In the Philippines, there are different terms for teacher.
Teacher: Guro/Teacher/Maestro or Maestra/Propesor

stol in kazach and uzbek is interesting, in german we have "Stuhl", which means chair. There is probably some very ancient connection with these words. As in the "elevated board that things and people can be placed on"
stol is russian word. Kazakhs and uzbeks use many russian words in daily life because they were part of Soviet Union.

Tagalog has lots of similiarities with traditional languanges in indonesian.
I think what makes the differences is that tagalog influenced by spanish, while indonesian is influenced by sanskrit, arabic, dutch, portuguese, and some of the traditional language aside of melayu languange (which is the base of indonesian languange)

The use of "guru/guro" is simply the result of Sanskrit influence across South and Southeast Asia. Sanskrit to much of Asia is what Latin is to much of Europe.

@@lugartan3418 yeah the Arabs may have brought pen but in India we had lipi(writing script) with different natural inks. In taxila university ruins in Pakistan ancient ink has been discovered. Those are natural colours with long lasting capacity.
Oh oh I forgot we had indus valley civilization 5000 years ago in both India and Pakistan where people had clay tablets with writing.
