Mitch does have the best voice ever. They were interviewing PTX and asked Kirsten about their acceptance to be on the Sing-Off. She said she cried because now the world would be able to hear Mitch sing.
I didnt know this and now I'm crying
And yet, Kirstin is also stellar herself.
You know we Pentaholics say that they don't do covers... they do upgrades! Everything they touch turns to gold. I've seen so many reactors who didn't like some song, but loved their cover of that song. I hope they'll do the same for you with Imagine.
Oh yeah. Pick any Christmas song that you would hate. Flat out can't stand. Listen to the PTX version, and you'll love it and refuse to listen to any other version.
Plus, he got hit hard with the PTX 2x4. Now he needs to listen to Amazing Grace
A lot of Reactors also say, "This song is my favorite," until they hear the next Pentatonix song!😁

Absolutely! I HATE 'The Twelve Days of Christmas'. I hated it even as a kid. But I actually really like PTX's version. Never thought I'd see the day!

I'm a cynical burned-out old man - and PTX's versions of "Imagine" and "Say Something" *still* make me cry. But in a good-way - can't wait to watch you experience 'em for the first time! All of us Pentaholics are a little sadistic that way, we *love* to watch someone's head asplode the first time they watch on of our favorites :)

I've never been a fan of "Imagine" either, but their video brings out something that turns it into more than the original presented. Another one that sticks with you is "Havana". I love it.

I felt like “Imagine” was just so played out. I would change the channel every time it came on. But Pentatonix brought it back for me, the appreciation of the poetry and the message that had become so stale!
The message through their version is so much deeper and meaningful to me. I never paid the other much attention. Maybe because I'm more "woke" now than I was then. LOL. It feels so appropriate for these times.

Imagine hit me hard. I never really liked it before. PTX gave it meaning.
There are many beautiful voices out there today. Some win-over their fans...and some even reach the hearts and souls of their listeners quite effectively. Seldom can one claim that there are singers that actually have the ability to capture, claim and own the souls of their fans, which there are many. This is PENTATONICS. Each voice individually is awesome. But together...OMG...there is a blend of both beauty and power. The Pentatonics version of this prayer song makes me cry. I feel like I've said my prayers, offering my heart and soul to God. "Absolutely powerful...stunningly beautiful...totally uplifting!!!" Thank you, PTX!!!
Definitely do Imagine sooner rather than later. They sing the song beautifully, but the message in the video is incredible.

'Run to you' is one of their firts originals and it's also very beautiful and emotional.
I truly believe this one will get them their 4th Grammy. This is so stunningly beautiful it's my favorite song off their Evergreen album. Your reaction was pure excitement and I love that you're always so excited about them.

They released a song called 'Thank You' - an original of their own - in the Christmas of 2020/21, just as the second lockdown was kicking in due to COVID. The combination of the timing, along with the heartfelt lyrics and visuals of the video, meant that next to nobody who watched it could get through it without tearing up; it perfectly summed up how EVERYONE was feeling around that time. So yeah, definitely add that one to your list, along with 'Imagine' and 'Say Something.'

I have heard this many times before, but Pentatonix made me love the song.
They have an amazing way to pierce though our souls and make us feel the music. They affect me the same way they do you. It's awesome.
It was my first time hearing this one for myself. This was soul touching for me. They sound so angelic to me. Not only that, the whole performance is totally touching. I cry almost every time that I hear them also. Amazing!

I love Mitch's voice too. I am always taken aback by it every time I hear it. I think he was the shyest one when they were on the, Sing Off. You could tell that he wasn't very secure with his voice. I believe he'd said he was teased in school. I hope he's come to know that he has the most incredible voice and that he has absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. I am in love with his voice!!!!

One of my faves is "Sing"! It's a real upbeat, feel good song and makes you want to get up and move. Try it out, if your feeling down it will pick you back up.

Scott Hoying (of the deep voice- bass? baratone?), and Mitch Grassi had formed a duet called Superfruit. Look up their official music video called “The Promise.” It’s incredibly compelling, heartfelt, and beautiful. I think Mitch wrote the lyrics. The way he embraced the song, the passion he put into his performance made it come alive for me. Watching that video was the first time I ever wished I were male. Ahh, Mitch. Not only am I the wrong gender, but too old as well. An exquisite voice, performer, and beautiful soul.
Yep! I get dust in my eyes everytime I hear this song, even if they aren't singing it. But with them singing it, it is even more beautiful.

I have watched The Prayer official video so many times. This time all I did was watch your eyes. You tearing up was exactly what I was expecting knowing what was coming from this song. Beautiful on all counts. Their voices and your tears.
Scott and Mitch going back and forth is just amazingly beautiful. Ptx does have some music videos with a different language. Usually Scott takes the lead in those. They’re pretty impressive.
Kirstie takes the lead in Perfume ( Japanese) IIRC, but yeah...Scott in Papaoutai is phenomenal!

So many great PTX covers and originals. I love “Amazing Grace” (look for Mitch’s wings), “Little Drummer Boy,” “Imagine,” and “Mary Did You Know.” My favorite original is “Be My Eyes.”

My sister and I sang 'The Prayer' at our Grandpa's funeral, and this rendition had be sobbing at the reminder. They KILLED it, and I'm so thankful that, even in some indirect way, my Grandpa's memory was honored.
I am a MASSIVE PTX fan but what I love more is witnessing their magic touch others and seeing their reactions. Every reaction feels like I am hearing them for the first time 💜
What I find so amazing is that Mitch, Scot and Kirsten all went to school together. What are the chances that 3 amazing voices met while in high school and have gone on to be what I think is the best acapella group ever. Their harmonies touch something in us that gives us chills.

You can watch any part of it again bc we love it obviously. Loved your reaction. I agree Mitch has a once in a lifetime voice like Whitney houston. There is a behind the scenes to this video and Scott said this was the best thing they had ever done. There is also a filming of them recording their latest Christmas album where they all listen to the final mix together and that's great!!
You might know this already but Scott, Mitch, and Kirstie started singing in their harmonies in high school. They've perfected the art of harmonizing. When they won the Voice a capella competition Mitch, Kirstie, and Scott were only 19 years old. Their evolution as singers has only begun been astounding. They just keep getting better and better. I love your reactions to PTX.

It is truly amazing what comes out of these five people and how it makes us feel. I have cried over many of their songs, not a sad cry but a cry of appreciation of how they make me feel. Never be afraid to show your emotions when you hear something as magnificent as what they sing. I'm 71 and have never and I mean never heard such beautiful music produced by five people. AND they do it with just their voices.
I have literally listened to this song hundreds of times. This song is so healing. This moves me so much.
The last note is Kevin. So happy that he has explored his actual singing voice and discovered a wide range. His version of Down is worth watching. And it’s a visual experience watching his talents at work. Love your reactions to PTX.
You'd love Anchor. It doesn't have a video though. It's seriously beautiful. And the Billie Eilish cover of 'When the Party's Over' is Mitch heavy. The harmonies are glorious in that one.
And yeah, as others have mentioned, you need to do Mitch's version of 'Your Power'. You'll need to keep a hold on your jaw for that one...

This has become my new Pentatonix favorite! Scott Hoying, in particular, did an amazing job singing Italian! I love this group and hope they never stop performing together! I've added to my bucket list that I'd love to see them perform in person at Christmas time! Btw, it's always Amazing Grace that makes me cry. That was my father's and his favorite dialysis nurse's favorite hymn. God, I miss him!
I had surgery for kidney cancer at 7 am on Oct. 28th, and this video dropped (for Patreon members) at midnight on the 29th. I was laying in a hospital bed in tremendous pain, and just watching this video gave me such peace and comfort that I was able to rest some. So that healing analogy you gave goes for more than just ears!
