My favourite record of all time is my original UK vertigo swirl, Patto - Hold Your Fire. My grandma would always buy me records at garage sales, even though I didn’t have a record player. I kept every single one and didn’t go through them until after I started collection about a year ago. Learned about Vertigo through watching your channel, almost lost my mind when I realized what she had bought me. She got it for 1$, checked eBay and Discogs, and when I saw that 200$ median I nearly dropped my jaw to the floor. Amazing psych album, absolutely love it. Rock on, Anders
Love those stories, man. Isn’t it wonderful how pretty much every record in your collection has a story attached to it. No stories come from downloading a digital file. Thanks, Dillon! 🎶👍
I'm newer to your channel and man is it the highlight of my day when I sit down at the end of a busy day and listen to you talk so passionately about your records (and music in general). Keep on rolling Dillon!
The stories of how we find records is a huge part of our collecting these slabs of vinyl. Anyone can click a couple of buttons but parking lots and car trunks ?? Great stories.
Hi Dillon, Keep the record stories coming! I remember eyeing a Rolling Stones box set of Let It Bleed at your shop. I already had several albums and couldn't pull the trigger on it cuz of the cost. My wife bought it for me. You know, just about every record we own has a story! Take care.
Love your passion! The stories are wonderful to hear! We could talk for hours! Channels such as this one puts things in perspective and helps me get through these times!
The favorite vinyls from my collection are a top three. 1. The essential Elvis Presley 2. Chuck berry's greatest hits 3. Beatles greatest hits 1960 to 1963 I love all of my collection dearly, but those are my go to records!
that's probably the most appropriate place to find a muddy waters blues record, not because it's bad, but because it's blues. Blues lives in the dirt, obscurity, like most great men. It's got a sorted past, it's seen things. It might've went blind 50 years ago, but it's still singing.
Finally got in post today 13 Floor E today Yahoo only a repress Dylan sounds good nice pressing no pops or skips...Not 300 pounds copy just around 30 with post....For me its all about The Music.
I mean this in the best of ways i reslly do...I’m a fellow southerner and suffer from the same affliction. You are long winded as hell lol. You remind me of me a few years younger. Just like you it takes me 20 minutes to tell a 30 second story. Rock on dude!
Zeppelin played at The AlbertHall in 1970. The cover of that bootleg you have is the poster from the 1971 show at Wembley Empire Pool {might be the Albert Hall concert with the Wembley Empire Pool poster used for the artwork I guess} en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Led_Zeppelin_United_Kingdom_Tour_Winter_1971 Love that Budgie album you have behind you {"Squawk"}, though "Never turn your back on a friend" is the classic album by them. Metallica covered the opening track {"Breadfan"}. Van Halen used to play "In For The Kill" live. Great & influential Welsh band.
The Yesterdays Children album you featured on your show has a legendary status in the area of Connecticut where I live .The musicians who play on it were local residents who resided in the communities of Waterbury and Prospect here in the Naugatuck valley region .A friend of mine who owned Brass City Records knew them very well . I appreciate your passion and love of so many types and genres of vinyl and your unique way of expressing your excitement. Keep doing what your doing and God Bless. Thank You
I was 11 or 12 when I saw a BBC documentary from 1975 called "roots, rock reggae" that turned me on to Bob Marley, mighty Diamonds, the Gladiators, Joe Hibbs, inner Circle and the political turmoil of Jamaica... it's on youtube check it out.
Good day Dillon great stories with all the records and the best part was the genuine honesty about how you came across all the albums. Two thumbs up for being a straightforward person and not forgetting we’re you started I absolutely loved this video and Yesterday’s Children is a killer no filler album I absolutely love it as well, Cheers Snowy
Everytime you show records I see some new great stuff...the Yesterdays Children is one of those...looked it up...added to my want list....Clayton in the comments mentioned the Squawk from Budgie....looked that up as well...wow ..was amazed...added to my want list too. Keep on spinning you guys!
Unfortunately when it comes to autism there’s not as much help as you’d think. We have learned how to manage things better now after a few years of figuring it out but sometimes you have to make sacrifices. I don’t regret it!
Noble Records I know. We're not there yet. But we gotta fight for it. Everyone's tapped out and the youngest are left for dead. Sorry to be so political but this covid thing has shifted my priorities
You made a new customer and subscriber during this lockdown. Definitely checking in next time we come down from the mountains to CLT. Check out the Habitat for Humanity restore next time you're in AVL. Decent vinyl section to dig through real quick and I've found a couple keepers.
only just discovered your channel, love your passion and knowledge. My parents had agreat collection, jazz, folk, classical, rock and i have inherited that passion, been buying since 1974
The problem here is albums have to be in pristine condition, especially the cover, before record collectors are interested. Most of these you are showing are totally unknown. What about Holly, Valens and other 50s artists original albums ? Tommy Roe? Early Beatles ? I have no idea where you get the idea that obscure records like these would be valuable. I have several original albums from the 50s, 60s and so on. Yet I've been told they aren't worth anything since they were opened and played. So how could these unknown opened albums you have be worth what you say ?
Seems to be a connoisseurs market. No offense intended, but I don't buy stocks or gold and silver either. I buy the music for the music. I go to Mac's for a coffee, not Starbucks. I grew up with Holly, Valens, Bill Haley, etc. When I die my treasure will wind up in a dirty dumpster along with worn-out jeans, old dishes, used tools, and lost memories. So it goes man, so it goes... You are OK. It ain't us... F**k Led Zepp, Just f**k 'em.
Had alive bootleg one like that led zep live but it was from Sweden '71?..I think. Had poster and it was poor sound quality but it was an INCREDIBLE performance!!! Had to have been 15 years ago at least.
Hey, check out New Zealand band Dragon - Universal Radio (74) followed by Scented Gardens for the Blind (75), Dragon moved to Australia 75/76 and became a famous (NZ :-)) pop band. Universal Radio is THE best NZ prog album of all time! These first two albums are well short after high dollar albums worldwide. Cheers!
What makes an important record is a good story. A great record is not about value, it’s about the emotion that it creates inside of you and the personal history it brings back to memory. I was working on videos of my life for my kids based upon music as most things in my life tend to have a soundtrack. Really enjoyed this solely for your stories. Have a great week Dillon
Always love to watch ya brother ! I’m into vinyl as well and you’ve enlightened me lots ever think about doin punk and metal ? I collect lots of that as well as the stuff you show I love it all
I was at that Led Zeppelin concert in 1970 at the Royal Albert Hall one of my first proper concerts I went too, but the very first concert was Tony Bennett with the Count Basie Band and I was only 16 years old great memories, I also saw the one and only Creedence Clearwater Revival Concert in the UK in London 1970. Saw Mighty Baby many times at the Roundhouse Chalk Farm London, they were just one of many great bands I saw around 1969 to 1980, two very underrated bands I really like and saw the most were Stray and Quintessence, have a listen to the live track St Pancras, it captures there live act with some great guitar playing, they both made a few albums around the early 1970’s check them out, Stray have a great guitarist called Del Bromhan, he’s still playing to this day!
Hey man, I really dig your videos! You've put me on some great music. I can get a Japanese copy of velvet underground Andy Warhol vinyl for 60$ is it worth it? Thanks alot
200$ for 7000 albums!!! You didn’t know for sure if you’d make your money back!! Lol I’m sure you certainly learned that was beyond killing it for profits and free stuff for personal..wish I could find 7000 good records for 5-10-15g these days let alone 200$!! Lol.
I see Budgie’s Squawk behind you. Bought it in high school in ~76 or ‘77 it was an import. Whiskey River, Drugstore Woman and the rest still sound great. Love me some trios with a big sound. PF’s the Piper I got from a friend at 14 or 15 a couple years after DSOTM. I prefer Piper and got the reissue a couple years back as the OG was shot.
I have been keeping a listening log since 2003, so I can say how many times I have listened to each record - the ones I listen to the most must be my favorites, right? Since Dillon has done rock and blues, I will hit my top three in Britfolk and classical. For classical, I will go by the piece rather than individual performances, and recommend performances. 1. Battlefield Band - Home is Where the Van Is 2. Pentangle - Cruel Sister 3. Nic Jones - Penguin Eggs 1. Bruch - Scottish Fantasy - You can't go wrong with the Oistrakh/Horenstein, but the Grumiaux and the Perlman are also highly worthwhile 2. Schubert - Arpeggionne Sonata - the Shafran, the Starker, and the Rostropovich are all great 3. Brahms - Violin Concerto - Kogan/Kondrashin, a $5000 record, but I have the reissue - I also have 22 other ones
Another great video brother. Off topic, a few weeks ago you had your buddy on and he was gushing over your home set up. I’m looking to seriously upgrade mine, could you please let me know what you have ? I’m keeping my Technics 1200’s cos they’re part of the family at this point but could you let me know what components you have and wether that would work with my decks. ✌🏻
I really like your taste in music, and i mean it because you do in fact have great taste, and i like a lot of the same music and bands..... but more than anything i love your stories and how you transport us back in time through your experiences and emotional ties to the albums. I get the same way with music when i talk to friends and my poor wife who has to hear me repeatedly. Keep up the great work!!
That s/t Townes record is a grail for me. I have og copies of most of his other albums.. This one has eluded me for over a decade lol. I bought the fat possum reissue and it’s not… sonically great to say the least.
Blaze Foley...I would bet you've been setting off metal detectors since you were a little guy. No doubt an xray would reveal the horse shoe you have been sitting on all these years. I remember the first turntable I ever laid eyes on. It was long ago; probably before I started school. i plan to tell you about it sometime.
Lots of great stories. When I was a kid I lived near a chewing gum factory. I used to dumpster dive into the bins at the back of the factory. I'd rather dumpster dive for LP's than chewing gum, however, I did smell really nice after climbing out of the dumpster.
That side slip on Pink Floyd album says it's released in Japan. Usually, when an album is released in other countries, album content may differ slightly from the one released in the US.
Hey Dillion I need your advice I may have a once in a lifetime chance at that Yesterday’s Children album It’s a radio station promo and actually someone wrote the station call letters on front cover and there’s a piece of masking tape on back cover with I assume the storage number but otherwise cover is Very Good maybe less? But the vinyl is VG to VG+ The guy had it out on the floor (literally) in a plastic ziplock baggie (Fallon one LoL) and the price is $80 It has to be OG but is that one I need to jump on He’s holding it for me now and he won’t sell it til I say I don’t want it but yeah I think I know your answer I have pics of it if you wanna see LoL Peace ☮️ Cosmic Brian
Noble Records I can I’ll for sure He acquires it months ago but kept it at home now he’s put it up for sale and I started salivating at the chance to own it Thanks Man
Every single record has a story. My dad gave my his records originals first (wish you gérer here, the white album, breakfast at Tiffany’s, Led Zeppelin II,lots of Keith Jarreith). When you are un music for long but with cd or digital. You get smacked by those things all very well maintained they sound so amazing.
Man that Piper story was pretty amazing, almost like you are destined to keep it. Pink Floyd is my favorite band and the early stuff is hands down my favorite Floyd. I really dig the more jam oriented thing they had going on pre Dark Side. Piper is definitely the apex of 60s psychedelia for me as well, Interstellar Overdrive still blows my mind. Last thing, the Mighty Baby and SRC albums you recommended are absolutely insane. I was looking for some more psych albums along the lines of Arzachel and T2 and man did you deliver! Scrambled my brains haha! Another one of my favorites that’s similar is Andromeda self titled from 1969. Best wishes to you and your family.
As always, great stories man! Love the records, the townes is incredible! Can‘t wait for the next video. One of these „record moments“ for me was listening to the second Georgia Satellites album in a music store in 1988 when I was 15. I grew up with the Beatles and some Kiss and AC/DC, but not much choice on then very restricted Swiss Radio. Then after years of listening to European FM (Synth Pop, New Wave, German crap etc) I suddenly heard Rock N Roll again. Their cover of Whole Lotta Shakin’ is brilliant. Been hooked ever since.
My wife and I were just up in Elk Park, NC. I just found your channel and now I’m hooked. I’m sitting here on my couch in Florida and realize we were close to your shop and we missed the opportunity to come and say hello. I miss my years thumbing through record bins. Years ago, 1970, I started collecting music while at Tulane University in New Orleans. They had a co-op record store on campus called the Mushroom and that’s where I spent every spare dime, going home and playing my latest purchase on a mono-suitcase record player in my dorm room. Best to you and keep these videos flowing.
I love these videos where you give a little insight into your musical backstory! I know how hard it is living with a loved one with autism and I can imagine how hard it must've been to decide to sell your collection. Your passion for music and vinyl really shines through man, hope the best for you and your family during these times!
This is one of my favorite videos that I have watched on your channel. Love the stories of how you came into possession of those records and what they meant to you. Thanks for sharing.
I always enjoy your videos. I look forward to watching them. You’re someone who I’d love to hang out with, drink a few beers and take turns playing records all night.
Can you write the name of the last album that you mentioned? You said that it's really good and I have never listened about it. I will search it but I did not understand the name completely because I'm from Spain and my listening of english sometimes is not the best... If you can write it here or something you will do me a favor😊
I could kick myself in the head from selling or losing a bunch of vinyl in my 20's and 30's. I am 59 now and still won't part with any albums until I am 75 or older!
Thankfully, I didn't start collecting until I was already grown up. I ain't sellin' SHIT while I'm alive! They gonna have to wait til I'm *dead* before I give up my collection! And I'm not entirely opposed to haunting, either.
Love seeing this video pop up in my recommendations every now and then because the thumbnail is that gorgeous Electric Magic I took off your hands hahaha
Your channel is so cool man. I’m 15, and I’ve listened to a lot of records from all over, but you’re always introducing me to outstanding albums that I’ve never heard of. Loving the videos! 🤘
Man, Natural Mystic from Exodus '77 ..my favorite Bob Marley and the Wailers LP! Dear dear dear! I am looking For some Bonzo Dog Doodah Band! Tadpole?,Gorilla?? Doughnut In Granny's Greenhouse???! Live? Do Not Adjust Your Set!
Sentimental videos are so interesting!! Natural Mystic is a song from heaven. Dumpster diving, the best way. Record Store owner near me still does this, only wants rock n roll type vinyls, throws the 'good stuff' in the trash every month or so. Often a good idea to keep an eye out on record stores, or the back of them, near you.
Just started watching your channel while on quarantine. I really look forward to them and learn about a lot of new artists. Also, not a new artist to me, but because you talk so much about your love of Zeppelin I finally broke down and bought I-IV. It’s a Zeppelin Saturday in our house. Thanks, man!
If the Led Zeppelin, Electric Magic was recorded in 1970 that could not be the poster from the show as they have the symbols in each corner that represent each member that were not chosen until the 4th album?
That Japanese pressing of Piper is sick! Very heart warming story regarding it. That Zeppelin Electric Magic boot is amazing looking. I have a version that came out fairly recently and it includes the whole show, sounds incredible. Awesome stuff Dillion, cheers and stay safe!
Yes! That’s quite the haul grammah 🤣
Love those stories, man. Isn’t it wonderful how pretty much every record in your collection has a story attached to it. No stories come from downloading a digital file. Thanks, Dillon! 🎶👍
HAHAHA yes! Very true 🤣
Actually there is a story the story is “I felt like getting this, so I got it” nice story right?
Two records you might want to find. Omnibus 1970 on United Artist and the Soundtrack to the movie "The Hot Spot" 1990 on Antilles. Good hunting!
I'm newer to your channel and man is it the highlight of my day when I sit down at the end of a busy day and listen to you talk so passionately about your records (and music in general). Keep on rolling Dillon!
Thanks for watching! 🙏
The stories of how we find records is a huge part of our collecting these slabs of vinyl. Anyone can click a couple of buttons but parking lots and car trunks ?? Great stories.
Really enjoyed the stories. That Poppy label brought back some memories. Haven't seen one of those since I was 14 & I'm now 64. Cool.
Oh wow! Yeah I love the poppy stuff!
Natural Mystic and Pipers was my introduction to Bob Marley and Pink Floyd too. So good!
Hi Dillon, Keep the record stories coming! I remember eyeing a Rolling Stones box set of Let It Bleed at your shop. I already had several albums and couldn't pull the trigger on it cuz of the cost. My wife bought it for me. You know, just about every record we own has a story! Take care.
Awesome! Thank you!!! That was a cool set!
"I'm honest. If I've never heard something, I'll tell you." Unless it's Bob Marley lol. Great video!
Hahahaha that’s when I was like 7th grade 🤣🤣🤣
Love your passion! The stories are wonderful to hear! We could talk for hours! Channels such as this one puts things in perspective and helps me get through these times!
The favorite vinyls from my collection are a top three.
1. The essential Elvis Presley
2. Chuck berry's greatest hits
3. Beatles greatest hits 1960 to 1963
I love all of my collection dearly, but those are my go to records!
Great stories and albums - thanks for sharing.
Dumpster diving for records is a dream of mine ☺️
It would be great if you could tell us more about the value of the records you talk about. Thank you.
that's probably the most appropriate place to find a muddy waters blues record, not because it's bad, but because it's blues. Blues lives in the dirt, obscurity, like most great men. It's got a sorted past, it's seen things. It might've went blind 50 years ago, but it's still singing.
They are definitely not stupid personal stories. This is your life and it’s precious.
That stupid story made me like and subscribe....just a down to earth guy who knows music has meaning and a personal story.
Finally got in post today 13 Floor E today Yahoo only a repress Dylan sounds good nice pressing no pops or skips...Not 300 pounds copy just around 30 with post....For me its all about The Music.
Dillon, your joy about records is so great. I want to give you money to buy a record like your grandma.
Thanks! I’m always up for money for records 🤣
The album you bought from your grandmother's 100 dollars may as well be worth a million! A great memory for you.
I mean this in the best of ways i reslly do...I’m a fellow southerner and suffer from the same affliction. You are long winded as hell lol. You remind me of me a few years younger. Just like you it takes me 20 minutes to tell a 30 second story. Rock on dude!
Not the first time I’ve heard that hahah. In these videos I don’t have anyone interrupting me so... 🤣
Its all good. Thanks for your insight. Listening to Yesterday’s Children as i post this 😉

Geez...7,000 records for $200...and all that stuff? JACKPOT!!!
Great video , with a lot of feelings and discoveries thanks mate keep up the good job ... love it
Have you ever heard the English band "Pink Fairys" ? I think I spelled that correctly. Late 60' early 70's
The Yesterdays Children album you featured on your show has a legendary status in the area of Connecticut where I live .The musicians who play on it were local residents who resided in the communities of Waterbury and Prospect here in the Naugatuck valley region .A friend of mine who owned Brass City Records knew them very well . vicious vinyl homebrewing, Another Budgie lp I like is Never Turn Your Back on a Friend. Happy hunting.
Dude - you should never have to sell your collection for medical expenses 😞 we need Medicare For All like every country but the US have

I don’t have as much knowledge of punk and metal, nor do I have much in my collection, but maybe some day!
...man! your videos should be prescribed by doctors for all vinyl junkies in lockdown.... more power to your turntable... and thanks!
When we were kids we bought an album by a group called Brass Monkey, it was around 1973, has a picture of a brass money playing a trimpet

Lots of great stories. When I was a kid I lived near a chewing gum factory. I used to dumpster dive into the bins at the back of the factory. I'd rather dumpster dive for LP's than chewing gum, however, I did smell really nice after climbing out of the dumpster.
Hahaha that sounds like a sticky situation!
I've watched a ton of your videos and this was one of my favorites. I love the personal stories.
Sounds like a great deal! Jump on it!
Noble Records I can I’ll for sure He acquires it months ago but kept it at home now he’s put it up for sale and I started salivating at the chance to own it Thanks Man
Love your videos - you’ve put me in touch with some great music I never knew about! Cheers buddy!
I’m glad! Thank you for the kind words!
Hi man I'm fan of blue cheer and Jimi Hendrix and deep purple and Megadeth and the doors and like metal bands Candlemass and
I love Pink Floyd, but... Pretty Things: S.F. Sorrow > Pink Floyd: The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
That’s a real strong album! Who’s to say what’s better, both great!
Oh yes I got you, I'm in the same mood for about 50 years and have a lot of stories behind. Great vid!
I'm fan metal bands Candlemass and blue cheer and Jimi Hendrix and deep purple and Megadeth and Testament .
Great story about gramma. Very sweet. I'm looking for an original press version of Pyromania from Def Leppard. Got a copy you want to sell?
I’ll look, I think I got a message from you on the website! I’ll try to find one
@@noblerecords yeah. That was me. Very cool, man thank you!
Love the stories. Grandma’s are the best!
Blaze Foley! My god! That is A score! Never give that up!!
I have all the Budgie original vinyl...how much is the "Squawk" album going for now?
Depends on the press. $75-125 and up depending on the condition also
As always, great stories man!
Thanks for watching!
God said this is your calling when u picked that Ellington
Nice one! Do you collect P-Funk? Funkadelic? I’m curious.
Thanks! Come on by next time you’re in town!
It’s just not fair that you had to sell your wreckers to pay for your sons therapy. We need to be better.
I love these videos where you give a little insight into your musical backstory! I know how hard it is living with a loved one with autism and I can imagine how hard it must've been to decide to sell your collection. Your passion for music and vinyl really shines through man, hope the best for you and your family during these times!
Thank you so much for the kind words! It can be a challenge but it’s my joy, I love my boy!
Great stories. You made me check Mighty Baby, and I am amazed. Thank you. All the best.
Man. You are amazing. I love your channel. Thanks for the album tips!
This is one of my favorite videos that I have watched on your channel. Love the stories of how you came into possession of those records and what they meant to you. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks man! Hope y’all are doing well!
I always enjoy your videos. I look forward to watching them. You’re someone who I’d love to hang out with, drink a few beers and take turns playing records all night.
You bought an entire record collection for $200?
Can you write the name of the last album that you mentioned? You said that it's really good and I have never listened about it. I will search it but I did not understand the name completely because I'm from Spain and my listening of english sometimes is not the best... If you can write it here or something you will do me a favor😊
Townes Van Zandt - 'Townes Van Zandt'
Thank you!!
Also is that Morgan behind you the original gatefold ?
Blaze Foley isn't shit.
No he’s not. He’s gold!
I could kick myself in the head from selling or losing a bunch of vinyl in my 20's and 30's. I am 59 now and still won't part with any albums until I am 75 or older!
Call me when you’re 75🤣 just kidding! Thanks for watching!
I’ve had and sold a few but probably won’t sell the one I have now. It’s a beauty!
@@noblerecords I wouldn’t either, they really are amazing recordings and pressings!
Great vid! Btw I tried to look up towns on Spotify but I can't find it, did I spell it right?

Your channel is so cool man. I’m 15, and I’ve listened to a lot of records from all over, but you’re always introducing me to outstanding albums that I’ve never heard of. Loving the videos! 🤘
Man, Natural Mystic from Exodus '77 ..my favorite Bob Marley and the Wailers LP! Dear dear dear! I am looking For some Bonzo Dog Doodah Band! Tadpole?,Gorilla?? Doughnut In Granny's Greenhouse???! Live? Do Not Adjust Your Set!
Dude I love your videos learning about a lot of great music peace
Fifty Foot Hose and Morgen back there. Great albums also.
Yes! Some of my favorites as well!
My first 14 year old change s music ..Roxy Music..Iggy Pop TV Eye..Eater..the label..Gen X..999. Buzzcocks...
Dillon, your love of music shines through so warmly in your videos. Always uplifting. Hope to visit your record shop in NC someday!
Vclt not sure how that works cause there is no channel
You look a little like Blaze Foley with your beard (he wasn't wearing it on that album cover)
Yes! I’ve been told that 🤣
If the Led Zeppelin, Electric Magic was recorded in 1970 that could not be the poster from the show as they have the symbols in each corner that represent each member that were not chosen until the 4th album?
That Japanese pressing of Piper is sick! Very heart warming story regarding it. That Zeppelin Electric Magic boot is amazing looking. I have a version that came out fairly recently and it includes the whole show, sounds incredible. Awesome stuff Dillion, cheers and stay safe!
Yes I have that version too 🤣 I’m a psycho when it comes to zeppelin
Dillon, what's the album directly behind you with The Scream on the cover?
EDIT: Morgen's 1969 S/T. awesome.
