      I am in the process of changing my control arm rear bushs to POLY bushes. I needed to push out the metal ring that encases the rubber of the bush, which left some (like welding) irregularity on the inside of the housing/fixture. Poly bush went in with some pressing assistance. No hammering of new bush to old control arm necessary, but haven't finished yet, so cannot report on the end result (driving experience) yet!
      Good video. I enjoyed it. Thanks

    Thanks for the guide just finished doing mine. I got the middle bolt out (the reverse torx one) by taking off the rear engine mount and tipping the engine forward, moving the drive shafts back.

    @rustoil thanks for your vids. One question: After 1:50 when the car is in top down position you are not disconnecting battery, right?

    everything is disassembled more easily and quickly if the brake system is dismantled and the vertical leg with the hub is removed. In addition, the tampon is inserted at a precise angle, otherwise it doesn't do much. then the entire suspension must be raised to a precise height and all nuts must be tightened to the specified torque with a torque wrench. the whole procedure takes 3 hours from to

    9:22 są dwa rodzaje silentblocków aluminiowych. W Peugocie 407 i C5 X7 bez hydrauliki jest inny silentblock.
    W tych samochodach zawieszenie jest bardzo zaawansowane i skomplikowane. Samochody z grupy VW min te z ,,kurą,, na masce są 100 lat za murzynami.

    Hello. There are two different rear bushes. How to know which one it is if shop is unable to say. That's consider it that you buy part first with out removing first. Thanks

    • @rustoil
      @rustoil  2 года назад

      Take a photo and compare it at the shop with those they have, you will see the difference and will now which one will fit. I have done it in this way. Ofcourse it is not easy to photograph it, you will have to remove wheel.

      @@rustoil I was just wondering are they different for standard suspension and hydraulic one.

    • @rustoil
      @rustoil  2 года назад +1

      They differ even on hydraulic versions... the only way to know what is fitted at the exact car is to check visualy. On spring version, I would believe, that they should be like on my video, because those were used on peugeots, which did not have hydraulics.

    Friend , please help me urgently.
    I have a 2010 Citroen c5 hatchback 1.6 VTR,. And the inside tyres keep completely wearing on inside .
    Changed tyres and 2 week later they completely shredded again on inside.
    Garage had a little look and said tracking needs doing after replacing lower arm bushes, I'm confused because he said replace the lower arm bushes and some other bushes related to it ? Please do you know what he might mean ? He said it's becsuse of the setup on these cars ??
    Thank you

    • @rustoil
      @rustoil  2 года назад

      If tyres are being worn, then definatelly wheel alignement must be done.

      Sorry, i think you overlooked my question .
      I was asking, would replacing the 2 front suspension arms fix the lower control bushings issue ? Also the mechanic says the lower arm bushings and implied additional bushes, what might they be
      Yes I know it needs tracking but it needs that fixing first apparently

      It could be the lower pivot arm bush he mentioned. But after suspension work is carried out always get an alignment done

    suspension in normal position?

    • @rustoil
      @rustoil  4 года назад +1

      When dissasembling, car should be on lowest position, battery disconnected, in order to remove tension from the susspension. I even had to disconnect the hydraulics feed from the hydrocylinder to completely free te susspension.

    • @piotrmagdziarz7362
      @piotrmagdziarz7362 4 года назад

      @@rustoil that is, to give the car up, put the suspension down and disconnect the battery ??

    • @rustoil
      @rustoil  4 года назад +1

      Put it to the highest position, put jack stands under it securely, set the car to the lowest position. Car will retract wheels, then battery should be disconnected. Some tension will be, because of the negative pressure in the hydrocylinders, so in order to move susspension freely pipe on the hydrocylinder is removed. Be carefull.

    Very wrong. Read specialized literature for Citroën. Don't you use a torque wrench? The rim with the tire does not tighten like that. The lower carrier must be horizontal and 54+-5mm from the shank and then it is tightened to certain newtons. Why did you unscrew the steering rod? Don't lie to people!

    • @rustoil
      @rustoil  7 месяцев назад

      Yep, i was not using tourque wrench. And I do this most of the time 😀 and guess what - nothing happened 😀 this channel is not about rocket science, its about simplicity. Dont overthink where you dont need to.
