I missed all your post-op videos. I was out of town and away from my internet. I will have to get all caught up. Glad to see a video from you. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for posting these videos! I am one week post op (today), and was looking to find out the experiences of others who had an abdominal hysterectomy. I, also, had complications. I have a really hard time laying in bed, so it was good to hear that this feeling is normal. A am going to watch more videos so that I can better understand what is happening. And, yes, you are right about the fiber... Again, thank you for posting these videos!
What a blessing to have such a wonderful family and mother there to help you, especially with the complications you had. That was my worst fear also. I ended up with them taking my right ovary due to complications with endo&adhesions etc so I only have my left one. My emotions have been so yo-yo, I don't know if that's why or not. U r a strong woman. Looks like we have some things in common too. Praying 4 U!
Thanks for being such an open book! It's helping me as I prepare. I appreciate all the practical tips, like having a handy table, and the products you like using---and about the oxygen--I had no idea! And your mom is precious! Great video!
I'm having surgery in 2 weeks. Getting nervous. Blessed though, because like you,my Mom will be helping me. And, like yours, she won't let me get away with anything!😂
After my total hysterectomy over UVA in Charlottesville, Va it hurt me to take a deep breath, but I feel better now, make sure after your air mattress goes down they get you a foam mattress.
Thank you so much for sharing your story! I suffer from Hydrosalpinx & Adenomyosis. Also I have a fibroid. Heavy cycles and severe cramping the first 2 days of my cycle. Only cure is a hysterectomy. Still haven't made a decision on what I will do. Thank you again for sharing! Hope you're doing well!!
Mysterious2 U I'm not familiar with your however I'd like to share something with you. First, finding a nutritionist, some chiropractors are also nutritionist. Second, look into AHCC (to build immunity) and CBD oil.
Mysterious2 U Eat organic. Find a nutritionist/chiropractor. Also listen to RUclips videos of Charlotte Gerson. Learn about the Gerson Therapy, (mostly about cancer but helps other areas of health). I regret every single day that I got a hysterectomy. Been sick and in pain for OVER a year. Living with digestive and bowel problems. Genital atrophy and no sex anymore.
Bowel problems may also be from all the antibiotics given for surgery. Please look to a nutritionist and seek out organic probiotics (start at a high level). Smart doctors use probiotics BEFORE surgery of any kind. Yes, warm liquids are best. Sometimes I'd have to drink a very large war glass of water but then kneed or flex my stomach muscles to move it around. It helped on my worse days. I still, after one year, use hot liquids, I'm becoming a hot tea drinker LOL.
I am having full abdominal done at the end of January and am researching what to expect. I've been working my way through your videos. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us.
Had my abdominal hysterectomy 25 years ago. Hang on honey...Don't rush things. Everything has to re-position itself in there, but it will. Walk when you can. Nurture yourself.
My name is Tonya, not Roderick,LOl. I had a hysterectomy on I/27/2016 on the day I left the hospital ,the staff had to make my bowels move, 2 weeks after I had to go back to the ER to have them make my bowels move again with a lemon magnesium citrate, stool softner, Doculace, Miralax and a fleet enema. I did go ;however, it was in a liquid form. It has been a month now and I can not go at all. No matter what I take. I have been given a sample 300.00 bottle of Linzess. I could feel the breakdown but no results to see. I am in pain, back hurts, palpations, nerve disorder, anxiety this is all because my bowels will not move. Oh, and salvia is so thick , it feels like a ball coming up my throat. I am in severe pain. Make sure you are told the side effects and do the breathing machine as this lady stated, it is soooooo important. Noone told me anything to do for myself. They would come to make sure I was breathing, vitals and they were out.
+roderick baker; Tonya how are you doing now? It seems like so much stress to the body. I go for mine April 2nd, 2018 and I am very scared. I have a large fibroid in my uterous that is causing so many everyday problems. I really hope this, my hysterectomy, helps. I hope all is well for you.
So sorry to hear you're having a bad day. I must say you look pretty sick today. Thanks for your honesty. I had some bad constipation in Germany and it was NOT fun. At least you've got the internet and RUclips to keep you occupied.
After my Laparoscopic total hysterectomy I had trouble holding my urine so I had worn a pull up diaper, kidneys are doing better now, I do have stage 4 endometrial cancer uterine cancer, got to have chemo and radiation treatment. But i do not want the red Devil chemo medicine no way, other chemo medicine yes but got to be safe.
Do you have someone to help out? Also having good food, and some one to chat with. I am 5 plus, yes on stool softeners, (herbal). won't give you diarrha', walking really helps. Gas - X really helps. Do you get sweats? I get them associated with any stress. Mac n cheese? A good cry is healthy.
@@jesuschristislordofmeandmy5122 the day of my surgery the found a tumor in my esophagus that went all the way behind my heart. They had to cancel my hysterectomy and I had immediate open heart surgery... here we are two years later.... and my tumor is back... I go for testing next week.
Wow, thanks for this. I am day 5 post op today. Feeling my overdoing it on day 3. Everything you're saying is so true. from emotions (really miss my gram at a time like this too)...to constipation. Mentally I feel good, body wise I feel better but I'm still having back pain and vaginal pain. How often did you use your meds? Not sure when to just suck it up or to go ahead and take the heavy meds. Thank you~
Thank you Lilly! Hope you are feeling better. I had to go longer than normal on my meds because of the damage during surgery, the wound problems I had and the full abdominal. however, I was totally off all meds after I think 6 weeks and for the first time since I was maybe 16 I am not on any perscription medication. Hope you are seeing improvement! Thanks again for watching.
Am so sorry i keep pressing the wrong button but anyway it is November now n I hope n pray that ur feeling better. Am having mines done next wk n hopfully i get to keep my ovaries
What is the breathing machine for? I've never had a hysterectomy but i have had surgery and wasn't ever on oxygen, does it have to do with the type of surgery?
Id really like to speak you about this that you went through. I have to have surgery myself, and im young. Idk how I send a msg but I would love to chat. Can u get a hold of me asap? Thank you
Umi- MA 'AT thank you for reaching out. I am actually doing really well and the hysterectomy was one of the best things I have done for myself. I have very little pain now and I am glad I had the surgery. Good luck to you and I know you will feel so much better very soon!
D Who? Are you a woman? There's a lot of diseases like fibroids and endometriosis that makes a woman's reproductive health very painful and distressing. Some can not work because of it. It's about doing what's best for your health and comfort. It's not all about just keeping your uterus and ovaries in you because society expects you to get pregnant some day. You can not keep diseased organs inside you that's causing pain and difficulty. The human population is hardly lacking. There's billions of us. If you had a diseased kidney you'd get it taken out. Same goes for a diseased uterus.
D Who? I agree. Had a large cyst. They kept the fear of cancer to get me to agree to a hysterectomy. CA-125 gave a false positive raised level(found out afterwards)...as it can often do but because I was over 60 they kept insisting I needed a full hysterectomy. It's been almost a year, have cried every day. Changes your sex life, mine to zero. No uterine organisms, was the best part. I've been traumatized, been to therapy twice. I had NO pain or symptoms, cyst found from X-ray for hernia. I do NOT believe I was at high risk for cancer so going through all this and giving up my sex is not acceptable.
ScrappyDoo Gal 💯 true! Just because we are women we have a choice to have kids or not. At the end of the day we are raising them not some random person in society making stupid comments

4 to 5 days post anaesthetic it is not unusual to be tearful/emotional. I got pneumonia post op so keep working on the breathing. Love you. xox
Really?? I'm 5 days post OP and I've been an emotional rollercoaster all day!

8 days away from a full hysterectomy and I’m scared out of my mind!
How did your hysterectomy turn out?

A good dr shouldn't remove your ovaries or uterus unless cancerous
