      Mine is the same way. She is a two faced snatch. She plays both sides of the fence. She hates my guts because I'm the only one who calls her out on her shitty behavior. She can't fire me because our GM knows I'm valuable. I know she's trying to run my out because she does petty shit to try and get under my skin but it doesn't work and that makes her even more angry. I'm a leader. I treat my coworkers with respect. I always tell them they are valuable and I always thank them for their help at the end of our shift. That's something she never does. My coworkers have more respect for than they do for her.

    • @briannerk3373
      @briannerk3373 Год назад +28

      Because people who abuse power are petty, and non-petty people have better, more meaningful things to do than seek out management positions. Also, being a manager is a skill that takes confidence to do well, and many people who get into management positions over time externalize their insecurity into abusive behavior towards employees. And yeah, you do get the occasional psychopath... but most of the time abusive bosses are just pitiful people who have lost faith in themselves and have given up.

    I can relate ..My boss suffered a serious health issue and his son took over the business.. I had worked for the company longer than the son and knew more about the business than he did...he took my job away and wouldn't let me have verbal or telephone contact with customers....I watched the business go from successful to barely surviving ..I attempted to tell the owners wife what was happening to no avail..
    when he began blaming me for mistakes he'd made and authorized..I quit..I had 30 years with the company.. the owners claimed not to know what was happening...I liked the job and customers but could not stomach the son..since I quit the son has run the business into the ground. he's run off most all the customers and lost a huge account I got for him...he hasn't been able to keep any employee they hired to replace me..I should have quit sooner..but I don't regret quitting..

The son then becomes a father himself and that son is a wastrel, used to getting things the easy way. The grandson then drives the business into the ground. I've seen it happen.

She told me that I will be getting an attendence point even though she knows I have a history of panic attacks (we have had the same run ins before. With the yelling and rudeness)

    She'll say " no one has ever made this mistake before" implying that im the only idiot in the office.
    She gives me so much work ( admin and clinical) even though im only suppose to do admin aka paperwork/ insurance filings ect. Then will point out if i miss one SMALL thing even though she has overloaded my workload.
    I didnt get to say goodbye to my grandpa, because my boss made we work the next day so i couldnt drive down to where he lives (12 hr drive)when he was about to die.
    I had to go to the hospital ( as i had a cut in my eye) and she kept me at work for 2 hours, then i had to work a full shift the next day.
    She has gotten worse now where she will email me and the owner of the company and his wife , if i miss one SMALL thing. Meanwhile im showing up to work, barely take sick days, and training new employees... Its horrible, i hope to get out of this soon, its been 7 years of abuse from her.

    I have a weird trait to add. An insecure boss can resent relationships among subordinates. They feel threatened. They think you are talking about them. They are jealous and feel left out. Instead of being happy that people are bonding in trust and goodwill, they resent the connections. While they don’t like overt fighting or undermining among subordinates they like it better if you have polite vacuous relationships but not bond, because then you don’t run to the boss to rat out or gossip about your coworkers. Divide and conquer. Keep people in silos. It’s a way of controlling everyone. I had one boss scold a colleague because she told a co worker to tell the boss that her mother passed. The boss chewed her out while she was grieving for not telling the boss herself.

    My boss called me out for asking for a one day extension on a big project. She made a big deal about how that would throw off her work schedule because she planned to review it over the weekend. So I got it done. Now she is a week overdue and not keeping on the agreed upon project timeline. That affects the entire process. Now I am anxious again. I took one day off and she kept talking about me “being on vacation”. wtf? Meanwhile, she still hasn’t delivered her end. Then she sent me an email immediately after I got back from my one day out of office stating that I still haven’t finished an online training module….thats not due for another two weeks!!

They took none of my questions seriously and dismissed them with “we’ll let you know” and then change constantly the game plan or leave out small but important details. It’s so frustrating cause these bosses feel like they can own your schedule but not theirs.

    This might not help an employee, but this is for insecure or dominant bosses...Every time you're speaking down to an employee...You are also speaking directly to yourself. That message goes right back into your own nervous system. Also, this only keeps both you and them insecure, as this energy is multiplied between you. This is science. Funny how there were certain principles designed to keep us both on the right track, huh? What's good for you is good for them. I guess figuring out how to be a good manager wasn't so hard after all. Pretend you're talking to yourself...Because you are:) Hope that was helpful.❤😊

    My boss fits almost every single one of these points perfectly. He's always putting himself on a pedestal, saying we'll never be as good as him, that we're idiots, braindead losers, or worse. He also spreads rumors trying to pit us against one another, who knows why. He complains when we don't ask him questions but when he do, he lashes out saying we can't do anything without him and that we're to dumb. He's even gone physical more than a few times. He's slapped me on the back of the head more than a few times before I even do anything, and even though I've complained and stopped him from doing so, he just doesn't care, he keeps saying that he needs to have everyone under control. We don't even have contracts, one of my coworkers has gotten hurt more than once and my boss just says we're too stupid to do anything right. We have no course of protection, he intimidates us, badmouths us in front of customers, he even complains when he use our lunchtime to actually have lunch, saying we're wasting his prescious time by being lazy. It's an absolute nightmare. The only reason everyone in my office, myself included, hasn't just ditched him is because here in my hometown it's incredibly difficult to find an actual job and he knows it. People constantly apply there cause they don't really have a choice, even some of them already know that they're in for. He's even a pain outside of work, most of the people who know him openly say he's an absolute asshole.

    I'm actually filing a lawsuit for sexually assault and degrading women working without a break and a boss that emotionally abuses knowing u have mental or physically illness. I have so many witnesses and text messages. Do not work for these kind of people. Yes ur boss is ur boss but they have no right to create a toxic environment. He would grab ur keys as a manager and would leave u without pay to take a week off. I was able to catch up but it was absolutely horrific I actually reported to my lawyer long before I actually had a real strong case with witnesses . But was in need to pay my bills. My last straw was when he didn't let me take a break said to take 5 minutes then told me your never goin to be anything or move up the list when on I said I'm goin to the dressing room so I can switch up my position it was then when he came.after me. I went home cried. I gave him the keys to the store working there since 2017. There are.better jobs out there !! It affected my mental health. Don't be a victim of abuse esp at work

Instead of commenting on how fast I was going he instead decided to "coach me" because I assembled 6 parts out of 1120 that failed a leak test. Get real! He then said my speed was good but nowhere as fast as Joe Shmo. Another time I hit my numbers on a 2 person machine. I made sure he knew it. Instead of good job he said he was going to make me switch spots the next time. And I hate to say it but I think he treats me differently because Im white. Do I have a right to report my potentially toxic boss for this? She was upset I had signed up for a one-person shift. One of our student leader's responsibilities is organizing who works which shifts on the schedule, and my boss scolded him for not noticing I had signed up to go solo. When she asked him if she thought I could do the shift, I answered for him with a firm "yes," because I felt belittled by her. She said she didn't think so, was all "I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that, I don't know how much clearer I can get for you to listen" (something like, that, so I'm not perfectly quoting her), and she told me I need someone there to give me instructions and guide me. That was very insensitive and harsh, and I think that if she said that to a person with a learning disability, they would be hurt and deem her a bigot. I should've told her that, to make a point to her about tact. Can I report her for verbal abuse?
