They sound Eerie and tranquil. Sad and at peace. The tired moons you're on are orbiting dead white dwarfs and dying red giants. There's no future left for those moons- their time has come and pass. Yet for a moment you can stand and observe their beauty once more, at least while its still there.
It’s like, for a moment, you can escape the horrors of your situation and realize that you’ve just landed on a moon, far away from earth. You’re exploring the solar system
I was literally playing with my brother, had the first theme start playing and told him "this music is very Minecraft Alpha" Unfortunately he didn't have music at the same time as me so he just asked "What music?" Glad someone else was reminded of Minecraft though. Definitely transported me right back to those days too
Ive noticed a whole lot of lethal company seems to relate to childhood memories. The nutcracker, the jester, and the ghost girl are all like demented versions of typical childhood things, especially since one of them is literally a child. Also a whole lot of the scrap is things like hair brushes and toys. I feel like having music that brings you back to early minecraft really fits with the rest of the childhood imagery in the game well, even if it was unintentional.
This music is truly just so tranquil and nice. And the fact that it only plays for one player at a time, makes it feel like your character is just thinking. They are scared, being so far from home, with random people, knowing that there are imminent dangers just around the corner, but they feel peace. Just being outside, with nature. Simply wandering.
Every time these would start playing, I'd ask my friends, "Are you guys hearing a piano?" When they said no, I didn't feel uneasy, like when seeing the little girl I just felt personally touched.
Company building always hits my feelings. When people arent spamming the mic or the music doesnt stop because of sound overload, its very peacefully melachonic dropping off your scrap admist all the stress of the daily toil. "Your handiwork is invaluable to the company." "You are true, professionals." No amount of robotic reminders will make you forget something you already know is true about your situation. Just... Reminds you that underneath all the fun, this games lore is a pretty fucked scenario. 😔 Financial troubles making people contract themselves into something they had zero idea was near fatal.
Ambient 3 is the best imo if gives off such a feeling of nostalgia and errieness. It gives me the same vibe the safe room music gives in resident evil. The calm before storm preparing yourself before going in to get more scrap with your friends for the company.
I’ve been looking everywhere for this music! The piano in the first track is amazing. Tranquil and dreamy, but off putting. Reminds me of the soundtrack to the movie Waking Life.
I remember the very first time I booted up the game I played single player to test it and this played immediately as I got out on experimentation. I was walking around like I was in a game trailer. Legitimately magical.
I love these ambient themes, even if they aren’t played all that often. All the ambient themes remind me so much of Minecraft’s soundtrack, but it sounds more fitting for the game here. The themes here sound peaceful and hopeful as you make your adventure to a facility, except something feels…off. Then you realize, maybe the planet you’re on, isn’t as peaceful as it seems. Also, I feel like these themes will become nostalgia songs years down the line, just like Minecraft’s OST. In Minecraft, when I was younger, I didn’t pay too closely to the music. But today, hearing it always takes me back to when I was kid, playing Minecraft endlessly with my friends. I think most can relate to that feeling. As of now, we don’t really think too much of the themes for this game, but something tells me that that will change. This game is endless amounts of fun and definitely is one of the best indie games we have gotten in a long time, and I think it’s here to stay. It will have that same effect for current players years down the line-we just don’t know it yet.
its nice to listen to these tracks when its still early in the run, you are carrying 90+ lbs, and are slowly making your way to the ship. gives time to reflect
This gives me nostalgic vibes of Spore's OST for some reason, and that is my childhood game, this game really is just... something, for sure its OST, its gameplay loop, its unique and Zeekers is onto something. Especially in the audio department for music and sound design.
its crazy this game was made by a roblox game developer that is 12 years old and now hes making his own stand-alone games that blew up its just crazy to me i used to play his games
The outside music really caught my attention the second I heard any of these. A sort of retro style kinda reminds me of Super Mario 64 music. Definitely a unworldly vibe which works perfectly since you're on alien moons, it sets the atmosphere just right and has real charm to it. I appreciate whenever I hear it and tell my other crewmates to STFU and listen.
This music is just incredible. I'm pretty sure one of the first times I heard this outdoor ambience was when I played the game for the first time with two friends of mine, and we had no idea where we were going. I got stuck in some random cliffside on Assurance with one of my friends, but while he made it out, I couldn't escape and listened to this ambience until the ship took off again. Did a very good job making me forget I was playing a horror game. Can't believe this game is already six months old.
@@adrena-rage you could make them if you wish, the melodies are not very complex and don't resolve to a key that isn't the root note. This is what i believe to be the cause of the desolate empty sound that is produced.
I think this music does an excellent job of encapsulating the feeling of joyous horror one must feel upon exploring a forgotten moon. The combination of excitement and despair culminates together, creating a unique feeling and realization. The realization that the function of man was never to preserve life for himself, but to explore, and live, and die.
When me and my friends play, I have a reputation for going fire exit by myself, and sometimes when I yell to them “im going fire!” Sometimes I just walk instead of running, maybe look up at the star the moon orbits or just enjoy the quiet along with the gentle melody playing, because I know for a fact the comfort wont last long.
I think you should make an extended version of this mix of ambient music, maybe like a 1 hour loop? I would love to just be able to listen to this over and over again without having to hit replay! Regardless though, thanks for putting this out there! I really appreciate it 😊
ambient 3 is just peak imo, its so... nice. fitting, even. walking through the forest moons with this playing is just awesome, like you have a moment to look at nature before you inevitably leave the moon for the rest of your life to go to rend dine and titan to live for as long as you can, so the company doesnt fire you.
I'm so glad someone has uploaded this. This music is so often overlooked by the majority of players and yet it is one of my favorite things about the entire game. It's a nice little sigh of relief as you breathe in the fresh air of a new day while also preparing for what's to come. 2 and 3 are amazingly beautiful and make me somewhat emotional. I really hope Zeekers expands upon this.

Ambient 2: On March, not even past 2 pm. Me and another crew were carrying a full hall back to the ship. He wasnt as heavy as me so he ran ahead, the music kicked in and instead of sprinting I just causally strolled back. In the distance I could see he made it and he shouted "I beat you slow poke" In the middle of the song as I got back, I could hear our third member teaching our fourth inexpeirenced intern how to work the terminal. All four of us together as the song faded away. I wish had had screen recording, but I have that memory at least.

It's crazy how they managed to really pull those nostalgic strings and make music that's genuinely compareable to C418's stuff. It gives optimistic vibes in a world that doesn't care about you.
