valves 100 years ago. Fred Offenhauser took over Miller in the ‘30’s and Offys won a few races for the next 50 years. Then came the legendary Cosworth DFV. The only thing new is the history you don’t know.

My first car was a 63 1/2 Galaxie 500 XL. I loved that car. It's amazing to see how fast this one is.
I would have lost my house betting on the galaxy vs Brent in the green mustang. Crazy achievement to win that race so early in development.

I sold my LS1 powered vette this month and just picked up a S550 Mustang Premium with Roush goodies. Its a lot of fun. And the car is so happy being revved out.

I’m a Chevy guy and have been since before the “LS”. Seeing everyone swap sbc into Fords for years then the LS for years and still currently, it’s nice to see Ford has a platform to keep Ford cars Ford powered. Still far from being a very common swap because of cost,aftermarket support and availability, but that’s beginning to change as the platform ages. Soon you won’t be able to automatically assume a Fox Body has an LS in it.😂

Ford has always had some good platform engines, it's just that nobody wanted to do their homework or spend the money to build them. Chevy has always enjoyed having more aftermarket support and so parts have been cheaper and easier to throw together power. The LS is a cheap and lazy way to go fast. It takes almost no imagination to put together an LS when you can buy damn near everything as a complete kit.
@@paulkimber6028 Exactly and that’s why everyone and their mom has been Chevy swapping for decades. The reason the aftermarket is huge for Chevy is because the customer base is there to facilitate such a large aftermarket and GM platforms have been extremely universal since the 50s which makes it easy for the aftermarket. You are right though, if you have a money tree the sbf is a good platform if trying to go north of a 6-700hp. The LS is cheap and easy and commonly supports more hp cheaply. Idk how that’s bad thing. Unless your wealthy and want to be different and gain minimal advantage.
63 1/2 fast back Galaxie is in my top 3 fullsize cars and Galaxies BIG BAD AND BEAUTY FULL like seeing it stick it tp the smaller cars as a 427 would have done on the streets in the early 60 s boss

I love this car! My favorite car from my youth is the 66 Ford Galaxy my dad bought for me when I was 16 in 1976. Funny how Ford went from round rear tail lights to a kind of octagon in 65, then square on the 66, and then oblong on the 67. I like the round lights, but I love the square lights that only the 66 had. 👍😎✌🗽
Yup, I had a 66 Galaxie 500 2 dr hardtop in my youth many years ago. Put a 390 hi-po in it that came out of a wrecked 67 Fairlane GT. would love to find another.
@@429thunderjet2Mine was also the two door hardtop, but had the stock 302 V8. I remember one day traveling from Ventura CA to Riverside I had this urge to see how fast I could get there. The car would do 120, and I used all of it's power during my 3 ticket ride. I look back, and think what a dumb AZZ! I recall it took me 90 minutes not counting the 3 ticket stops! 😁😎👍✌🗽

How can 1320 be in the track, no prep, street racings scenes and not know who TKM is and know that he was talking to The Kevin Mullins from TKM, lol! It baffles me how these guys are clueless other than their usual favorite "friends". If they want to be actual racing media they need to get people out there on their end who know it. They would get their views and subs back. Be relevant again. Its not that hard to keep up on a know who the big hitters and up and coming programs or builders are. Have seen this car several times before this. Just makes Fred look silly not knowing who he is talking to and how professional they are.

That's awesome 👍 my friend father back in the 60's and early 70's used to race the same type of galaxy 500 he retired from it in 1974 he was running a 427 which he still had along with a lot of other rare type of motors he had them all rebuilt on a crate and wrapped up in his heated garage he passed away a few months ago 😢 pretty Sad but watching this video reminds me of him. FYI that sn95 was a 96' Mystic. Not to be confused with the 04 Mystichrome. Two completely different paints. But both are Ford factory color shifting paints.
I love the black trim. It really stands out.
