- Is this the best twin turbo sound from a car? The Aston Martin 5.2 V12 sounds utterly incredible! I blast the DB11 to a tunnel to listen to the brand new engine!

At first when I saw the DB11 (which I believe was unveiled at Geneva), I thought it was hideous. But as most things do, it grew on me and now I really like it.

For me, my priorates for a car goes as fourth… 1. Fun, exciting and involving to drive. 2. The looks. 3. The sound.
It's still noticeably more muffled than the NA V12
it sounds better than a turbocharged engine normally would but I still think it doesn't sound like a naturally aspirated aston martin v12, a vanquish is the prime example of a properly aston martin

That's because Aston NA V12 always sounded somewhat wet, somewhat turbo-ish. It wasn't exactly like Ferrari NA V8 or V12, I mean, high-pitched "dry" tone.
So, turbo V12 hasn't got much worse because *NA was not that good* in the first place.

I personally liked the rear end, reminds me of that concept car few years back....
Ferrari or Lambo v12s sound tiresome after 30 mins but this AM v12, I can listen to it all day long and will still want more. Smooth, powerful and just intoxicating, it's currently the best sounding engine along with Lexus NA v8s.

About the California T and California sound comparison we rented one here in Dubai a few months ago and we found it to be abesolutley spot on however from the old California, there was something missing but only so little. The reason I know this is because my mate has one. All in I think it is a great package and a sure competitor to the DB11 which I have also heard and seen in person
Today i went to see the DB 11, i am very interested in this car. First i was interested in the Vanquish S, but after seing this one...ohhhh i prefer the DB 11...

tfw the face is a 10 but the ass is a 1. Pretty much describes the DB11. Also the push start instead of slotting your key in to start the car is a huge bummer. Lastly, it sounds okay but it doesn't sound Aston Martin good. It has a burble and that's a must for cars like this but it's not the same. Prefer the DB9 tbh but it's not bad.
The look will grow on you, i thought the front looked like it was taken straight out of a Cat fish but now i get it. Also don't forget it's the first DB11, there are many evolutions to come.
The digital instrument cluster is a real disappointment too. Aston should have stuck with their instrumentation as it honestly looked timeless. The new Panamera with its analogue dials, yet futuristic interior elsewhere, should have been a clear template for Aston's interior designers!

Incredibly beautiful car - aesthetically, mechanically and engineering. It is so much more of all in person v. any video or pictures. Have driven twice and placed my order.
It sounds really good! However, compared to other Aston NA V12s, it doesn't hold up. It's got a bit of the low grumble, but it feels kind of muted in comparison. Put it next to a GT12 or a DBS and let them all roar, the DB11 will not hit the same highs as the two others. Looks haven't grown on me either, and again it's a case of "yes it's very pretty indeed, but older Astons were timeless masterpieces -true works of art".

Paul I think you could be a bit high. This is exact the sound change between the 458 and 488. The DB11 doesn't sound nearly as good.

I don't think it's in his budget, it just came out so he'd have to pay sticker, can't get a used one. Plus he'd have to handle the depreciation.
The Ferraris turbos sound is amazing, the 488 sound better than 458 for me!!!
