I love this video! Creative objective markers are so fun. Here's what I'm planning for a couple of armies I'm working on (open to suggestions also!)
    Defenders of Helm's Deep:
    - Civilians sheltering in the glittering caves
    - The statue of Helm you see in the films
    - Maybe supplies from an armory, like a barrel of throwing spears
    Cirith Ungol:
    - A couple of Shelob's victims
    - The mithril coat
    - The silent watchers at the gates
    - Gollum (to make up for that fact that he should've been in this legion!!)

      Thanks Sam!
Very cool ideas. How will you do the civilians? will there be crystals on the bases?
I did find a miniature that looks similar to the statue - might just need some re-posing: unreleasedminiatures.eu/free-men/173-dynasty-progenitor-ft.html but if you are UK based you might struggle as I don't think they deliver here anymore :(
Great idea for the silent watchers! Any ideas on how you will you make them, will they be the gargoyle type ones or the multiple headed crow type ones?
haha I can only agree! Gollum would have made the legion so much better. Playing it seems flat sometimes- I think he would have added that extra punch for the heroes that the legion needs.

I bought some Cursed City bats to make Bat Swarms for Razgush's army and used the pillars that came with them along with some Dol Guldur Ruins bits to make some Ruin/skeleton themed objective markers.I'll probably do some "person wrapped in spiderwebs" markers aswell as I have the Wargames Atlantic spider set. They shoudl work well for Cirith Ungol. Maybe even for a homebrew Cirith Ungol Battle Companies scenario about rescuing soldiers etc.

@@windrushwargamers2745 you get three 25mm bases with a small "swarm" each. one is basicly just one massive bat. I got three sets and put them on two 40mm bases, cutting off most of the pillars and piling them on top of each other. most of the bats are quite small when compared to the metal Bat Swarm but I kind of like that.

I have converted two sets of objective markers as of today. One is a set of barrels numbered 1-6 taken which where leftovers from my rohan houses and they work great as neutral supplies of some kind.
The other set consists of small micro dioramas simulating parts of a battlefield to act as points of strategic importance and are mainly for my erebor and hunter orc armies.

Well I was saying I was happy the video finally came out. You also mentioned ALL my ideas for thematic markers, and added some new ideas to them. F.e. I'm biting my ass rn that I glued my "Twilight" Frodo into the diorama whilst he would have been a perfect marker for every army good and evil.

Well I guess i could remove Frodo to make him an objective marker. But more likely I'll just have to make another, as I don't want to risk destroying the diorama. Luckily the plastic fellowship isn't that expensive. Or I'll just use one of my metal ones. Unfortunately you literally had everything else in the video which had in mind as objective markers, but if I come up with another I'll make sure to let you know :)
edit: f.e.: banners, banners are also something I saw as objective markers. Also markers which don't fit the army, but the gaming board, like Oris book on a Balins Tomb table, maybe Boromirs Horn on Amon Hen, a fire, pan and breakfast for Amon Sul...

    • @windrushwargamers2745
      @windrushwargamers2745  2 года назад +1

Thanks! The horn was from a dark ages kit of some kind- I believe Saxon- not sure I bought it some time ago. It must have been the same kit as the windsock. I am not sure of the exact kit, but I know that they are fairly common throughout Dark ages kits- so if you do a google search you should be able to find it or something very similar. Hope this helps.
