I just got mine yesterday! It may not be the best or the best off road, but it is god damned comfortable to drive! Over the 200 or so miles I’ve driven it so far, highway and city, I’m getting about 17.1 mpg! Far better than expected. The overland build starts next week!
Ryan’s reviews are very thorough. If a person wants to know what a vehicle will do in possibly difficult situations vs. bare pavement, THIS channel is a GO-TO.
Nice truck! Very good for what you've shown us. The only issue with those large and heavy off-road trucks is snow. They tend to get stuck not because their 4WD system isn't good, but because of their weight.
I'm not sure it makes sense to have a traction system applying brakes and cutting power when the vehicle is fully locked up. If it is truly locked up, all the wheels are gonna spin at the same speed all the time.
Great looking truck! I think I prefer the GMC styling to the ZR2, although that price, wow trucks are expensive. Though, I did just see a review of a Toyota TRD Pro vs Ford Tremor, and this is only a couple k more than those and it seems like you get a lot more.
Wow, @ 20:45, night and day difference... thats crazy just from a 15 degree incline with some grass... Awesome review and show of capabilities!! (23:35)
How do i do what you do? i would love to have this job. Bit of a car/truck and car/truck with tech lover. Great reviews by the way 🤙👍. Very informative.
You where in 4X high on that last climb with both diffs locked weren't you? Shouldn't be any traction control interference in 4X low. On my ZR2 Colorado it shuts off everything in low range. But I can't lock both diffs in high range. So maybe a setting like hold down traction button to fully disable it? 2whd diff lock, T/C off and off road mode on the Colorado allows me to drift it on low traction surfaces. If big brother has the same ability, double the power then it would be very fun😬
another great review, worth my autolike for all the DST video! :) would have appreciated to see how the auto mode does in such a terrain. 21:40 sorry I have to put up Ryan at the stake ! :D (come on, the ZR2 is such a beauty)
Ryan, You are always TALKING about wearing a cowboy hat 2:14 for back seat testing but never actually WEARING one. Will you buy one when the SUBSCRIBER count reaches 300,000? 🤔
I have a 2019 Trail boss. The lease comes due next month. We’ve mostly enjoyed it. I was serious about replacing with a ZR2 until I learned more about the truck then was presented with a $1,000p/mo+ lease payment (no mark up). These refreshed trucks LOOK much better but imo they still aren’t all that fantastic. GM badly needs a HO turbo V6 to compete with Toyota and Ford. If I get another truck, it’ll be between the Ford, Ram and now the new Tundra. I’m going to go watch the Tundra video again. I had an 2007 TRD 5.7 Tundra that I loved for over 140,000mi. Love these tests!!
@@derrickp It's sad they didn't leave the 5.7 as an option. Pair it to the new 10 speed. It would've sold like hotcakes. The minute I found out they were shoving the Lexus LS turbo engine in there I thought "this won't end well!".
@@dmitryfarmer3662 The only reason i'm into the Ram is the air ride and coils. I've pretty much vowed to never buy a "Chrysler" product so i'd probably end up with a real nightmare.
@@JakeDrives1 I cant blame you on that one lol. I know the new Tundra has rear coils, and I think it may be available with airbags in the rear as well. I'm not entirely sure thought. Regardless, I am glad to see that you are aware of what garbage Chrysler is hahahaha
Truck is beautiful. But it should be for the price. I personally don’t like how gm and Chevy have such a low feeling seated position. As you mentioned, you can’t see what is going on with the front end. I personally like to see the hood.
You can definitely raise the powered seats high enough this isn't an issue. I'm not extraordinarily tall and can see the entire hood quite well, to include the front corners.
There is no way that the MSRP on this truck - incl destination - is $73,300. The build tool at GMC for this truck says it's $80,930, and I don't think the MSRP has ever been below $74,995. Good offroad content and I appreciate a challenge worth of the dual lockers.
@@dannysiordia4176 Not according to GMC's website when it's equipped with Red Tintcoat and Rock sliders. The vid said $73,300. That's inaccurate... by a lot.
The Denali here in CA is running about 90, these are right around 75-80 as you say. Im grabbing mine this weekend but have hesitations with so much tech and just needing a damn truck for construction work and daily driving. It’s like a luxury SUV lol
Essentially the difference is cosmetic, the GMC’s tend to have better styling in their grills and Headlamps design and that’s about the extent of the difference
It's great looking truck, it really is, but i wish they would choose more mature decisions, like less imposing without function... It has upscale interior, but why plain tablet info screen down low, why would vents need to be on top? It's like random organizing ... They could have mold screen in that bulge extension where vents are and wow that would look like designing instead copying Germans
the GMC Sierra AT4X 4WD + 3.0 in. Lift 6.2 Biturbo V8 4-Dr Crew Cab Light Pickup Truck (LHD) could do with a proper 3.0 in. suspension lift & 34.0 in. M/T radial tyres . . . the 6.2 V8 surely needs a turbo, recalibrated for that all important boost when you need it the most . . . especially when off road . . .
You know I'm glad people like to buy these fancy trucks with all these gadgets, but I have to laugh when I know and have done all of this offroading in a stock samurai on at tires.
These are mostly for people that want more comfortable, luxurious daily drivers with modern tech who sometimes like to do basic offroading and have it made easy.

70k dollars and 1 interior color. Black. Enjoy your excruciatingly hot interior for those who live in the south. Hard pass GM. Your lazy cost-cutting is obvious.
Tint your windows and use a sun visor in the windshield. It’s not that serious. I live in south Florida and the only reason a black interior bothers me is the fact that it’s dark as a pit. They need to offer a variety of colors at this price point. I like the standard AT4 better because it has the saddle colored accents in the seats.

These trucks are so over priced! GM’s trucks sales as of today are dying fast and they better lower prices by $15k to $20k or they are going to be visiting bankruptcy court! Ford and Ram are struggling to!

is there a way to keep the trail cam on once you go over certain speed?
Don’t know why manufacturers put vents above infotainment displays. You have to look down and off the road to see your map and everything else
So your hands don't freeze on the steering wheel because the vent is right behind the 1-3pm location. I much prefer the high vent layout.
@ yeah that maybe true, but if only there was another low cost highly effective way to warm your hands when your hands are on the steering wheel.
Great review man nice n detailed 👍 enjoyed this one again and again great test course!
