I’ve just installed the filter roller into our sump, got rid on those yucky filter socks, and the PH has increased from 8.2 to 8.4 to 8.5, such a great improvement.

Hi, awesome vids as always, just wondering if you have had any issues with your reefmat 1200? I have one on my 750xxl and the drive unit decided to stop working just when my warranty expired. Real bummer as the replacement unit is half the price of the unit😢
just got mine and love it! getting all the old sock stuff out was not very easy and I decided at some point to take a small hammer and crack all the dividers that made up the sock area. Huge time saver as compared to trying to cut all the silicon out. Once the glass was out it was super easy to get the leftover silicone cleaned up. Can you tell me what lights you are running?
But can you use it with two drains from the tank? I have two tanks plumbed into one sump both have 1" drains and i assume the fittings are standard 1" unions????
The best way to do it is to merge with a "T" connector before feeding the ReefMat. You can buy extra parts and have a dual feeding Reef Mate as one port has a plug to allow left ight feeding option. The unit arrives with various connectors.
Hell, great video! You mentioned you put one in your Cade....can you describe what modifications you had to do in order to use it in that system? Thanks.

Looks nice. My biggest complaint with all of the larger roller mats is that the dirty roll smells awful. The Klir filter rollers are the only ones that seem to have addressed this by enclosing the dirty roll and putting a carbon filter on the vent.
Thanks for review. Quick question : what happens to the ato reservoir that sits on top of the sump. On my 750xxl I use that gravity ato. Mine sits right above the socks
@@TJPavey option 1 basically no ato. The problem in front chamber I have chaeto. Going to have to squeeze this thing in using option 1. And have the ato sit between my skimmer on the roller Mat. I think I will have enough space.
Ok great vid, very intriguing 🤨 I do however have one question… “what have you done with the existing filter sock area that RedSea sumps come with to fit in the sump area?
Hey so you by any chance know if there will be a larger or updated version of the Penainsula? I see there is some G2 models but the peninsula didn't get one. I'm looking to buy a peninsula and I'm debating between the waterbox and and red sea. I like that the waterbox has a larger version but I don't like the sump.
Nice and very informative video, as always. One question if you don’t mind. Iam running my emergency overflow drain through the filter socks as well. Because I have my over flow adjusted that a tiny bit of surface water goes down that emergency drain all the time. That gave the best noise reduction on the actual overflow box. What would you recommend to get that water through the filter mat to? Because that water apparently has a lot particles that swam on the surface of the aquarium. Thanks heaps for your ideas.
Hey Jake, big fan of the ReefMat as well, and had a quick installed question. I'm running a similar setup with a Peninsula 500 and a ReefMat 1200, and I had a question about how you plumbed the ReefMat into the stock primary drain. I noticed that you plumbed the corrugated hose right into the primary drain pipe and completely eliminated the stock bottom end of the drain pipe that would normally thread in to where you threaded in the ReefMat hose. I also noticed you eliminated the stock grey bracket that would normally support that drain pipe. I did pretty much the same thing... After looking back at the instructions, Red Sea says to cut down the drain pipe below the flow adjustment knob and threaded connection, so you connect the corrugated hose at that point which allows you to retain the grey support clip. There are two 90 degrees turns coming from the bulkhead to the sump, and with the extra weight of the water flowing into the corrugated hose, I noticed that it's pulling down on the drain pipe a little without the grey bracket supporting it. It makes me a little nervous that the tension on that drain pipe could cause something to crack or leak. Did you add some additional support to the primary drain pipe somewhere else to keep it from pulling down on the pipe?
Super exited to get myself one. It blows me away that they thought of so much and took the time into making this product near perfect. also love the sps display
Great video! Curious, do you run a cover on all of your tanks? Does it help quite a bit w evaporation? Also what material is that and wheee can one purchase it. Thx

The main things wondering is that only coming off main drain, so my emergency drain trickles in to keep the sump level and the auto top off stable. If tou was to take the filter trays out and the glass panel will that change the water in the sump, return pump chamber where my ato is? Lats question can the hose red sea give you get cinked or blocked and then cause the water to back up and float the main chamber at top of the drain.
