Been watching these recent top ten playlists, and enjoyed yours as well as the others. Your narration reminds me how much our “Top Tens” are really the soundtrack to our lives. Thanks for sharing!
Badfinger is such a great band and an even sadder story. 😢. Straight Up does it for me. Love your video. I’m also a huge Beach Boys fan. Keep bringing it good sir.
Listened to this today, the anniversary of Holly's passing. It was nice to hear you mention her. Holly and I lived with a "Kathy" in Michigan, so America meant a lot to us.
My list: Pink Floyd - Dark side of the moon Supertramp - Crime of the century Dire Straits - eponymus Steely Dan - Can´t buy a thrill The Beatles - Sgt Pepper´s lonely heart club band The Smiths - The Queen is dead The Waterboys - This is the Sea Pavlov´s Dog - Pampered Menial Jethro Tull - Songs from the Wood. Neutral Milk Hotel - In the aeroplane over the sea Pixies - Doolittle Sufjan Stevens - Illinois Pink Floyd - The Wall Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms Yes - Close to the Edge
I have been putting this off as well, and you inspired me to start jotting down my list. What’s unbelievable is that you showed J.J. Cale’s “Naturally” 5 seconds after I wrote it down on my list. It’s undoubtedly somewhere in my top 3… perfect LP.
Great choices. I didn’t know a few of these. The back cover of Discovery…that dude is Brad Garrett (of Everybody Loves Raymond Fame) apparently. A New World Record and Face The Music are my favorite ELO albums
Consider myself to be a pretty big Fabs nut, but somehow, aside from their hits & being aware of their tragic story..somehow missed Badfinger. Then I saw this video. saw an opportunity to get this album the other day (the original single LP not the reissue you have) and went for it solely based on your reco, Harry. And damn, am I glad I did. What a gorgeous record! Thank you so much for turning me onto it! 👍🏼
Great stuff Harry, ELO is a surprise coming from acoustic guitar guy, some would say it’s because of the Beatles thread but you are obviously an experienced listener and Jeff Lynne’s work stands on its own , 8 out of your 10 are on my top list , very cool !
Great picks, Harry. Some classics there indeed. I've got History by America, but have never listened to Homecoming on its own. I'll have to do that. Cheers! 😁
Great choices Harry. ELO discovery is my favorite by them. Not a bad song on there at all. Reminds me of being 18 or 19. Love The Beach Boys! I just put a new mix together yesterday of them.
Love that Getz/Gilberto record, sounds do good on the reissue too. Very cool that you have that attachment to the Beach Boys. Love Brad Garrett on the back of that ELO record. I met Dewey Bunnell randomly at an airport, really cool guy.
Great top ten Harry ,ive got a few of them .I saw America in concert in Newcastle upon tyne where i live in 1973,your right thier first four albums are great.Got no Cream Free or Jethro Tull in there , shame on you 😂 Thanks man loved that.
Hi Harry! My Getz Gilberto album gets a lot of play as well. I love America and I'm still looking for that Traffic album. It's very common but always trashed.😄 Lol. Take care.
Hey Harry Good video. I don't have any of the records save the Getz Gilberto and the Bad finger which is still sealed. I was just telling my son the other day I should open it up and play it. Great record 😊
I enjoy most of the vids on this thread, especially when you guys show 'new' material, spiced with personal stories. Thank you. I would be more tempted to start a thread " the 10 most underrated records in my collection that everybody should own!" Well, truth to be told: I have never done a video (no time), but plenty of time to enjoy your videos, cheers! Holger (Melbourne)
....My first car was a 1969 Barracuda..... and there was lots of music i remember at that time.. .. today when i hear that music .. I always remember that Car.. thanks for the video.......
Nice selection! I would never guess you are an ELO “Disco Very” fan. I like it, but more partial to “A New World Record”. Can’t argue with Getz-Gilberto, but I’ll try come up with a reason. Thanks Harry.
Very nice list. I have 8 of your picks. All favorites. Personally I (very slightly) prefer “Low Spark”, “Hat Trick”, “Eldorado”, and “Straight Up”, all of which are in my favorite 25 all time albums, along with “Naturally”. My picks would also contain some West Coast folk rock (CSNY, Fleetwood Mac, Jefferson Airplane, Linda Ronstadt, Joni Mitchell), some prog-rock (early Pink Floyd, early Genesis, Yes, Alan Parsons, Mike Oldfield), and a lot of Beatles, and their solo stuff too.
That James Gang album needs a re-release. What a great, great record. If I'm not wrong Analogue Productions has all the James Gang masters (as well as the Steppenwolf masters), and I would dearly love to hear the Joe Walsh era albums on audiophile vinyl (33 rpm please)...
That James Gang album is a dynamic debut once you get past the wasted 40 seconds at the beginning. It relies a bit too much on cover songs but they're so damn impressively done I won't complain too much.
@@harrysmusicroom That's one helluva find. I have the AP pressing of 'The Smoker You Drink...' but I've always preferred 'Barnstorm' by a slight edge. BTW if you haven't heard JJ Cale's 'Really' (follow-up to 'Naturally') then check it out. It's more stripped back and has a great groove ('Right Down Here', 'Changes', 'Soulin', 'Mojo'). Cheers...
the 1st 2 Albums I could easily put into my bucket list... I'm a fan of most of the others, but I love listening to CHICAGO 1st Albums and the 4nth side always moves me. JJ Cale, I hell I cover one of the songs and had the 1st 6 or 7 albums released once. Some of the others were too commercial for me, so I won't go there :) ... anyway, Peace - m.
Hi 👋 I like JJ Cales music. I had his album Troubadour back in 1976 on vinyl. It contains the single from it called Travellin Light, which I like. I'm in my sixties and i have a large music collection from the 1960s to the early 2000s. The,Beach Boys i grew up listening to, hits on the radio such as Don't worry Baby 1964, I can hear Music 1969, Sloop John B 1966, Do it Again 1968 etc. America put out some good songs. Badfinger were a good group too. They were signed to the Beatles label Apple. Two members of the group committed suicide. I can emotional too listening to music. I'm getting older now.
The diary of Horace Wimp....my fave ELO tune,i have it on 7" single 👍👍👍 America....A horse with no name and Ventura Highway, great songs and i have them on 7" too 👍👍👍 Loved your comment at the end about being comfortable with the LPs and with them being like an old much loved jacket or a pair of shoes 👍👍👍
Hi Harry really enjoyed how you approached this thread . I have 4 of the albums you showed out of those the jj cale is my favourite I’ve a few of his albums and I like them all 👍
You started out great….all ones that could be on my own list…but Discovery (aka Disco-very)? I thought it was a huge letdown from the previous 4 releases of theirs…
Been watching these recent top ten playlists, and enjoyed yours as well as the others. Your narration reminds me how much our “Top Tens” are really the soundtrack to our lives. Thanks for sharing!
yeah, you're totally right with the soundtrack to our lives
I think this thread has caused a lot of thought in the VC. I have most of your picks. Finally got my entry up. I left classic rock for others.

looking forward to seeing your list
I picked up Discovery last week- it’s a beautiful album and very familiar to me, it was played at almost every party I went to back in the late 70s
thanks for watching!
Lol, I also had my vcr ready to record. It was so exciting to find that video you really loved. Now we can see them all on YT
True, thanks for watching!
I had the exact same thought with this thread. I haven’t done this yet but may, just trying to think what would I pick. Enjoyed your response

Thanks Terry!
These are our musical equivalents of a well-worn pair of jeans! Nice choices.
exactly, thanks for watching.
Love that Getz/Gilberto record, sounds do good on the reissue too. Very cool that you have that attachment to the Beach Boys. Love Brad Garrett on the back of that ELO record. I met Dewey Bunnell randomly at an airport, really cool guy.

Very nice, Harry. You showed some great albums. Nice variety.
thanks Jamie, I appreciate it.
Hey Harry Good video.
I don't have any of the records save the Getz Gilberto and the Bad finger which is still sealed. I was just telling my son the other day I should open it up and play it. Great record 😊
Thanks for watching Ron.
You’re right How do you pick 10 albums when they’re so many you love!!! I couldn’t do it!! Good video!!

The Badfinger lp is an inspired choice. An incredible record on Apple. Well done!
I really like that JJ Cale album. Did not know you were in the Air Force my friend thank you for your service

I found a used copy of Analogue Productions "Barnstorm" for $18 I couldn't pay for it fast enough.

Aaaaaah VERY interesting picks!!
8 tracks make music to my ears!! How and where did you find a counterfit 8 track?
It was 1973 and there was a store called tape Town and everything they sold was counterfeit
You started out great….all ones that could be on my own list…but Discovery (aka Disco-very)? I thought it was a huge letdown from the previous 4 releases of theirs…
I like most of the ELO titles but Discovery just clicked with me. Thanks for watching.
No filler on this video , but John Barleycorn , ELO and then the soft Getz Gilberto
I would get the TV Guide, not the reader's digest 🤣😂
Elo disco very ..little jeff joke
None of those would get in my top 1000. My opinion though.
that's what makes music so great, thanks for watching!
