u know why aston martin puts the seat control on the right? to operate it with ur left hand while ur right lays on the center console. cause many people cruise around in these cars with their left hand on the steering wheel and their right chilling on the dash right next to them. so u dont operate it while u drive, u do it before driving to see if its comfortable for ur right arm to lay in a certain position. *no joke intendet*
Caligula I'm pretty sure Aston could easily get way more hp out of it if they wanted. The car just doesn't need more than 600 hp.
the v12 are produced by aston, the v8 get delivered by mercedes in the new vantage models

IMO the Vanquish is one of the if not the most stunningly and strikingly beautiful cars of all time, especially in that sky blue like james may drive on top gear. And that's coming from a primarily American car guy.

The only way for a car to be perfect would be if it had the cargo capacity of a cargo van, the weight of an F1 car, the steering feel of a 1965 Porsche 911, the looks of a Jag E-Type, the reliability of a single wire diesel truck, the acceleration of an F1 car, the grip of an F1 car, the Materials of a Pagani Huayra, the technology of an s600 Maybach, the size of a smart car, the offroad capability of a dune buggy and so on. I could go on with these impossible things that a "perfect car" would need. Also, 100k is WAY too cheap to expect perfection. Maybe for 1+ million, you should expect perfection(not to the extent that I just detailed, but at least perfection in what the car set out to be). For example, you couldn't reasonably expect a 100k Corvette to be as powerful as a Ferrari 488 and have just as nice materials as a 488.
The Z06 comes pretty damn close lol

With cost not a factor, as expected from those who would buy an Aston Martin, the Vanquish is more appealing in several ways obviously. Its a flagship vs the more entry level. Vanquish last non turbo gorgeous AM.
I have to say this is the best GT car one can buy now, the interior and exterior just incredible

@4:34 you showed the interior of a gen 1 vantage whereas the vanquish has an updated cleaner version of that dashboard. Know your facts before you try to talk down on the vanquish
its the same the only difference is touch sensitive buttons and screen is not only for the nav that's why i traded my vanquish for the db11 amr it's a revolution of the brand because the vanquish was a little unreliable unlike the db11

You should get this car in the orange color it looks sportier than the blue.
I think it's sad that people judge cars based on tech equipment and entertainment systems. it means that the car will be "crappy" in just a few years. forget all that, drive the car and own it and take care of it for as long as you can. it you need to upgrade iPhone connectivity, just upgrade it, or alternatively, get a life.
thank you for a well produced video. I was really not enjoying the content for the past few months which opened with you holding the camera at point blank distance. I know that taking the time to make this type of video is time consuming but the quality is much better.

That's the third time you mentioned the button that opens the centre console, which is pretty funny because that's one of the main things that stuck in your head about the car.
the problem here is that the reviewer isn't necessarily a purist and maybe being paid to say the DB11 is better - however its not about the console or the nice seats its about the drive experience and sound of the big naturally aspirated 12 - ANYWAY NICE REVIEW but for me the VANQUISH WINS AS ITS WAY BETTER LOOKING and has same 8 speed gearbox and slicker looking waterfall console with heptic feedback - think the db 11 standard model is just not that attractive as the lines on the Vanquish - Boom ! - I do like this guy as his videos are very entertaining and highly detailed so well done mate :)

It looks heaps better than the Vanquish. The Vanquish looks like any Aston has ever looked.. This looks fresh new and is absolutely georgous

In comparison to noise my personal fav is Lexus LFA.
This car compares to the 488 GTB (this being the DB11) and the 458 Speciale (being the Vanquish S). The 488 GTB is a superb car, tremendous and very fast indeed, but the 458 speciale, the Vanquish S in this case, is just special. It's exhaust note, rumbling engine, you just can't beat those.
I would get a Jaguar F-Type R in 8 seconds over this, and save the $120k difference, or buy a Lexus LC500 with it.

I'd buy an AMG GT C or AMG GT R over an f type any day.

The best no cocaine theory i can come up with is he left a very gloomy dark area to go to a bright sunny region which will cause your eyes to get smaller with more light.
@vehiclevirgins have you noticed that the fender design looks like a turbo? Look at a picture of the db11 from the side and you'll noticed that the wheel well and fender design pretty much represent a turbo

The Vanquish is more of a supercar than the DB11. The DB11 is more of a GT car. I love them both.
The Vanquish looks and sounds 100× better that's what it does better... The interior tho, when it lacks, it reminds me of something from old Ford Focus.

@ 4:03: what an AMAZING profile on this car. This car is what you usually see as "concepts" for other car makers ***cough BMW cough cough**. But as usual, too, the package is incomplete with those hideous running lights and headlights. Picture this car with thinly sliced, menacing looking halos from the BMW i8 concept car. HOT!!!!

Launch controll is difficult with a slow working differential (is it still Quaiffe-differential) like Aston uses...
Yes, it is a limited slip differential...but it takes way too long for the diff to "close" hence the rear wheel on the inside spins like a madman. No launch controll can work properly with those components...

Besides obvious parts taken from the Mercedes C-E and S...the interior of this car looks and feels a lot like the Mercedes C-AMG.

Yes the DB 11 is great, but In the Aston line up, the Vantage V12S was the way to go .. it was truly breathtaking!
