RIP Jake. Happy to have met you in line to board that flight, your enthusiasm about your work and your trip to Bali was inspiring. A true honour to have met you.
Rest in peace Jake. We will miss you. I've been watching this channel for more than 5 years and I'm so sad that he is gone. And thanks for everyone who will keep the channel going.
I'm so glad you decided to share Jake's last video. A bit tough to watch, knowing we won't hear from him again. He lives on through all the amazing content he provided to the Reefing hobby. My deepest condolences to his family and closest friends. Gone to soon. 🙏
I had the pleasure of meeting Jake several times at various shows in USA and Europe. Two things that struck me more in him than any other in this industry - passion and integrity. Miss you mate. ❤
Checking in 1.5 years later since Jake's passing. No doubt he was the THE driving force for the entire hobby and the standard bearer we needed. Clean, precise, exacting passion for the hobby and science was something that should inspire all of us reefers.
This video hits so different now that he’s gone. Evan what an incredible torch to carry. Thank you both for bringing such awesome awesome content over the years.
Evan, I don't know how you were able to edit this video, bravo. Coincidenly, back at MACNA many years ago, rollermat was the only aquarium product I refuse to cover, he try to persua me, I noded, I was not convince at the time, cost, disposable filter, but over the years he started to convinced me bit by bit. Progress were made and I find them now more relevant. I beleive there's still another step evolution in this technology. Somehow, he's flair was right... And to ReefBuilders team, content creation, create your own path, Jake has his, your journey is your. We will miss him, farewell.
RIP Jake. 😢 This had to be hard for you to do. Thank you for sharing this with us. His legacy will live on through his family and through those he's reached in the hobby worldwide.
This is Jake's mom. Thank you Evan & Jake's worldwide family. Once upon a time when Jake & his brother Luc & I lived across the street from the ocean. We lived in Blonville-sur-mer in Normandy France. Jake was 4 and came home from his daily beachcomber and said,"Mom, someday yourself going to be known as Jake's mom and I will no longer be known as Molly Dunn's son! One correction, he had, we had, 29 aquariums by the time he was 10 years old! If you doubt me check with Chuck at Fishy Business in Columbia SC, where I dropped him off regularly to make himself useful and learn! He had a head start on the whole world!
Although I've never met Jake, like everyone else, I feel like I knew him. This video was a difficult watch and I paused it a number of times. You did the right thing to release this video Evan, and great work on keeping the studio going at such a difficult time and great to hear you'll be keeping the channel going 👏 Rip Jake Adams - your legacy will live on🥲
Rest in peace, Jake. I am very new to reefing but your videos have helped guide me immensely. Clearly, you were a big part of this hobby and many looked up to you and still do, including me. Thanks for sharing :)
This is the very first time I have ever heard about filter rolls with regards to filtration, in any type of system. Thanks for sharing. Once again, my condolences to Jake's family and friends. Such a loss is hard on all who knew him. Take comfort in all the lives he touched, and the positive impact he's had in the hobby, and in his life.
It’s so crazy how you effected 99% of the hobby. I only ever asked you one question. But you responded quickly, and gave in depth solutions. I watch your videos and strangely consider you a friend. I admired your knowledge and was jealous of your passion. Yet every video I watch gave and continues to give inspiration. Prayers for your family. We miss you brother! I truly hope you are swinging with the most beautiful fish, curating the most amazing corals. Fly high my friend!!
Almost cried when he said goodbye everyone. Goodbye Jake 😢 I ordered the Red Sea reef mat today due to your recommendation. All of your advice still so helpful
Thank you for sharing. I just discovered that Jake passed. It made me cry. Rest in Peace and thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. I hope his legacy will carry on. ☮
It took me a while to be able to watch this. I never knew Jake personally but I feel like I did. He was so influential in my passion for this hobby. Rest in paradise, Jake, wherever you are now, brother.
took a break from the hobby a few years ago. Currently getting back in. I was going thru all my old channels to get a refresh on everything. Broke my heart seeing that Jake has passed. May he rest in peace and may God give his wife the strength to keep going.
This is so sad. I watched hours and hours of Jake's videos when I was in grad school after my mom died. His passion and enthusiasm was so contagious. He really helped me through a hard time in my life. Never cried over the death of someone I never met before. Such a tragedy. Deep condolences to his family and friends.
He motivated me to jump and get my first aquarium recently. I only found out later that he had passed. Thanks Jake, your videos are still bringing in new people to the hobby.
A reminder for us all that the time we spend with family and friends is precious and should not be taken for granted. RIP Jake. You live on in these videos where you show passion and caring for the things that you love and enjoy. A great legacy to leave behind. You family and friends will miss you as will the rest of us that have enjoyed and become better reefers. Good travels...
I have been holding off to watch this video, since its truly sad that its the last time I will see Jake. We will miss you. I hope to meet you in a other lifetime.
Thank you Evan for showing Jakes last video. I’m sure editing this one was extremely hard 😢 I know you will carry on Jakes legacy through Reef builders in the future.
RIP Jake! I remember getting frustrated with my tank and wanting to pull the plug. I would go online and watch one of Jake’s videos and it would be a reminder to keep on going. Right now my tank looks like crap but hearing the news about his passing has definitely been a huge wake up call for me to start cleaning things up in the tank and get it back to the way it used to be. I will miss Jake and his informative videos. My condolences to his family🙏
It was a lot of fun listening to the stories about jake, reef builders and the studio when we met in Norway. I’m sure you are all gutted but keep doing great work and make him proud!
Will miss you alot Jake you have brought many smiles to people you don't know I think that's the biggest achievement of all, Thank you I couldn't stop feeling deep when watching your last video. My deepest sympathies for the family and friends.
When I first saw the news it was so shocking I couldn't believe it. His passion for what he did always shined through in every video he did. Not able to have my own saltwater aquarium I vicariously lived through his videos. RIP Jake. I hope you know how much you inspired people in this industry, you will be missed.
Thank you for the years of tips and tricks Jake. I can't remember a time I had a tank where you weren't part of how I built it. Thank you for sharing your life and talent with us all.
Wow... Only 2 days ago Bodgie and I were talking about filter rollers. Then this video comes out and answers every question I had, including that they can be used on freshwater tanks. Thank you Jake and RIP 🙏 I'll keep showing the freshwater world how it's done!
You could hear the sadness in Evans voice during that into. I’m so sorry for the loss of the absolute legend the is Jake Adams. I know that I’m just a little nobody in a big huge world but he was a big inspiration for me from the outside looking in and watching him from a distance. I have recently decided to take the plunge and try a reef tank if my own and I can only say that even from beyond Jake will be helping me through his lifetime of videos and the knowledge he’s put into this hobby. RIP Jake
Heart wrenching. Jake's delivery was top notch and reef therapy was really starting to become one of my favorite things to listen to. So much information and so many great topics. He was a reefing encyclopedia. You will be missed brother.
RIP Jake! Not been in the hobby that long but really enjoyed a lot of your content for being informative and easy to understand. The product reviews were superb and you just came across a really likeable and enthusiast person. Such a shame we'll never see any new videos 😥
Rest in peace jake adams my favorite reef RUclipsr i will be seting up my saltwater tank soon i will always remember you my tank will be made with 100 percent your iconic ideas i miss you so much.
I am just starting my first reef ever. I have been reading and watching people like Jake for about 8 years, and I'm only pulling the trigger now. A true hit to the reef hobby world, Jake was absolutely amazing to watch, what a guy. Windsor, I am so sorry, words fall short. Be with family, be kind to yourself, and always push forward the way Jake would have wanted you to. Thanks Jake.

RIP Jake. I got out of the hobby for a few years and watching your videos is what got me back into it and I’m loving it more than ever now. I have learned a lot from you and your videos. I’m so glad this channel and the studio will go on but Jake you will be forever missed more than you know 😢
As a brand new hobbyist to reef building, I had spent the last five weeks researching tank set ups and watching countless videos from a variety of sources in preparation of starting my first nano. I stumbled on a reef builders video thanks to the youtube algorithm as I was researching a tropical tank set up initially and was instantly hooked watching Jake's passion for reef building and have watched untold videos since. It was with great sadness I learnt of Jake's passing knowing I'd been watching some of those videos completely unaware. The nano tank will be purchased soon and I will be forever grateful for Jake's inspiration and introduction to the hobby and will, no doubt, be continuing to watch his extensive catalogue of videos as my journey starts into the hobby Jake was so passionately devoted to. Thank you for the inspiration Jake
So sad watching this video and knowing Jake is not around any more. I remember watching his videos when I first entered the hobby 10 years ago and his knowledge really helped me out. His passion for corals was infectious and made me want to learn more. RIP Jake.
I have a very similar line of thoughts that Jake had. I absolutely loved his mini rants!! Loved those times that he showed his tanks and corals in a very unique way either in tanks or in situ! His passion for corals was also very similar to what I have in my heart! It has been very hard for me to even think about participating in reef discussions after he passed! Jake was a very nice guy that knew how to communicate and express his thoughts in a very articulated way. I loved that! I am missing him a lot! We need to see how life is fragile and how much vulnerable we all are! How much sad and for how much longer can we be? Thanks for sharing his last video! Keep strong!

Rip Jake been tha hobby 2 year and love watching ur videos and I will continue to watch and learn from them. My condolences to tha family 🙏
Thank you for everything Jake. RIP sir. We will forever miss you.

RIP Jake Adams. I will be miss for your passion.
OMG , Jake was the best and God Bless his family. Such a helpful person and great man
