Having served in the RAF myself, I can't help feeling a tinge of pride, as I watch these lads doing what they do best. The Queen's Colour Squadron, the finest drill display team in the world!
They were really good however, I will have to disagree with you. They pale in comparison to the USMC Silent Drill Team.... and as a drill team they should be carrying the greatest British rifle ever made the Lee-Enfield SMLE MkIII... those SA-80s suck as a both a drill rifle and a combat rifle...

This is a wonderful way to acknowledge the Queen's birthday and those that were there were treated with this fine display. Love how Great Britain shows the world class and dignity. Love all the uniforms etc. Carry on.
Even though this was 5 years ago, it is very impressive. It makes you proud to stand for freedom. What an honor for them to celebrate Her Majesty's birthday by doing this show for the people. Hoo hah!
Well Done! Thank you for posting the video! My Father served in the RAF and immigrated to the US in the mid fifties. I hope that our "special relationship" can endure with the UK!
Brought a little tear to my eye. brought back my marching out parade at RAF Swinderby in 1969 and being very tall I was right guard so my platoon and the two behind me, were all dependent on me keeping a straight line, but someone had parked a van, so I could not see the corner of the hanger my drill instructor had told me to line up with a white pole and a flag for that very purpose. By the time we got to where he halted us, I had swung the whole squadron about 3 metres to the right. I will never forget his swearing and cursing me under his breath as we stood to attention. Thankfully, after boot camp, I can't really recall the 5 years I stayed in, ever having to march like that again. Good thing I did not join the 'Rock Apes' i.e. these RAF Regiment guys were very good, especially it was not on a flat and wide parade ground but in a confined space, with the public having to be controlled and it was quite noisy. Like me using the corner of a hanger to march straight, their timing provided by the music as one unit has to be absolutely perfect. If just one of them makes a mistake (as I did) it can put the rest of the sequence out of order, so they would have practised that routine many times over and not where they actually did it. I was crap at marching but seeing those young men being that good, made me feel very proud to have served in the RAF which greatly changed me for the better and that we still have young people who felt as I did, wanted to defend our country. Back in my days the adverts' said "Join for the sport, comradeship and adventure" but my recruiting officer did not make it very clear, it was a job you may have to put your life on the line for. As an Aerial Photographic Operator was tasked one day to be sitting with my legs hanging out of a Success helicopter, with a great big camera strapped to my chest, which had been used in WW2. I had to press a button to film us passing by bushes on a cliff face in Cyprus that might be hiding Turkish Cypriot arms caches. To my absolute horror, found a machine gun firing at the helicopter I was in, I literally shat my self and was so grateful the pilot pulled off and we went back to Akrotiri airport. My point all those young men now, do not have the soft job I mainly had, which was processing and printing aerial photos back in England. They will be guarding RAF personnel, equipment and planes that often can now be in obscure parts of the world where they will be facing non-regular military personnel i.e. terrorists. That very high level of marching display showed so well they can work together in a very efficient way. All my respect and admiration.

I expect it instils discipline, working together as a well oiled machine, concentration and focus. All necessary in battle situations. This is not done purely for show, but for physical skill and concentration. Teamwork which is needed in con flict situations. Well done guys. You are superb. My dad had 2 brothers killed in WW1. He never knew them as he was born in 1913. My mum had 2 brothers in WW2. One a gunner on Russion convoys. Torpedoed and woke in a Russian hospital and said they were treated as heroes. On the day of Queen Elizabeth's funeral I was beyond impressed with the fact that every branch of service practiced through the previous night to get every detail right for the funeral procession. That day was a pageant for the ages, showing the commonwealth's appreciation of their monarch.
Me too, I used to love watching The Royal Tournament each year, but they dont do it any more. Plus we wont be having Trooping the Colour AGAIN!! this year. Dont know about you, but brings a lump to my throat.
I was hoping to see them do stairs in formation! Thanks to whomever posted this. Spectacular. Edited to say angles and curves are hard but they were perfect!

Outstanding. This kind of precision takes months to get right, and they nailed it. Great choice of music: Eagle Squadron, Battle of Britain theme, Aces High march (both from the Battle of Britain soundtrack), and ending with Eagle Squadron reprise. Kinda missed the RAF March Past, but nothing could spoil this performance.
The royalty is just a waste of money....north worth the billion pounds/year for these silly shows...it needs to be abolished and people need that money
YES!!! That took me back to my RAF Regiment days. A short stint at QCS I say short stint because I was sent back to my regiment after 6 months as new intake towered above me, :) But I did enjoy the pomp and pageantry. Happy 100 years to my fellow RAFians
The precision of it all .. brilliant love the fixing of the bayonets and the Battle of Britain music.. also the Luftwaffe March tune.. so glad these guys are on our side. Well done lads
It's a shame the girl filming this missed the concept of the finishing move, 90. ALL those manoeuvres were done on a single word of command. Brilliant lads, well done!
Absolutely wonderful. Brought back all of my childhood memories watching my dad. He was in the Lancs. Fusilliers Band in Colchester. I live in California but love watching British Military, there's nothing like it in the world. Brilliant job R.A.F.
When I was doing my trade training (Supp-A) at RAF Hereford in summer 1973, we had quite a lot of parades & high-ranking visitors. The music we marched to was provided by the RAF Apprentices band. Thank god we are leaving.
A wonderful display.
I wonder how many UK citizens and tourists that day had a smile on their faces after seeing that?!
👍🇬🇧
I love an RAF drill display anytime! My dad served with the RAF as a chaplain after a short spell as an airman.
When I used to drill it was one of the most rewarding things I'd ever done. I didn't realize it at the time, but I do miss it now.
Thank you for sharing this video. It is always amazing to see their performance.
Brilliant makes one feel so proud to be British 🇬🇧

I agree bc I'm British
Hi
Hi
Hi
Thank you for that beautiful march. It was really great. That was a great tribute to Queen for her 90th birthday.
.
precision timing well done to the arm force of the UK awesome bunch of team members well done keep up the good work.
On the day of Queen Elizabeth's funeral I was beyond impressed with the fact that every branch of service practiced through the previous night to get every detail right for the funeral procession. That day was a pageant for the ages, showing the commonwealth's appreciation of their monarch.
Amazing. RIP her majesty. We won't see her like again.
I love when they cross walk by one another without bumping or missing a step. I love that.
It was great to see and hear so many onlookers appreciating them
Thank you so much. Being older people in the USA. That was most enjoyable.
MAKES ME VERY PROUD TO BE BRITISH

Me too, I used to love watching The Royal Tournament each year, but they dont do it any more. Plus we wont be having Trooping the Colour AGAIN!! this year. Dont know about you, but brings a lump to my throat.
How utterly brilliant! From Tasmania, Australia! Love it!!
so incredible! I love flashmobs. There need to be more of them.
Wow wonderful thank you so much for you service to our country
I was hoping to see them do stairs in formation! Thanks to whomever posted this. Spectacular. Edited to say angles and curves are hard but they were perfect!
As an ex-RAF serviceman myself, I can honestly say that took precision and hours of practice, Fantastic!
My Dad would of been in tears watching this, he would of been so proud.
I wonder how many people missed their train because they were watching this! Great stuff, thanks for sharing.
I couldn't believe the amount of people who ignored it completely. I would gladly be late for whatever I was going to if I stumbled across something like this.
I LOve how the guys heads go up a bit and their shoulders are squarer when the battle of Britain music starts at 3.30

Great show, compliments from an ex RNLAF nco. RAF...the best there is..................
A big thank you to Britain's military, to all people who have been, will be and are in the military. You make Britain proud
Bloody marvellous, my dad was ex RAF and he was so proud of them, had me crying too proud of our armed forces 🇬🇧
What amazes me is the people walking nonchalantly past like nothing is happening. I would love to have been there to see this. Fantastic.
One hell of a show thanks for sharing god bless our service men & women
Ian Murray was
You got that right...
Thanks
Agree!
Kisii song
Lovely to see! Also the respect shown by the passengers as these guys saluted Her Majesty!
As ex WRAF I have to say I was proud to see the display those RAF Regiment boys put on.
As an Australian, I am moved. God save our Queen!
The precision of it all .. brilliant love the fixing of the bayonets and the Battle of Britain music.. also the Luftwaffe March tune.. so glad these guys are on our side. Well done lads
Don't get how they never crash into each other in the bit at 05:10! Very clever.
Absolutely love it! My son is in the RAF - proudest Mum ❤️
Speechless! Pure perfection! Great work RAF! Makes me proud to have spent my childhood in Britain :-)
Made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. Absolutely marvellous.
Concept not at all missed. Impossible to film full breadth of display.
@@maureenmcglynn638 Some of the American forces not bad to some brilliant arms drill
@@richarddavies1163 oh you mean the ones that provoke the wars or just invade?
When I was doing my trade training (Supp-A) at RAF Hereford in summer 1973, we had quite a lot of parades & high-ranking visitors. The music we marched to was provided by the RAF Apprentices band. They could play 2 tunes. The RAF march and I'll Haily & The Comets' Rock Around the Clock. Yes, that song IS a march! 😂😂
I had no idea the RAF could do these drills, and with such perfection.
you are correct only the RAF Regiment does drill to this level the rest of the RAF are well shall we say nothing to be kind
Absolutely effortless superb everything and everyone's times fantastic God save the queen
