    I listen to Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead but for some reason I just love this. This blows my mind. So much talent and it just sounds gorgeous.

    Eine wunderbare Version dieses Stücks. Es hört sich so "warm" an.

    My absolute reference for this piece is Alarm will Sound’s life performance in New York. But this is a masterful interpretation in its own right. Beautiful, warm sound and I even discovered some new patterns in your performance. Great. Thank you!

    Excellent performance, very precise. The clarinets are so in control. Best performance in a long time. Great work!

    Wonderful performance of great music - uh, but I count 19 musicians on stage...........

      @sebastianzaczek 4 года назад +8

      18 is the absolute Minimum required for the piece, but because of some pretty fast Instrument changes it's often performed with 19 or even 20 musicians.

      @@sebastianzaczek And, I assume, to give at least some of the musicians a break.

    Beautiful! I loved the tempo, the precision, the recording. But WHY OH WHY was there a commercial literally about 2 seconds before the end of the piece? Was that place there on purpose to ruin our experience of the ending? Answers, please!

    THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING! Btw., performance starts at 0:54 :-)

    Excellent performance! One observation: why speeding up the tempo on section 8? It should be the same tempo from start to finish. I can infer that y’all wanted to play the section(s) with different tempo(s) to be less boring (😂). Any who, bravo! 👏

    • @MartijnDendievel
      @MartijnDendievel  5 лет назад +7

      Steve Reich himself writes in the performance material that every section has it's own pulse and character, and also suggests taking contact with one musician of the original group, to help find the tempo of each section. The tempo change at section 8 was chosen because then it comes quite exactly at the golden ratio position... :-)

      @TheEverlong12 5 лет назад +1

      @@MartijnDendievel Also, I LOVE the pulses in this version, it's sooo warm and beautiful! Bravissimo for this!!! 👏👏👏

      @@MartijnDendievel One last observation (I promise!): the xylophone in section 11 it's supposed to be an octave LOWER, not higher (trust me, I've heard many versions that play it an octave lower). I think that's the only "mistake" in that section. Alright I'll stop torturing you! 😂 Cheers again!

    A bit too fast for my taste but I still enjoyed.

      Fast? This piece should take an hour.

    • @stephencoltrane5867

      Allbbrz It’s actually slower than Reich’s original recording for ECM.

    • @klausbaden
      @klausbaden 5 лет назад +5

      dancle167 not exactly. It depends on the number of the repetitions you may choose.... 😉

      Allbbrz It gets fast on section 8 through the end
