  • We’ll dress up spring container gardens by creating two colorful beaded garden stakes. Add these stakes to your container gardens, fairy gardens, or use them in your house plants.
    Items Needed:
18” piece or longer of 16 or 20-gauge wire
Glass beads - various shapes and sizes
    Round nose jewelry pliers
    Wire cutter
    Round pen or pencil
    • If you are using these in an outdoor container, use a 16-gauge wire, it is thicker and will stand up better to being outdoors. For indoor house plants a 20-gauge wire is fine.
    • Choose about 8-10 decorative beads, depending on the size of your beads. A total bead length of 4-1/2” - 5” (including spacer beads) is sufficient for a bead stake. Too many beads will make the stake top heavy.
    • When choosing beads, have a piece of the wire handy to make sure the wire will fit through the hole in the bead.

You are an excellent teacher! Such lovely stakes. Do you think that 14 gauge wire would be too heavy for indoor plant stakes?

Depends on if the wire will fit through the beads. I think it will work, but it might be harder to bend.

Love this video, it's a great idea! I looked in the comments to see if I could find anything about how long the wire is that you start the project with, but I didn't find anything. I can just guess but if you have a standard length you use I would like to know. Thanks for the great idea!!!

I just can't seem to find the wire- specifically that blue wire. I'll have to start searching Amazon.
