Good reminder regarding on how to rest the Red Sea tanks. My G2+ came with several pieces of wood, and I was confused at first on why it was included. Then i realized the bulk heads sticking out and not leveling with my floor. I quickly used the pieces of wood that came with the tank and rested it on top of them. * seeing Jake in the video from the past... hits differently. RIP Legend.
i’m a 3rd owner of a reefer 250 v1, and the 2 previous owners were good at maintaining the tank & checking the seams. i’m coming up to year 1 of this 4 year old reefer, but always weary of its wear & tear. i project this tank won’t survive another 4 years with me. but always check those seams when you can. and if you can, replace the drain valve.
I agree with Raj that building the tank system is the most fun part of the process. Even with re-scaping my existing tanks every 5 -8 years due to overgrowth nothing beat a complete NEW build.

I don’t understand why Red Sea used bad seal to begin with, as much I want to I’m not taking any chances with Red Sea I love their salt though. Did you buy the tank or it’s free?
@@murrmansreef3944 whats solid arent they little to new i got a sca 150 up for 4 almost 5 years now thats been through a 6.4 earthquake that was 13 miles from my house and plenty of smaller 5.0+ shit one of them even moved my stand a good 4+ inches and my tank is still standing just fine for 1/2 the price of a redsea tank
Glad you were able to get everything situated Remy, I felt that pain of moving tanks not too long ago when I moved into my new apartment broke our (brother and dad) backs nearly moving a RSR350...

Cabinet was a bit long to build compared to waterbox aluminium ones, but I can't really complain as long as it stays tough. Time will tell. Curious on what compartiment to use for skimmer / refugium to grow chaeto and host copepods tho.

I have the XXL750 and seeing others get busted gives me anxiety about mine. It does look like they have fixed these problems but I think CADE is much better.
I would never ever reward Red Sea with my dollars. I mean yes, companies make mistakes. But own up to it, get ahead of it before all the disasters strike, do a recall, make it right even if it means selling off all your assets to support all the people you have damaged. Have you seen all the videos of people trying to save their animals, all the backbreaking labor scrambling to get things to survive, all the years of love & care down the drain - it is totally heartbreaking. I don’t know how these people sleep at night.
I am conflicted between Waterbox infinia 230.6 and the Red sea 750 G2. Unfortunately it'll be difficult to get the Waterbox shipped where I live (Saudi Arabia) so Red sea is my only choice. Remy if you could, I know Red Sea is a sponsor of Reef Builders so it will be easy for you guys to reach out to them. Could you have the company come out to give clarifications on their tanks, the problems and their warranty agreements that they've had so that new customers like me could be assured about their products. I have been getting mixed opinions from people, especially in R2R there are many cases where Red Sea owners have their posts removed and their accounts blocked from the Red Sea page whenever anything related to this is mentioned instead of actually helping their customers who have spent thousands on their tanks

I was offered an LX 270.6 for around 3800 USD it's new inside the box but comes with no warranty and it's been sitting in a warehouse for several years, so I'm worried about the condition of the silicone drying up or something. My other option is to pay almost 6000 USD and buy the Reefer - S 1000 G2, which is slightly longer, comes with warranty and also has eurobracing at both the bottom and the top of the glass. But is more expensive
@@Chris58369 I checked out Cade tanks, there's an official Cade dealer 2 hours away from me that I have been speaking to and also asked for other people's experiences with Cade and honestly I am now more inclined to buy a Cade tank than any other! I am considering the CADE S2 2100, which is their largest model. I will do a bit more research and will give the dealer a visit to see the Cade tanks in real life.
Those leveling feet look really skimpy for all that weight why not have some real beefing ones on each corner or middle but yes those little leveling feet still don’t have me convinced imo

(it's not a huge problem to deal with a tank leaking at work vs the catastrophy of it happening at home)
I know ur a good person. But you having a Red Sea tank is like damage control instead of coming out and helping those that tanks failed, they should’ve addressed it themselves. Seems like they’re going through you to help regain trust. After a recent malfunction and countless deleting of posts, Red Sea should apologize.

@@ReefBuildersVideo Pretty sure that when you sell as many tanks as Red Sea does, the select few that have issues seem to everyone to reflect “a lot” of quality problems, when really it just looks that way because of the sheer volume of tanks they move each year. I doubt their failure rate is any higher than competitors. Unfortunately for them, it’s a byproduct of their success as a company, and there’s no good way to shake the stigma that has arisen due to stories about failing tanks having such intense visibility on social media.
Decided to go much bigger? Very nice. I loved my 2 Red Sea tanks but when I went big they couldn't compete with planet. Look forward to how this build moves along and what ends up in it.

This is not a negative comment. This is a reality comment. The WORST thing happened to me and an ONLY two-year-old Red Sea Reefer Peninsula 650. (Not an "older" tank as you suggest. Nothing can prepare you for a front seam blowout where 140 gallons of water gushes into your home in a matter of minutes. Thank God I was home. By the way a stock tank nearby as you suggest would have done nothing to help me. 140 gallons of saltwater went all over our nice hardwood floors seeping down through and into the AC system destroying ductwork, insulation and thousands of dollars in hardwood floors. Long story short, we were able to save some of the livestock and 1/4th of the Corals. Red Sea is in the process of replacing but with a smaller tank. They no longer make the 650 size. I'm getting a P500. I'd hoped they would have reimbursed me for the tank that I paid thousands of dollars for so I could go buy something different. But all they do is give you a credit. So here we go. Taking another big chance on a Red Sea tank.
Trust me, I was skeptical too. I'm here to learn, grow and connect the reefing community the best I can. That said, there are many faces of RB these days and lot of perspectives.
