I've had mine for about 6 months now. Used it twice not for myself but the people I was helping thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. where it really shines is in a crowded parking lot where someone left their lights on, the battery is dead, and they are blocked in by other parked cars and standard jumper cables is not an option. I love this guy. I own it because I stopped for gas and when I tried to start my truck, Nothing, my battery was dead, but someone helped me out with a noco GB40. If you never have to use it for yourself, it sure feels good to help others, especially when it's a stranded mom with little ones. I highly recommend the noco GB40 for light trucks and cars. It works great
I got the GB40 for Christmas 18 charged it up put in in the back and six months later my co worker who drives a big Dodge Ram diesel truck was dead I hooked the GP40 to it and that diesel and it didn’t grunt fired right up
I bought my NOCO GB40 about 6 months ago. Charged it up and put it away in garage. Had to use it yesterday when car battery died. It was still fully charged. At first, car didn’t start, even with Override. Then I realized the jump lead cable weren’t inserted far enough into charger. Started right up.
I got one 3 years ago. Still working great. As a matter of fact, my car battery finally died today after 7 years of use and boost it with 1 try and got my car started. I've used this to boost my car 3 times and another 5 times for friends, family, and co-worker. After 7 years, I've decided to change my car battery today.
I just purchased two NOCO boost plus 12v 1000A.its just peace of mind. I always buy good vehicle batteries but I also drive elderly parents often and don't want to get stuck in the cold
I can positively endorse this battery pack 100%. I work at Disneyland resort and we use this same battery pack on thousands of cars each year and they start every car we hook them up too, except electric cars. For electric cars, you need AAA to help you out there. They are good for about 20 charges but you can always check the life of the battery pack. It's a great little lifesaver if you're on the run because it takes no time at all too hook it up and start your car in under a min...Friendly user easy... They also stay charged for a while, I bought one for all four of my daughters and wife and they have all used it with consistent success.
What's the biggest motor you successfully started? I read a lot of people complaining that it doesn't have enough power, but the others have even started a 5.8L V8 with a GB40....
Man, this is the best review I've seen on this product so far. Thank you for explaining that the vehicles were not connected to the batter. This make me a believer, and I'm purchasing this product for my family and myself.

I bought one for myself and used it on my own vehicle. It was -20 outside and it started my car after a couple attempts. One thing i did notice though was that it drained most of the power from the unit. Not sure if i used it properly or was just because it was extremely cold outside.
I bought the NOCO GB40 because during the lockdown I hadn't run my car for a while and the battery lost too much juice. I plugged in the GB40 and it started up immediately. Now I take a short drive at least once a week to keep the battery charged.

Excellent No Nonsense video with no music. Showing the charge rate in various States, As well as boosting a V8 and V6 to show capability. Awesome video! thank you sir.
This jump-started my 2016 Ram 2500 with the 6.4 L gas Hemi engine just fine. It actually did it three times before I had to recharge it. I purchased a brand new Interstate Battery three months ago but it ended up having a bad cell.
This video completely sold me. I was going to buy the DeWalt 1400 booster...until now. The air compressor is a nice feature, but the additional weight is not worth it.
Just bought one. Had a crappy cat jumper pack with compressor etc that did everything badly. Only used it once since new, but opened the car to see it flashing to say it had malfunctioned. Took it back to Costco on Monday for full refund. Thursday, I took my mum shopping and sat in the car while she was in the shops. Didn’t realise my lights were on. First time I’ve never carried a booster and I had a flat battery lol. Anyway, safe to say, I’ve just ordered one of these for collection tomorrow
I like mine, but you have to watch and remember to check its charge every few months to make sure it hasn't lost its charge. It's a bad day when you go to a dead car all prepared to be a badass and jump it only to realize all the charge in your nifty toy is gone!
2 ways to think of this situation. 1) Remember to charge AND have another external battery such as ANKER available to charge this NOCO battery. Problem solved for forgetting = always have 1 more battery ANKER ($29.99 for about 10K maH = enough for it) 2) u dont always need to jump start a car that's too far from home. Just go home to charge it and bring it to the car to jump start!
Keeping batteries at max charge can damage them pretty quickly. You should regularly discharge them to 50 percent, and long term storage should be at 50 percent.
I had the genius boost pro, these things are awesome man. but my co worker dropped mine, it took a 4 foot drop everything since when I try charging it it will light up and blink at the 25% mark and never goes further. it won't charge and that sucks ass. so take care of it don't let your coworkers borrow it

Get rid of it and get a new one. They can be very dangerous when damaged. I have over 25 years experience with RC cars that run on lipo's and have seen them catch fire and explode. +RareDiamond Ching yeah that is a drawback but on the other hand you should be able to just charge it and throw it into your car or toolbox and be able to jump a number of cars with it before it's next charge.

Noco GB40 Didn’t work for me. Bought after my 2015 cx5 battery was completely dead. Didn’t work after multiple attempts. After wrecker arrived he charged it with his tow truck and noticed car didn’t start after two attempts. He suggested we give it about 5 mins and then it did start. Few notes. My car was driven about two times in the last 3 months. I last moved it about a week prior to learning car was dead. In short, will try and return. I also noticed it took too long to initially charge this unit. About 12 hours and indicators didn’t function as should I had to repeatedly unplug cables and plug them back in. I was going to keep it and give it another try but not sure I want to throw away $100 if it doesn’t work.

Great review. However, would like to see how it performs in an environment likely to actually kill your battery...ie. when it is -20 C or colder here in Canada. I have my doubts that this unit will turn over the truck when its that cold given it barely turned it over during this video.
Great video-Thanks! RE: Charging my NOCO GB40 battery. Battery charging indicators were NOT lighting up with the mini USB plugged in. I thought I was missing a charging mode button or if I needed to turn the power on to charge? I worked my way down the line...switched out the USB plug base to my white Apple plug...still no joy. Next, it had to be the 3 plug power strip...but it was already powering my computer and a fan, so after trying one of the other plugs it made positive contact and the charging lights came on. Went back to the original 3rd plug [wiggled it around a bit] and it continued to charge. The USB base must not have been making good contact inside the power strip plug but with some persistence I got it to work.
For people asking about how to charge it, you do it just like you charge your phone. You'll see a USB jack that says "USB in" with a micro USB plug. And yeah, charge it off your PC if you feel like it. If this thing doesn't work for you then either check to make sure your starter is working or exchange it for a new one. This thing is bananas. (If you live in a cold environment, your mileage might vary, but a healthy unit will start your car... just sayin) There are tear down videos for people that want to know how it works. It's pretty straight forward.
I still have the old school style in my garage. It is never charged when I need it, as its old and the battery is dying. I've been thinking about upgrading to this new style for awhile.
+Karl Steev I had nothing to loose or gain by this video so I will tell you it's a great product. I've been using one for awhile now. And it's never let us down. This is the first one I've owned personally though.
Nice video. Shows me I need a tripod. lol. I bought the Rockford lithium jumper from my Matco dealer about 2 years ago. It's okay... but has grown a little weak. They've only improved since then. Probably time for an upgrade. Thanks for the video.
Please reply about my question regarding GOOLOO GP200 model which is 10 bucks cheaper and about 9x the maH for charging external USB devices (NOCO 2050maH vs 18000maH GOOLOO GP200). Is Gooloo GP200 is better deal?
I must have a faulty one. I have the NoCo GB70 and it won’t even jump start a 16 HP Kohler on a triplex mower. It wouldn’t start a 16hp Briggs Vanguard either.
would have liked to have seen you use this without the boost override. Also, I thought you could hook it up to the battery and then turn it off BEFORE turning the key.......no?
is it best to keep it fully charge all the time or below full charge? I am trying to find the best way to keep it working longer. How long does this booster last in good working condition? is it time or boost times or charge times?
Thanks for this. PERFECT review, exactly what I needed to know to be sure this would do my big V6 4L Range Rover and the Mercruiser 5.7L V8 on my Searay boat. £99UKP here, well worth it! Sub'd
Prospective buyers should know that most all battery booster packs are made in China. As such I would not expect much customer service. NOCO is a US company and my GB40 was made in Vietnam.
Even with big engines, with over ride mode, looks like you charged up vehicles. There are some videos out there that say the GB 40 isn't strong enough, but they don't try over ride mode. Looks like your video is the more informed one. Liked.
Trust me bud , the noco is the real deal ! Some people do not read the book or even watch a video on it. I've own several of these , I buy them and use them and then give them away to family members I keep a gb150 in my car since I work for company who had alot of cars and trucks
Noco says, that the override button doesn't provide more power, it only disables safety functions, like polarity and stuff. The boost button isn't reliable for a better start, it's only function is to engage with a battery under 2V to my understanding of their promotion video.
@@jelly8594 The Noco GB is normally 1,000 Amps. But, here's from their website on the override mode: THIS MODE USES VERY HIGH CURRENT (FROM 400-4000 AMPS) THAT CAN CAUSE SPARKS AND HIGH HEAT IF NOT USED PROPERLY. IF YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT USING THIS MODE, DO NOT ATTEMPT AND SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP.
Build quality is awesome. Cables are heavy duty and even they have a rubber cover..some thought went into this product. Ironically charging your phone drains the battery faster than jumping multiple cars!
Hi, I just found that the model GB20 use a battery of 2150 mAh - 500 A, and the model GB40 use the same battery 2150 mAh but 1000 A ¿What does it mean? I tought 1000A would be twice the capacity of the battery of the GB20, but I guess I am wrong.

I bought one of this in the hope of jump starting my 2021 toyota hilux sr5, I connected all the clamps as instructed, turned the unit on and wait for the boost light to come on, then started the engine, engine turned over a little bit but unable to fully turn on, the noco then overheated and showed the exclamation light blinking, 2 bar s of battery already drained, I don't know what I did wrong, really need some help.
I have a Winplus bought from Costco. When my car battery is completely dead, I can't open the door with remote and disarm the alarm. As soon as I connect the Winplus to my dead car battery, the car alarm goes off and Winplus will get cutoff, presumably as a safety circuitry design feature, rendering Winplus useless. Have you ever encountered this with NOCO GB40?
Do you have to turn the power on while charging? If I turn the power off, then the charging indicator lights turn off and I can't determine if it's charging. Answer plz? Need it charged by morning!!
Just press borrow button when charging if green then it’s full, unplug it and turn it off, I usually charge it every few months or after using it a few times
Hi, I have two questions. You unit go to solid green and off all 25, 50 and 75% when fully charge? And what voltage do you read on bypass(manual overpass) when unit is fully charged? Thanks a lot.
NOCO GB 40 Didn't start my Honda 2.2 said it could start up to 3L however no luck here - was dead - the battery was at 5.7 volts and it was cold but not freezing - was not enough amps took my battery off the car and then charged overnight then put battery back on and car started - this device was not capable- I think it can start a battery with some drop in charge but not a depleted battery. I charged it all night then tried again in the morning with no battery straight to leads no start again .

(If you live in a cold environment, your mileage might vary, but a healthy unit will start your car... just sayin)
There are tear down videos for people that want to know how it works. It's pretty straight forward.
Can I charge it in a house outlet? using a USB adapter?
@@yeezuss1198
Yes. It charges pretty fast too. Also, It comes with a car lighter adapter so you can charge it while you drive around.
Can we start a car with no battery in it, or isn't that recommended to do?
Nice video. Shows me I need a tripod. lol. I bought the Rockford lithium jumper from my Matco dealer about 2 years ago. It's okay... but has grown a little weak. They've only improved since then. Probably time for an upgrade. Thanks for the video.
+RealTechReview yeah bro! This thing is tried tested and true otherwise I wouldn't have done the video.
Also, I thought you could hook it up to the battery and then turn it off BEFORE turning the key.......no?
i got one of these and had nothing but problems with it. It wont hold a charge and no response from Noco when contacted.
is it best to keep it fully charge all the time or below full charge? I am trying to find the best way to keep it working longer. How long does this booster last in good working condition? is it time or boost times or charge times?
Thanks for this. PERFECT review, exactly what I needed to know to be sure this would do my big V6 4L Range Rover and the Mercruiser 5.7L V8 on my Searay boat. £99UKP here, well worth it! Sub'd
Prospective buyers should know that most all battery booster packs are made in China. As such I would not expect much customer service. NOCO is a US company and my GB40 was made in Vietnam.
Is it suitable for jump start Maintenance free batteries
Seems this is really great device. Thanks for great review.
Thanks for this review! Going to get mine ASAP!
Can you charge the unit, through the USB port. My normal charging port is bad.
Great review 👍👍 short & sharp❤️❤️ thank you 🙏
Excellent review, everything about the booster pack was fully explained.
Can I leave it in the car in Canadian winters ?
I’ll probably use it more for usb charging than jump starting - how many phone charges can you get out it?
I bought one yesterday. When I connect the clamps properly to the battery of my car CRV 2010, the red solid light is illuminated. I made sure that the positions of clamps are correct, but It is stated that it needs to reverse polarity. Do you why? Please help me if you know how to fix it. Thanks.
Does it charge your battery or just jump start it?
this would have made my day if it would have said the "strap on review"!
the fob still works on a dead battery? my infinity and my cadi both stay locked if dead! in fact mine both flash a light and say "dumb ass" every time i try! idk what kinda cars u got brotha but mine stay locked!!
What knife did you use? I need one like this. Thanks dude
I love my unit. Works like a charm. Also handy to use as a battery for my iphone.
How long it will stay charged if we just keep it in a car for emergency battery jump?
Not sure, but I charged mine back in February and still has a full charge. I just boosted my car today with no problems.
Poor demo ! How did you charge it....? Was battery disconnected and you used 40 to start engine direct?
Do you have to turn the power on while charging? If I turn the power off, then the charging indicator lights turn off and I can't determine if it's charging. Answer plz? Need it charged by morning!!
Just press borrow button when charging if green then it’s full, unplug it and turn it off, I usually charge it every few months or after using it a few times
can you use it to charge the battery too or just to jump it ?
7000 joules what does meen? Same noco have 1000A not mentioned 7000 joules
Why didnt you want the alt to start to charge
Was it so you could try it a second time?
Hi, I have two questions. You unit go to solid green and off all 25, 50 and 75% when fully charge? And what voltage do you read on bypass(manual overpass) when unit is fully charged? Thanks a lot.
How long do you turn your car engine on for after you connect the jump starter to the car?
when i start the car do i have to press this button?
NOCO GB 40
Didn't start my Honda 2.2 said it could start up to 3L however no luck here - was dead - the battery was at 5.7 volts and it was cold but not freezing - was not enough amps took my battery off the car and then charged overnight then put battery back on and car started - this device was not capable- I think it can start a battery with some drop in charge but not a depleted battery. I charged it all night then tried again in the morning with no battery straight to leads no start again .
I just got one at full power it took 25% battery life to charge 40% of my iPhone 10xr
I can use this product for memory saver purpose?
No. You would need the GB70 for that.
I like this GB40
Small with a good power
Hello, how are you I like the battery can you tell me how much it will cost
Is that safe for 4 cylinder 2.0 engine on bmw ?
I just brought one watching this great review
Good video just bought one now thanks for helping me understand how it works ✌
Excellent video. I’m buying one tomorrow. Thanks. from Sweden
How much charge was left after the 2 jumps?
I thought you would show that battery is dead before using the jumper
Any idea how many phones or iPads it will charge before it dies?
Hey everyone, I tried the normal way today but it seems my battery is completely dead, there is warning over the override button, I just bought a Renault Megane 2004 1.6 is this not risky on these models?
