No consequences for work ethic, inconsistencies, favoritism and inefficiency.

Happened to me before.., complained to my manager about a slacker coworker and she became defensive by telling me that she(manager) knows everything and that I should mind my own business. Lesson learned!

Yeah, don't talk bad about your coworkers even if they're shit. Not worth it and it looks bad on you.

I have gone numerous times to my boss about a coworker who just decided she wasn’t gonna do her part for a month. Well that caused several employees to get paid incorrectly. So guess who it fell back on? Of course me! My boss defended the slacker. I’ve got my letter of resignation ready for tomorrow, I’m done. Not worth it. And it’s obvious they don’t value my work ethic after being there 15 yrs. and I can honestly count with one hand how many Times I’ve been late. The slacker has been written up several times. It’s just time for me to move on. It’s become so toxic all the way around.

this is almost what I needed to hear but it seems to be an issue with most places in my immediate region. The bosses are blatantly ignoring the shortcomings of others but when I make a small mistake I get raked over the coals to the point where my livelihood is being deliberately messed with just so they can play favorites and ignore labor laws at the same time.

Over time, leaders get employees who have been w/ the company awhile and “need” those people. So the leader stops putting their foot down. Employee can do dumb shit (slackers, poor judgement) w/ no consequence. Wish I could tell them, choose your “leaders” wisely.

This is usually when the manager is lazy and incompetent. They believe in and retain poor performers.

Most managers are not leaders-two different definitions. True leadership is exceedingly rare.

I am a manager who has no control! My owner treats certain people that do nothing with more respect then the rest. I cant manage the rest that see this favoritism and get the respect and diligence! Ugh

This very question needs to be re-evaluate it and re-looked at especially with the brand new statistics and 44% of CEOs believe that over I think 80 or 90% of Americans are under educated knowing that now re-answer the question

Better yet! Feel free to take their money. I work for a company that has become a national meme of incompetence. My work is always solid, but much of the work makes the national meme really stick out to me. I redo all of the work that I see, but have great job security.
Take their money because you will be indispensable to them and can get away with a lot more.

Hi Ken. I need your help.
What you are about to read is not in my head nor is it a movie. It's a new reality for me at the job. There's something strange going on at the site in reference to me as an employee. Beyond the shadow of doubt, I know that someone has been going around defaming my good name and character in the building. As you know, this act is against the law. This is called defamation of character. Am I right?
Why do I say this? Many of the people who have been friendly to me for more than two years have suddenly stopped communicating, especially when I am posted in the lobby. This new attitude towards me started about 5 weeks ago. I firmly believe that many of the employees from various departments are trying to make me feel unwanted hoping that I would leave the site.
I spoke to several of my coworkers about what is happening to me. They told me to simply ignore the silent treatment, do my job and go home. Of course, this is easier said than done. There is a group effort to make me feel unwanted and uncomfortable.
If I did something wrong or offended anyone, I would like to know exactly what I did that would compel a group of employees who have been saying hello to me for more than two years to suddenly stop all communications. By the way, this is only happening to me and not my coworkers. The silent treatment is only directed to me when posted in the lobby.
I don't know who started the rumor, why the rumor was started and what exactly was spread about me. The rumor has ruined my good name and character not only in the lobby but on different floors and into several departments.
If one or two employees decided that they no longer wanted to talk to me, I would not bother to post my story here. However, the number of people who continue to give me the silent treatment grows on a daily basis.
Everyday, without exaggeration, a new employee is added to the DON'T TALK TO ME list, if you know what I mean. It is hard to work and be ignored. I make a decent salary and so walking away from the job is not a good idea.
    Questions:
    1. What is the best way to handle the silent treatment at the job?
    2. What would you do in my situation?
    3. What is the main reason for giving an employee the silent treatment?
    Thank you.

Saved a company from bankruptcy with my 1 month advance of poor cashflows. I instilled an action plan, secured credit for the company and provided a fix for the systemic problem as well as identifying errors made by the accountant.
2 weeks later I got an angry call from the Director of Finance (the one who made all the cashflow failures) asking me what I'm doing and why they pay me £X per hour. As if he wasn't the one who appointed me to fix the problem and I didn't fix it. He then proceeded to try to take credit for the policies I put in place AND for secuyring the funding because he was the director that signed the paperwork I negotiated for us.
I'm the lowest paid manager, and I get an angry called to justify why I'm paid so much 2 weeks after saving the company.
Yeah. I'm looking for other jobs right now.
