- After a weekend with the stunning 2016 Aston Martin DB11...I have decided it is my new favourite car. An incredible piece of engineering, and the beginning to a new era at Aston Martin!

The taillights themselfs look great but the rear in general.. no the old rear looked much better imo. This rear soo high and strange.. really don't like that
Jort Rinket I preferred the DB9's rear too. I have seen a DB11 on the road in black. It looks very sexy in that colour, less so in lighter colours.
They looked real outdated to me compared to the beautiful front of the car.

Fun fact, airliners don't typically take off with 'full power', takeoff thrust is reduced depending on a number of factors. Full power wears engines faster, wastes fuel, and would be uncomfortable for most.

The AMG GTS needs to be replaced - what about the Huracan Spyder? Ferrari FF? AM V12S Manual or Vantage V12?
Anonymous why does it need to be replaced? You can't just swap cars like Pokemon cards you know it costs tens of thousands each time with cars like that

I really love his excitement over fuel economy. I've got a V12 Vantage and I work as hard as possible to get my fuel economy as low as possible!! Anything more than 8 means I'm slacking ;)
The DB11 is a car that grows on me the more I see it. The sound is wonderful as well, even with a smaller displacement and two snails, it still sounds and more importantly, revs just like the 5.9 N/A V12 it replaces. The Mercedes electronics also look like they fit right at home in that car.
I prefer the vanquish, or v12 vantage s and yes I know that isn't one of aston gt cars.
The cup holders are like that because they're adjustable, so they hold pressure on the cup for ANY size drink!

V12 twin turbo... In my mind, it must produce a unforgettable turbo lag but I may be wrong too. And yeah merry christmas.
jr nascimento Twin turbos don't have lag as there are two of them.
SRM Solar radiation management Geoengineering I think that if you want a turbo to supply air into a V 12, you will need big turbochargers and big turbos are known for take a long time to spool up so, it will produce turbo lag but as I said, I may be mistaken about this car.
jr nascimento Which is why there are two turbochargers. One spools up before the other to avoid turbo lag.
jr nascimento this engine should actually have very little turbo lag because it's a 5.2L v12 which would already be quite powerful even without turbos. This means that they can use turbos that don't have to add that much power meaning they run relatively low boost and spool up quite quickly because of that.
Also, you shouldn't forget that a larger engine doesn't only need more air in the intake as opposed to a smaller engine, but it also produces more air from the exhaust which makes a turbo spool up faster. So when looking at a larger turbocharged engine the larger demand (intake air) kind of evens out with the larger supply (air from the exhaust).
I hope this somewhat clarifies it.
SRM Solar radiation management Geoengineering this actually isn't true because the two turbos are identical and spool up at exactly the same time. Each cylinder bank has it's own turbo. This is done so that the distance from the exhaust valve to the turbo can be reduced, this helps to improve throttle response and in fact reduces turbo lag (the air has to travel less distance to get to the turbo and thus takes less time).
Is that smoke coming from the exhaust at 3:50 behind you?

That's insane, I drove to London and back from Southampton yesterday and I averaged just over 40mpg in my Fiesta ST! This car is incredible!

Todun Olusola Take my uneducated remark with a grain of salt, I'm not that familiar with the Aston Martin lineup, but this is how I see the DB11. I'd much rather pay a little more (is it even more expensive nowadays?) for a Vanquish volante

I only ever liked the DBS before but I'm convinced this is their best Aston for a while. Might have to look at getting one instead of an F12 TDF.

Personally, I feel as though I can get behind this car. If I'm being honest my dream car is a tesla model s. But I do have to say the curves on the car, the sound of the engine, and the amount of leather along with the overall look just makes me want to have it that much more. Plus I'm English so we have to take that into account as well. Well done on this video Paul!!

The engine has a feature that when cruising it shuts down a bank of cylinders, becoming a 2.6L turbo inline 6
There is no way that Paul can drive that car with a hoodie and a cap without people thinking he's a footballer.
This is not a double clutch, it is a ZF - a regular torque converter: as for example in a BMW 320 or M140i. The M3 has a double clutch.

You have to check the avrage mpg after a full tank to know the correct fueleconomy, how can you NOT know this?... and ofc the range of the car is going to be good when you drive the car like my grandmother on the highway...
DB11 looks fantastic! Don't know why people complain about the rear, for me this is best looking Aston ass to date. And line of the car from side is just so smooth and elegant. The only thing I never liked much on Aston's is design of the front grill, but on DB11 even front is buying me over!
