Personal space is real and no matter how "different" someone is you don't just walk up to them and touch them or their hair or their body ( Ive had it all whilst in china) ...Hopefully, after this some will understand how we feel when they walk up to us and just touch us without even asking at the very least - and yes some do ask but most don't! And I can feel some people will say oh they don't mean anything by it, but ultimately invading someones personal space like this is uncomfortable and awkward either way! very interesting video! nice one ladies!

    I really enjoy watching your content haha, but I genuinely think it would be more interesting if it was a situation where people touch your hair then you touch theirs back instantly , that would be nice to see as a comparison of their reactions on the spot 😌. In this kind of situation some people who don’t typically touch others hair may have felt uncomfortable ( just like how you felt when others did the same) cause you really can’t tell who respects boundaries or not. This isn’t a criticism btw❤️just had it in mind as that seemed like a fairer comparison. I know this is all for fun haha!

My hair was now so healthy that I decided to wear it out in a big curly Afro. On the way to work I stopped to buy coffee and a lady 🙄 reached out to touch my hair, but I dramatically ducked out of her reach while saying "Ooooh no no no"....and I stared at her...and I held the stare. Then I turned my back on the the lady, I smiled at the cashier, paid for my coffee and left. When I got to work I was ready. A certain person 🙄 reached out to touch my hair and I screamed. People ran over to my cubical and asked me what was wrong. I told them "I saw her reaching out towards me and it scared me." She never tried that shit again.

      Aside from the offense that comes from violating someone's personal space, a foreigner's personal space... there's the other offensive thing, which is the entitlement. The entitlement that some Chinese people have, which spurs them to approach foreigners and touch them without permission. Touching them because they can. @@vivenwen8884 You’ve really missed the point. It doesn’t matter how old the person is. Chinese people have often touched Busola’s hair so of course, she can do the same to them. There’s nothing wrong with treating people the way they treat you.

      Are you legally blind or suffered from asian inferiority complex, which part of it could be described as “educating”? Did they ever educate anyone touching ppls hair is not good manner? This is pranking n has nothing to do with fighting casual racism.

    • @mvft168
      @mvft168 Год назад +2

      And why do you assume ppl are racist for touching ppls hair anyway? I was born with naturally curly hair n was quite used to this. Afaik for our older generation it was just their way trying to be friendly. Heck would you touch someone if you think they are inferior? Why do you think the lowest indian caste is called the untouchable? See this is an example of educating, it’s not about pranking ppl on the street. Racism used to mean something very serious like segregation and you don’t normally found it in a country w/o e.g. black slavery. I dunno what’s wrong with you kids these days in this woke culture but it’s rarely helpful to label someone racist in such a frivolous fashion. Identity politics is the worst and is destroying the western society. there are many more awesome things you can learn from western culture such as science and rationalism than being a cynical snob by casually labeling ppl as racists…

But I totally get your idea on making this, it’s a critical issue happening especially among the middle aged women when they see you, and being impolite to touch your hair without asking, but trust me they are just happy to see a different person in their boring daily life not to mention you are at Guiyang.

    Funny video, ladies.
    Aside from giving them a taste of their own medicine I think the main takeaway is this: The reaction of most Chinese people was to duck and look frightened, then try to swiftly move away. Remember this. This is the appropriate response to give the next time a Chinese person comes close and touches your hair. Maybe even scream in horror a little as well, to really dramatize the situation. Let this be your new reaction because it’s clearly the appropriate reaction.
