Freddie was really quite shy. But get him on that stage and he turned into the most flamboyant soul. He is so so missed. 😢❤💔🎼
That is absolutely correct. From the old videos and behind-the-scenes stuff that I've seen, he was a completely different person off the stage than on it, which is really fascinating. On stage, he ruled the world. Off the stage, at least when he was on video, he was so much more quiet and reserved.
That aids will kill you for real. Wrap it up my brothers and sisters
@@richardbertrand3217 you know nothing about him?
Shy? He died of AIDS which he got from sex with random men in Bathhouses . 70s and 80s that was the gay communities lifestyle for the most part
Michael Jackson & Prince were also shy offstage.
What can I say, it's Queen! One of the greatest bands of all time!
Right on brother!
HELL YEAH!!!!!
🤘
And Queen was banned in US for the videoclip "I want to break free" because reactionary people in that time (1984), after this year they never did a hit in US again, not even concerts, another issue was about Freddie to be gay, in that time this is not so much "acceptable" in United States, even in England (they hide theses questions).
Definitely top one.
You know what always got me about Queen. The fact that 4 dudes could sing as powerful as entire choir evolve males. It's the harmony. We're beyond incredible
John hardly if ever sang
@@ursus3295 I have seen Queen Live, during the Paul Rogers era, and Deacon sings and handles background vocals well. Even where his vocal harmonies are isolated. The part of him not singing is a myth. What John was talking about is during TV slots and Video shoots, the microphones are turned off (not really even turned on).
@@ursus3295 so, I must be thinking of when I saw them in '86 in Oakland. John Deacon was singing at that show also.
@@ursus3295 Queen was one of My uncle's favorite bands. He took Me with him to see them several times. I took him to most of the KISS concerts I went to. I saw Paul Rogers with Bad Company several times also, including a show in Central California where he announced he would be joining QUEEN for a world tour.
@@ursus3295 Do yourself a favor. RUclips "John Deacon singing"... It's there. All eras. His vocals isolated from the rest as the harmonies of Queen demanded. Musicians in interviews are not pinnacles of Honesty. They love to confuse the journalists and media. They enjoy a little extra sensationalism. In regards to John Deacon, he has said that "he and the band didn't like lipsyncing on TV spots and Video shoots. So in protests he didn't puppet his vocals in those shoots and the microphones were turned off". It was a British humor, tongue in cheek way of saying F-you. So those comments were often taken out of context as saying "he didn't sing". He has clearly also stated he wrote and recorded several songs by himself from beginning to end with Brian adding lead guitar and Freddie adding Lead vocals. Each member of the band wrote and recorded that way. Some songs Deacon and May would debate that a song didn't need a guitar solo and they even recorded one of the debates. It was part of their humor they wanted to capture.
He was so ill when recording this but you can't tell at all by his voice! Great song! The new place is very echo-ey by the way!
I was thinking the same thing
I’m betting their furniture isn’t in the room yet. Since they just moved in, they probably just set up a little for us to be able to record.
There’s no rug or curtains in the room yet. You can tell by the sound. They will absorb the echo.
The mic may also be farther away than it used to be. I've already mentioned a few things that they need to do that should fix the sound.
That's why he had the beard to hide the sores on his face.
"HIGHLANDER" FOR FILM NIGHT
The Queen soundtrack really helped make this film so dramatic.
Another film that Queen did the soundtrack for was "Flash" as in Flash Gordon , which was a fun over the top movie therefore well suited to Queen.
Highlander was a great movie.
Gotta agree! Love the movie and the sound track! ❤❤
Highlander was great
Yes, Yes, Yes to both films for movie night!
And by both movies you mean Highlander and Highlander 3 right? Since Highlander 2 DOES NOT EXIST. EH you probably meant Flash Gordon. That one is good too.
This was Queen's last big hit single in '89 before Freddie Mercury's tragic passing just two years later. A legendary band with an immortal frontman.
Actually, Innuendo got to number one in early 1991 which beats this chart placing of no.3
Album opening guitar shred was featured constantly at the China Olympics volleyball events...
There is no such thing as a bad Queen song! I could and will listen to Queen every day for the rest of my life and never get bored! I thank my mom for introducing me to Queen as a little guy.
My mom introduced me to Queen as well she loves them!!
They did a song called Fat Bottomed Girls, but I've never listened to it. The title alone makes me want to throw up. I like a lot of their other songs, though...but I'm not a rabid Queen fan.
Some days, I queue up a playlist which is all Queen albums in order and just let it rip. Always a rocking day and makes work go by very quickly!
Try "Flash Gordon" not a fan of that whole album.
@@rarelycares8416 it only do I love that movie, but I absolutely LOVE the soundtrack! If I had a doorbell, I'd want the Flash Gordon theme from that movie to play when the doorbell was pushed!!!
One of my favourite Queen songs. That guitar solo is insane!
Gimme gimme gimme fried chicken
This is a rarity in that it's a "hard rock" Queen song that isn't part of a soundtrack. If you want to rock out again with Freddie and the boys, you want to check out "One Vision" (from Iron Eagle), "Flash" (from Flash Gordon), and "Princes of the Universe" (from Highlander).
Queen ROCK like this? Oh let me tell you! Did you guys know that their song Stone Cold Crazy is described as “speed/thrash metal before the term was invented”. Highly recommend to listen to Queens heavy pieces to feel the incredible range of their legacy. Thank you, love your reactions!
How hard and heavy is Stone Cold Crazy? Metallica covered it.
Or "Brighton Rock"!
Most versatile band ever
Queen was at their absolute best when they rocked it hard and heavy.
Queen definitely delivered on this album " Breakthrough" is a Queen classic and the edgy and seriously underrated " Scandal" from the same album is so worth a visit
"The Miracle" was a totally underappreciated album! Loved "The Invisible Man" & "Rain Must Fall"
@@alleykeosheyan4779 Yes, there are many great songs from this album, but I think it was odd to open with the quite trying “Party”. I also recommend the title track and especially the heavy final “Was It All Worth It”.
Brian May is one badass guitarist. His dad & he built his guitar from scratch.
Yeah and he uses a six pence coin instead of a guitar pick, no one else sounds like him, a singular talent.
He’s also an Astro physicist, I believe. No other guitar sounds like that one.
And uses coins for guitar picks..
@@lizoneal2518, yep. PhD.
Dr. Brian May indeed!
Pick any performance from the 1986 concert at Wembley stadium and you'll see how Queen and Freddie affected fans with their music...one of the greatest live shows ever!
Freddie's voice was better in Budapest though...
In my opinion Queen’s later albums contain some of their most thoughtful songs due to the circumstances around which they were written and produced.
Freddie WAS, IS AND EVER WILL BE THE GOAT.... FULLSTOP! There will never be a better Singer in Rockmusic again... miss him. 😢
My favourite Queen song of all-time! 😎🔥🤘🎸
My #3 behind '39 and Somebody to Love.
@@lusmas99 What is '39? 😎🔥🤘🎸
Finally somebody agrees with me i've been asking reaction people to react to this song for like four years And finally somebody did
@@williamreiser3118Badass Kickass Rocker! 😎🔥🤘🎸
@@lusmas99 '39 is one of my favorites too!
I love ur guys’ reactions! I just can’t believe you haven’t learned Brian May’s name yet (He wrote the song). He’s been voted one of the best guitarists ever, and his voice isn’t too shabby either ;) Freddie is magnificent but definitely recognize everyone else in the band that sings and stuff too (Roger Taylor on drums and John Deacon on bass)
Agreed
Absolutely! LEARN THE OTHER GUYS' NAMES!
Great reaction to introduce the new studio. Congratulations on the move, it’s never an easy process but always worth it in the end. Please look at your microphone position, moving it closer will help with the echo effect in your bigger space. ✌️
Area rug will also help. I agree that the mic is too far away.
Mic position in the room could also be out of phase with the natural acoustics.
Definitely, there's a big echo. Jay will knock it out! 😊
Yes, there was a lot of echo, but, hey we understand, you've only just moved and moving is always stressful (especially with kids) and I'm sure you'll get it sorted out soon. Great reaction, as always 😊
@@howarddickson8727You beat me to it!! Good call!!!
Queen was my first concert when I was 15 in 1980. My older brother took me. Madison Square Garden in NYC. One of my best memories.😊❤️
I was there too!
there is no one like him today. We miss him so much. His music lives on.
Live Aid Concert by Queen! 😎🔥🤘🎸
This is later Queen shortly before Freddie Mercury died. But his energy here was just unmatched and both he and the whole band were energetic. Even John Deacon, who normally doesn't sing is doing backup vocals. This is one of my absolute favorites from them. Great reactions! You should do Headlong, Scandal, and the Invisible Man too
u can see why fans were confused seein videos around dis time but no Queen shows bein played Freddie did truly go all out durin tha lata yrs
John Deacon does not do background vocals on this song, nor does he on any Queen song. On the videos, it shows him singing, and he has done some background vocals on stage. Otherwise, he has been vocally silent on all Queen recordings.
Those suggestions are my favourites too ...
this being late Queen is what makes this song so bittersweet for me. he might have known his HIV status at this point, i can't recall, but just knowing from this vantage point that his time was so short is hard.
@@XxThePhantomFreezexX yeah Freddie was too ill to sing after the 1986 tour they did. That's why anything after that time unless it was an official music video from Queen was a compilation especially later songs.
John on bass, Brian on guitar and Roger on drums are iconic....combined with Freddie and it's magic. [*Highly recommend the song Brian wrote, The Show Must Go On.]
Would love to see your reactions over on your movie channel to the award winning Bohemian Rhapsody film!

Rest in Peace Freddie, we miss you! 💔
Don't forget that magnificent bassist
@@theresarandall7448 Oh thank you so much, that's my bad. Edited to the comment to include him, how could I forget John 🤦🏽♀️. 🤣
They already reviewed The Show Must Go On, about 4 months ago.
@@AZambri1 Wowzer I had the Mondays of all Mondays! I literally already watched that reaction back then but completely forgot. 🤦🏽♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thank you!
1. Moving sucks, it is a PIA, glad you are done!
2. I love this song, so glad you were able to react to it!!!
3. Time to replace your Freddie Mercury picture with a bigger one or even better, a big picture of all of Queen!)
Every member of Queen pulled their weight. They all wrote songs and helped them come alive together. Freddy definitely had a stage presence that stood out. Brian, Roger and John took the group to a higher level. I've been following Brian May's career and history for years. He's quite an impressive person. Favorite Band of All Time!!! 😍
Princes Of The Universe should be your next Queen song, I really think you’ll love it
Agree 👑🔥
OG Subscriber here, If you want Queen at its Rockin best....Hardest song is Hammer to Fall!!! You make me smile everyday. when I need it the most. You both have really helped take me out of a dark place. Love you both
Some days (weeks, months...) are extra tough aren't they? I'm really glad you're doing better.
Jay and Amber have helped me too. The song you suggested is used in the movie Highlander.
Killer guitar solo! 😎🔥🤘🎸
Yeah, it's up there with the Invisible Man one.
The album version has an extended guitar solo
@@paulhilling6208 Extended Brian May guitar solo. Who wouldn't want that?
In my never so humble opinion, Queen are one of the greatest bands ever!! Freddie was so far beyond any other vocalist and front man with his stage presence, there will never be another like him !!!!! If there is truly an angelic choir in heaven, Freddie is leading and showing them how it's done !!
I'd forgotten how brilliant this song is.i love the harmonies, the music speeding up, guitar solo strong drums.
At the beginning and at the end Brian May leaves me speechless, he is an excellent guitarist and musician, applause 👏
It's wonderful to hear him play along with the other guys, unbelievable, I love them all ❤😢
This was Queen letting everyone know that they could still rock! If you want some more rocking Queen, you should check out Tie Your Mother Down.
Queen - Princes Of The Universe!
You really need to listen to "Dead On Time" and "Stone Cold Crazy". Both are really good rockin' songs from Queen. Love your channel and really like your new set-up. Hammer to Fall, Tie Your Mother Down and Now I'm Here are some others.
Yes. And ”Great King Rat” from their first album.
For another iconic live Queen performance please look for "White Queen" at the Odeon Hammersmith 1975!
Yep, that's definitely something to see!
YES QUEEN!!!! 🙌 I feel like this song has been used in so many commercials!
Nice new digs! Little bit of an echo effect, but it’s all good and we got some classic Queen!!!
agree. The music sounds good, I guess bc plugged right into the computer/sound equalizer, but their voices have the echo.
Banger! 😎🔥🤘🎸
Now you just gotta fix the echo! 🤣
I love that you love this! I've been into Queen for 47 years and it fills my heart to see your appreciation for this amazing band.
Early queen meaning the first 3 albums 'queen 1-2-sheer heart attack' are by far my favourite. Most people don't ever mention this side of queen because it wasn't commercial. This was when they were hard rock.
Wonderful to see you doing more of Queen's greatest hits. You still have so many more of their bangers to do. "Headlong" is another Queen hard rock song that you may enjoy.
It’s simply impossible not to be a fan of queen when you listen to their music. My biggest regret was not seizing an opportunity to see Queen live. I thought they would always be here.
Check out Seven Seas of Rhye!
You’ve picked a great one today, nice studio🔥
One of their most rockin tunes! Song is an anthem! Freddie’s voice was ridiculous!
"ONE VISION "Extended Version 1985..Blow you Away
This song is definitely in my top 3 all-time Queen favourites. I would even say it is in my top 20 favourite songs of all time.
This is such a powerful rock anthem.
My only disappointment was that it was never performed live by Freddie due to his deteriorating health and that he passed away soon afterwards.
They were such an iconic band and each band member was an absolute master of their own instrument including Freddie's voice and legendary stage presence. Love your appreciation for Queen and the your reaction to the late, great, Freddie. Incidentally guys, your new studio sounds a little 'echoey' like your sitting in a near empty room...? 🙋♂🙋♂
Area rugs, pillows, cloth art on the walls all can help limit the echo in the studio. Right now, with all the hard walls and floor the sound is bouncing all over, causing quite a bit of echo. Easily fixed. Great reaction. Gotta love some Queen.
You can tell from his appearance that he was already sick... But he still sounded great.
The Miracle was such an awesome album! It was Queen’s second to last one and the last one to have the band members’ pictures on the cover. You guys need to check out “The Invisible Man” and “Breakthru” from it.
And the title track from the album The Miracle, not as rocking but still an amazing song.
New studio looks good, just need to add some stuff to limit the echo. And a Queen song? Thumbs up before even watching. Oh and you need to react to the movie Highlander, Queen did the entire soundtrack!
Do you have curtains on the windows? That kills the echo in a room.
When I heard this from my kids in the back seat, I want it now....
I would play The Stones, " You can't always get what you want....."
And to think that you've barely scratched the surface! Try "White Queen" live at Hammersmith Farm. It will blow your mind!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Congratulations on your move. They are never easy but y'all didn’t skip a beat and continued providing great content! ❤ Great song to break in your fresh new studio!🎉
Each of these men could have been very successful musicians on their own but together they are magic 🔥🔥🤘
That's what happens when you take 4 college educated musicians (Freddie design & graphic, he designed the Queen logo; Roger biology and was in dental school which is where Smile the band that became Queen got its name, John the electrical engineer who designed the Deacy amp which I hear Brian still uses today and Brian the PhD astrophysicist) who are each individually in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Add 3 lead singers, one of which is Freddie Mercury but Brian and Roger sang lead on occasion (my favorites being " '39 " Brian singing lead and Roger on "Tenament Funster") and you get the magic and beauty that is Queen.
No one does a Rock Anthem like QUEEN. Brian May killing it on lead guitar as usual
An excellent Queen rocker is "Hammer to Fall". You like rock? You get it with that song!
That is an awesome song always. Hammer To Fall is another solid rock song. Great reaction!!!
Agreed. Hammer To Fall is fantastic.
@@jackdubz4247 And another great Brian May composition!
Jay & Amber, you'll love their "You’re My Best Friend" !! (for your 18th Queen song, including the one with David Bowie!!)
Yes on the "You're My Best Friend"
Under Pressure is with Bowie.
They haven't reacted to 19 Queen songs, have they?
@@ScottieContact yup, today is number 19.
@@surlechapeau No way. I look on their channel and they have a Queen playlist with only 5 songs!!! I need to do some searching. Queen are the best.
I was about 12 when this song came out and the sad part is he is sick from Aids, I miss Freddie so much. I still cry to do this day listening to Freddie's amazing voice and I'm 46. All my kids love Queen and Freddie
Probably one of the most powerful somgs ever recorded...
Excellent choice guys and love the new setting, though a little bit of echoes in the background, I'm sure you will figure it out. Queen is always a worthy subject to listen to, I want to hilight some of their early hard rocking work which is not only awesome but hardly gets reacted to. Try official videos for Liar from the 1st album, Ogre Battle from the 2nd and Brighton Rock from the 3rd. It is mind boggling how good they were right from the start, their debut album is magnificent Queen rules Big-Time! Enjoy. 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎸🎶
This is one of my favorite Queen songs!! Freddie blows this one away and Brian May?? Insane guitars here!! The Show Must Go On.....if you haven't already...should be next on your list with this iconic band. 🤘
Congrats on the new place!
Also look up who wants to live forever, another bites the dust, show must go on. Freddie mercury was an amazing singer.
Queen - princess of the universe (official video) From the movie soundtrack (Highlander) Queen did 9 songs for this movie. 1 day you get a chance to React to this Colt classic in the movie Sean Connery, Christopher Lambert, Clancy Brown.
This is ARENA ROCK!!
I love this song, always have, absolutely perfect. Was good to have Brian sing a part, reminds me of Who Wants To Live Forever where he got a whole verse. If you do that song, please do the long version, the music video cuts off the ending.
Thoughts on the new studio : It looks great, but your acoustics are different, you personal audio sounds like you're in an auditorium, I think there are things you can do to combat that, best of luck, audio is always tricky.
Hammer To Fall and much of the "Highlander" soundtrack had some Rockers like "Just Gimme the Prize". But it also had "Who Wants to Live Forever?" which was about the band coming to terms with Freddy's failing health.
Fantastic song, great reaction guys. Brian wrote this for his wife Anita Dobson as she wanted it all and wanted it now.
Loving reviews of Queen & Freddie ❤. You made this old gal happy today.
Great reaction and choice of song! I also like the hard rock side of Queen. Metallica covered one of Queen's songs "Stone Cold Crazy", one of the first metal songs ever made. "Sheer Heart Attack" is another hard rockin' Queen song. They even recorded a fast version of "We Will Rock You" that I prefer over the original.
I'm going to join the chorus of needing to do their Live Aid performance. But until then, try Hammer to Fall if you want to rock! It's hard to do a top list of Queen songs, since there's so many great ones, but Hammer is in my top 5.
Thanks for playing this song you guys can't go wrong playing a Queen song they have so many great songs and this is one of them
The live "Save Me" is legendary. ...In fact, these guys NEED to watch more live Queen.
I remember vividly when this song came out in 1989. I was in college and heard it everywhere. We had no clue that two years later, Freddie would be gone.
Though we didn't know at the time this was released, you can now see with this performance the fact that Freddie was already unwell. The voice was still as strong, but the physical performance was quite understated for Freddie. For much of the time he was in one spot as, and the stubbled beard to covering the scars from lesions on his face due to the disease (coupled with the use of black & white filming).
I really think princess of the universe will be one of your favorite queen song after you hear it
Studio looks great!! I love this song. Written by Brian, it was recorded when Freddie was already very sick but he still absolutely nails it. What a Pro and inspiration Freddie was. Thanks for your reaction.
I love it! And I love watching your guy's reaction! This is hands-down the greatest band that has ever existed since the Beatles!
Nobody can beat Freddie"s voice he is a legend, but this song shows the skill of all the band members, Brian May is one of the best guitar players, and Roger Taylor on drums is brilliant, and then you have John Deacon on base guitar which is always the underlying stable sound of the band 😍
This stage in his career he was really battling his disease he fought through all the painting and made some incredible music at the end
No band like Queen and no frontman like Freddie!!❤
And never will be.
All four write, all four sing. And all four kick ass. RIP, Freddie.
@@Jessica_Roth "All four sing" is a stretch. Deacon did not sing well, and generally lip synched in the shots of all four singing.
I love this song, its so awesome!
I love that line..”here’s to the future and the dreams of youth”!
Thankyou darlings! More Queen please ❤
Y’all need to react to the full Live Aid performance of Queen! Y’all will be blown away! Also watch the movie “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
This!
Yes,I've said this before. Live Radio GaGa,alone will blow them away. He has the crowd in his hands and 75,0000 clapoingbinunison...wow
I was at a record show and I just picked this 45 up today wow this is a good song by Queen❤❤
A rockin Queen song...."It's Late"
Guitar-heavy rocker from the band's late period. Despite Freddie already being ill and visibly thinner, his voice and his stage presence were undiminished.
Showed they could still rock, and like most Queen songs, multiple changes in the song - always different, unexpected - never boring.
Nice studio and nice song to start with. There does seem to be a little bit of echo in the new studio though.
Love it, one of my favorite Queen hits! Can I suggest a deeper dive into their catalogue, maybe not so much the known hits? The Prophet's Song, In the Lap of the Gods, '39 - all great. And also the heartbreaking (because it was Freddie's last recording) Mother Love. Thanks for reacting to Queen.
I mentioned the phrophet song a year ago. Hasn't showed up yet.
i have been a queen fan since 1976 i know every song word for word i have listened to probably every version of each song and for me there is no Greater band or frontman in history. still listening to queen in 2023....
Great song to kick it off in your new place!! Love the "give the people what they want" sign.
Your voice or audio is faint and echoing all over that room
The acoustics in your room are giving a major echo. Queen is still one of my favorite bands, next to Country lol
Queen only performed this song once, during the Freddie Mercury tribute concert, and they had Roger Daltrey of The Who on vocals. Who, no matter how you slice it, is the right guy for this song.
Daltrey put all the rage he could muster (and that's a hell of a lot) into that performance. Afterwards, Brian May said that he wasn't sure how this song would work live, but as soon as that vocal intro started, everybody in the audience sang along. Freddie would have been proud.
Finally somebody reacted to my favorite song by them
Your going have to figure out how to get rid of echo, sounds like you're in a big cavernous room.
The guitar player's name is Brian May & yes he is without a doubt one of the greatest to ever play. And what else is there to say about Freddie Mercury, the man is a legend & it is well deserved. May he RIP.
Not to mention that Brian May's guitar, the "Red Special" was built by Brian and his father and is one of a kind.
@Stevo Red1
Yes, you are correct. It's pretty amazing. The man's a genius, like literally. What other rock legend can say they actually have a PHD.
I love the line, "Just give me what I know is mine"
This has always been my favorite Queen song. Great message and great ROCK
