I had a friend in college that played a harp just like this one. Me and my three roommates were all friends with her and her three roommates. Her harp used to just sit in her living room except when she would take it to campus for concerts. We used to beg her to play a concert for us in her living room. After months, she finally gave in and scheduled a Sunday afternoon living room concert. She sent out fancy, lacy invitations to everyone in the apartment building. Probably 20 or 30 people came. We all waited for her to come out of the back room to play, but, to our surprise, her three roomates each came out, one at a time, and played one or two pieces each. She had been giving them free lessons for months. After the recital, the harpist came out, thanked us for coming, and announced that the concert was over. My roommate shouted at her that if she didn't play the harp that he would pluck off all of its strings. She then played a long, beautiful piece in a classical style that lasted probably 15 minutes. We clapped our hands raw and all at raman noodles together before leaving.

How many times have I heard these toccata and fugue? how many times have I played them myself on the piano? and here again, a rendition that is so vivid, so majestically simple and true, so un-pretentious that I just need to... need to.... hear it again. Now. I don't know what happened in the brain of J.S. Bach when he composed this piece. Have he understood what he was doing. It almost looks like the piece was imposed on his brain from the outside complete, so perfect it is. Thank you Sophia Kiprskaya for this gift to humanity. Thank you again. Will cherish this rendition forever.
I agree her interpretation of the Toccata and Fugue is very special. She imbues the mathematical precision of the piece with wonderful moods without destroying it in the process. I think she makes it sound much easier than it is to accomplish.
The first 18 minutes is more divine than what a simple man like me deserves to hear. I don´t need to state anything about her extraordinary talent, this is quite evident. May God draw you ever closer to Himself in faith.
@@redshirley1234 You don't understand what God is. God can be used in secular terms to mean something that transcends to a higher plane of existence or as the Buddha (an Atheist) would describe as "Enlightenment" or "Nirvana".
The first time I'm hearing Bach's Toccata & Fugue in D Minor on a harp. What a sorcery by her hands to bewitch me into such trance!! I couldn't take my eyes or ears off this performance for the first few minutes till the camera zoomed out to distract me with the tastefully ornate decor of the hall. This video is visual and aural gold... Bellissimo!!
I'm more of a death metal type, but I'm open to a lot of music. So yeah, that third set had tears running down my cheeks. This was beautiful. Thank you.
I think many people underestimate how closely linked metal and classical are. Developing a love for them both felt like a very natural thing for me. You should also try listening to post-rock - Departure Songs by We Lost The Sea is excellent.
Metal is classical music + overdrive and distortion for death and black. As you get older you will start finding classical music more enticing, especially Bach and Vivaldi, and maybe paganini and Listz. Try v=Nnuq9PXbywA, thats BWV 565 by Hans-Adre Stamm and that thing is more metal than anything you could possibly have listened. Trust me I know. If you liked that one, then try BWV582. You need to give it time as your mind needs some "training" if you will before you can fully appreciate what they are. That said coming from death metal you are already halfway there. If star wars was real Bach could have been a sith lord.

The playing was so magical that it was up on RUclips and has a positive and uplifting comments section 😄🙏
Случай,- когда тело и душа, находятся в состоянии гармонии. Исполнительница - великолепна, дочь богов!
Браво !
Listening to a harp is like listening to music from heaven.
Sounds of heaven to my ears. Have sleep disorder. Found myself falling asleep while listening to this blessed sweet sound of harp. The experience was a peaceful calm. I have heard that the harp is the hardest instrument to master. Is it true? May God bless her. May His Face shine upon her and give her peace. Amen.
I am a harpist, I studied the harp and I tell you she's wonderful.... harp ist a crazy instrument with its 7 pedals and the position is hard to bear such a long time... that's a life time consecration. It has to be really a cleaned play without noises and precision!!!! a big Bravo to her because making it easy is like a miracle.
I think the hardest instrument to master is the Theremin : ruclips.net/video/PjnaciNT-wQ/видео.html

You would have to ask people who mastered multiple instruments and have quite a big sample group becasue it's probably harder to master first instrument than second, third etc
But aren't u a harpist urself ? Or maybe u were in some previous life? Grap that 150 kg harp an try it friend, I'm sure u can play it fine and have decent nights, ur just surching ur way now!
@@thienduchue to master any instrument - to become one with the music and the instrument whatever it may be is truly worthy of great praise
Thank you. So beautiful. Spiritual. The rest of the world went away while I watched you play.....
Zack so do I
A true artist! I feel the Harp is a lost art. I'm so happy i live in a time period i can enjoy music from around the world. greetings from the united states *_*
Beautiful visuals and audio, skill rare indeed, and literally revolutionized what I thought could possibly be done on a harp. Never forget how lucky we are to see such things whenever we please, beyond any king or emperor before...
The best, young harpist EVER!
Hurrah! Hurrah! Onward!🤩❤🤠
Sofia, you totally killed me with Moldau, the rest is heaven.... thank you so much from Kyoto Japan
and how about the Bach?
@@PabloEColorado Bach is god.
There is something just so magical about the harp and its sounds.
Wow, just wow. Bravo!
Pretty, beautiful and full of power!🤩
Harp is a sophisticated and rich by itself.
Same time it can be a fantastic member of orchestra.
Ms. Sophia Kiprskaya brings out the best of this instrument.
Thanks millions from California.

Новых встреч!
Her phrasing is absolutely exquisite. What an amazing performance by all the musicians, bravo thank you!
As an organist, I'll have to say I was skeptical about hearing the Toccata and Fuge in d on a harp, but, Sophia, you won me over with your consummate artistry. There are nuances you brought out that I've never considered before. I'll be watching for your name on C.D.'s and upcoming concerts. I love how you perform music on the harp. May God draw you ever closer to Himself in faith.
What he said.😁
It good even in gaming
Need work on creative but good
God has nothing to do with this woman's artistry! She is amazing 👏 👏👏
Bellissimo!!
this is Devine
Somptueux décor qui ajoute à la magie du son de la harpe. On est dans un rêve
never heard Bach on a harp before, always organs. Lovely work
I'm more of a death metal type, but I'm open to a lot of music. So yeah, that third set had tears running down my cheeks. This was beautiful. Thank you.
Then this is your music.
What a treat to hear the Bach Toccata and Fugue performed so beautifully by Ms. Kiprskaya. Thank you for posting!
