Hi Jack! Caroline will be at Pomona College in Claremont about 90 minutes inland from Los Angeles. Ironically, we still have our house in Huntington Beach as a rental property which is also not far from Claremont. There’s supposed to a great record store there called Rhino. I have a feeling I’ll be checking it out! ✌️

When you listen to as much music as we do, there are a lot of “most-listened-to” records. Love that Social Distortion record! Also play Animals a lot, probably more than other Pink Floyd records. Also Sinatra’s Sands’ record is excellent. Just bought the reissue of Garcia’s solo. Great production and songs. Thanks for sharing.
Abacab is a reference the form of song. A is the verse, b is the chorus, c is the bridge. Abacab was a working title. In the end they changed the form of the song but the name stuck.
'Animals' yeah! Amazing, idea, concept, music, a masterpiece! I saw Simple minds live 5 years ago at an outdoor venue in newark, england. Fantastic, i much like you love the 'New gold dream' stuff. Neo speedwagon - "infectious pop rock" you say? I'll add them to my never ending list of things to buy! I can't keep up at the minute!! Ha ha....
It looks like the letters on the Jason and the Scorchers album was a radio station. The punched out circle on the cover also indicates it was once a cutout or promo.
You're correct. I just did a deeper look at it and it is call letters for now gone radio station in London, Ontario. I've had this record since the 80s and now just noticing that after reading your comment!
Hey Mike, sorry to hear that your party got canceled. My families weekend BBQ got postponed as well unfortunately but today is a much nicer day weather wise so hopefully the rain holds off! Anyway, some great albums you picked here. That Sinatra album is a classic. Grew up listening to him, whenever Frank was on at my grandparents house it meant my grandma was making an Italian dinner lol. Cheers!

I picked up a copy of 'Tubular Bells' on cassette at a charity shop just last week. I think I actually prefer 'Ommadawn' these days, as 'Tubular Bells' has been over-played over the years ... 'Animals' is one of the Floyd albums I've not given enough attention to. It's interesting to see how many people in the vinyl community have it as their favourite Floyd album.

I am the metal guy, but believe it or not i own " Sinatra At the Sands". You can hear glasses clinking and in my imagination hoods hustling for a better seat. Was annoyed " Luck be a Lady " is not on the vinyl release, it is part of this performance. Would rather that song than the comedy routine. I am on the look out for that live simple minds as well. I had it many years ago and enjoyed it. Simple Minds are coming to New Zealand early next year i think. Great video Mike.

I've seen Social D a bunch of times and was supposed to see them last month but they cancelled the tour due to Mike Ness' illness. Hope he gets better soon. The Who were my first favorite band directly related to my older brother's record collection. Interesting choice for Simple Minds. I bought that back when it came out cause I had become a big fan after Once Upon a Time. Wish I had kept my vinyl of that. Cool stuff as always dude....

Do not know most of these albums but the Genesis album is good and 'Abacab' is a great track while Simple Minds have a strong discography.

I've seen Social D a bunch of times and was supposed to see them last month but they cancelled the tour due to Mike Ness' illness. Hope he gets better soon. The Who were my first favorite band directly related to my older brother's record collection. Interesting choice for Simple Minds. I bought that back when it came out cause I had become a big fan after Once Upon a Time. Wish I had kept my vinyl of that. Cool stuff as always dude....
