Faro is a vibrant community that has seen an increase in population despite the economic hardships it has faced. The town has recently acquired the old mining housing complexes and they are available for purchase. Faro is a wonderful town worth visiting and a great place to move to for young families looking to have a Yukon adventure.

I lived here, when i was in gr.3 and Faro was small but it had Gymnastics ,a theatre and where we lived up the hill from the school ,every house had ppl living in them. Faro is a good memory for me. Back in late 80s.

      Hey Mandy,
Upper bench is still full of people and lower bench is nearly full with people now too. The theatre has been closed for a long time as well as the businesses in the solar complex. There’s still a hotel, bank, gas station and grocery store, as well as the school, rec centre, ice rink, etc. There’s still around 450 people living in faro with lots of new families these days. Many of the abandoned buildings have been purchased and renovated. Thanks for watching!

In 2004 I capsized with my canoe on the Pelly River and went along the shore back to Faro. I did not forget this beautiful little town.
Next year come back with a canoe. Please, open the Liquor store! ;-
It seems to me, Faro ist a good place to live. I hope young families move to Faro.

Though it hurts my heart to see my home somewhat broken down like this, it is also great to see and hear that it is being fought for! It is still a beautiful and wondrous place, and I wish my children could experience it like I did. (Faro will always be my home, even though its been over 25 years since I have been there) I wish I could make it up there this summer..

It still has that great community feel and given that the town has now acquired the former mine properties, a lot of new life will be breathed into the town. We will definitely be doing our best to make it up there this summer for the 50th anniversary.

I live in Faro, and this is not true this is false. This is a vibrant town and you didn't show any of the houses where people live you missed almost half the streets their are over 400 people here and it is steadily growing to this day. THE BURGERS ARE GREAT!!!

Frank de Jong I’m aware of how many people live there, frank. If you read my posted comment, you’ll see that I do in fact address faro as a vibrant, albeit small community. I love faro, have a large amount of family there and even decided to get married there. I wanted to focus on what the town USED to be. Thanks for watching.

Also, it’s worth saying that the quality of the restaurant food is completely dependent on who is working. A great little Faro quirk.
