Now THAT's how you review a product! Let the product speak for itself by demonstrating it in action. And not only did you demonstrate it, but you put it to its limits in freezing weather. Awesome video.
Doing the review in the cold was a nice touch.
Thanks. It was a fair amount of work but turned out decent. Thanks for watching. JC.
How to Automotive i agree. Best review.
@@Volkswear what you think of Gooloo 4000 amp vs Noco 3000 amp? I wanna pick of those
Agreed! Starting in the cold can be more difficult.
Absolutely.
Keep your battery pack in the vehicle. Some people keep it in there home. It’s not going to do any good if it’s back at the house and you need the vehicle has a dead battery. Anyway if you can afford it replace your battery every four years. That’s about the life time of a car/truck battery. You can get it replaced at any local auto parts store or your mechanic can do it. It’s usually free installation at auto parts store and the battery price less. I’ve done this for over fifty five years and never had to jump start a vehicle. It’s a good idea to still have a pair of good quality jumper cables in case your battery pack is to weak or you forget to recharge it every few months. Make sure you buy a wire gauge of 2/4 and you don’t need twenty foot long cables. The smaller the number of gauge wire the better transfer of power from a good battery. It will say on the package or ask the auto parts guy. A bit more money for quality. Yes today’s batteries work hard with all the power we use in our vehicles. I recharge my battery every couple of months with my battery charger . You can buy a no maintenance battery. If you purchase a battery with caps you have to check the water in the cells. Always use distilled water if you have to add a bit to bring to the level line. Good luck happy driving.😁
@@arthursmith643 ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 Thanks so very much for taking the time to educate this ol' lady in Iowa!
@@arthursmith643 again, I am in your debt.. thank you so very much for the education! 🥰
I have one of these and they're truly great. Tiny packaging so you can store in in your vehicle.
Outstanding!!
Some say he's still jump starting cars to this day.
LMAO
Great comment. Thanks for the laugh. JC.
🤣🤣🤣
LMAO!!
XD
The most amazing thing is how that Isuzu turned into a VW! Thanks for the review!
Barton Brown was wondering if anyone else caught that...
Indeed!!
I looked twice and wondered as well
@@suziscissorhands Come on now. Hopefully any man older than a millennial would catch it
@Barton Brown I don't feel alone anymore.
After seeing your video, I went out and bought a GB 40. They were on sale at my local Canadian Tire store ! Thanks for your video. Cheers from Canada ! Polar Bear country ! !
This was the best review Ive seen! You didn't just talk about what it does or how it's supposed to work. You physically used it and on top of that all the vehicles were covered in snow.
If it'll jump 6 cars in the cold I'm positive I won't have to worry about my daughter being stranded down here in the hot south!
It rarely gets below freezing here.
I have a Stanley jump box but it's huge and heavy. Its fine for me since I have a toolbox to put it in but my daughter has a small car and this will fit perfectly.
I may even sell my Stanley and get me one of these.
Since I rarely drive my truck the battery is always dead. Every time I want to go somewhere in it I have to jump it.
Thanks for the great review!
I've had mine for 7 years, and it still holds a good charge. I've used it a few times to jump my own dead battery, so I'm figure it's paid for itself many times over. Highly recommend.
I agree with Shawn C. Great review, all around. Very likeable guy and right to the point in his presentation.
The exclamation button you pressed is used when the battery is really dead. Its a manual override for the unit.
I wasn't surprised ! It works well ! As ryusou points out , the ( ! ) is for a really dead battery !
Gave a jump to a stranger in a Rover Evoque. Had my jumper cables out when I remembered this gem in my ammo box. Best buy ever.
Mine came out of the box at 25% and I was able to jump my Jeep.
I love this product.
A VIEW IS A VIEW wow 🤙🏽
You must have strong legs to be able to jump a jeep.
It will not jumpstart a diesel tho,but even large gasoline trucks with no problem!
@@АлександърИванов-щ8ю I'm curious if it'll jump start a 455 or caddy 500.
Wanted to see atleast one 350 jump..
The Exclamation point, is the manual override if the GB40 can't detect the battery. This does remove some of the safety features with it so it's a mode only to use if needed. Otherwise in most cases the device will go right into boost mode.
Exclamation point is used all the time in my tow truck. Works great, doesn't hurt the unit at all. It's the only jump pack we use in our trucks
I own A NOCO GB40 myself and I'm very impressed with it. After watching this video I'm really glad i bought it know it can go to the extreme. Great video.
Alex Le how long can it hold a charge for?
I have gb70 couldn’t be happier only drawback not enough to start a diesels
@@michaellackie3756 yeah, it has, I just used mine yesterday to start a Toyota 2.2 diesel with a totally dead battery that didn't light the dash. Just leave it connected for 30 seconds or so before you crank. Sorry, gb70 also not a 40.
@@agalpalacio9157 even after 2 years it's still at 100%
I'm glad that I found your video. Pretty great results. Btw, is it just me or does that Isuzu have a VW emblem on it's grill?
You da man for going through all that just for us. Appreciate it. I'm a believer.
Thank You Sir. Glad you enjoyed it. JC.
I agree. He's the man for sure! i'm so happy with this video and this product!!
I was thinking about buying one (do they even work?), so I watched this video and one or two others. And ended up buying one. And it started my car when I needed it a short while later. Thanks!
Amazing. Really hard to believe such a small thing could perform so well. Heck even using another running car to jump a dead battery it often takes several minutes before you can get a car to crank like that does in seconds.
I’ve owned mine for over two years. This unit works great and has gotten me out of a few situations where the car wouldn’t start. I highly recommend the NOCO GB40
I got one for free ,but to start a 4 cylinder car I have to wait about 5 minutes, I think something it's wrong with it already.
WAOOW! Thanks sooo much for this! The snow was a definite win, ah mean starting in the snow is thee worst condition
Very impressed with the GB40. I have a GB150 that hasn't let me down yet. But, I have to say that as impressive as the GB40 was - those
Subaru's starting after all that time was just as impressive to me. I'm an American car guy, but I have always said that if I was to buy Japanese; it would be a Subaru. Thanks for the great video! 1st time watching your channel, but I enjoyed the honest review. And yes-I did subscribe and rang the bell!!!
I also have a GB40 & after watching your video/review, I’m glad I purchased it! It has countlessly jump started my Tahoe & other vehicles without a hitch! (Just as yours... completely dead batteries). ALWAYS is in my truck or whatever vehicle we take long trips in. 👍👍
I'd say if I had to boost my rig more then a couple of times, I'd be shopping for a battery, or charging system. I had car that I didn't drive much and waited a couple of months before I replaced the battery but these little things came in handy. Just don't forget to charge it at least a couple times a year.
Thanks getting one for my old tahoes and silverado
@@1980snafu Your Silverado a v6 or v8?
It's awesome, impressive. Good product as well as excellent presentation. You could become fantastic salesperson too.
Impressive! My 🚗 was totally dead. Pressed the boost button, started right up! I love this device!🌿

I have the NOCO GB30. I use it to jumpstart my project cars. I also bring it on my motorcycle camping trips to charge my cell phone and in case I need to jump start my bike. Highly recommend it.
ramblindoug I cant find gb 30 anywhere I thought pole were making gb30 up all I’m finding is gb20 gb 40 gb50 gb70 gb 150
Noco GB30 sucks
I have one that I bought over 2 years ago and It has saved me over 10 times and it still works great.
The real test would be to - store the charger in the car for a few days in the cold ( below freezing )and see if it jumps a battery . Since most people will store this in their car trunk.
That's a good idea. Your right.
Yea thats a great point, I work one week in one week out at a fly in camp in Canada, I bought a bigger dewalt charger that I left in back seat, after one week of sitting at -30c it would not start my Ram 1500. So i learned my lesson and bought this one, specifically so I could take up with me in my carry on bag. Im not going to take the chance of leaving it in the glove box in the middle of winter.
Actually, it is a bad idea. LiPo cells don't like the cold. I don't think this thing is made of supercaps.
@@nezinomasbepavardis3315
You're right I never thought about that.
I have a similar type of power source and have gotten 4 jumps out of it over the course of a day. I do not leave it in the car during the summer when it's hot. Haven't had an issue with the cold but these things are so compact you could easily carry it in a computer bag or pocketbook when leaving the car.
this video made me buy one, and it's worth it's weight in gold pressed latinum, if you're thinking about getting one you will not regret it, people that i've help can't believe such a little thing is so powerful 1.5-V8s this thing kicks over with no strain
The UFP welcomes our Ferengi friend! Now, about your docking fee ...
Excellent real world test, and in the cold, too. I’ve been on the fence for quite a while but I’m really impressed.
Check out a video on the OZ-CHARGE RESCUE MATE it doesn't need charging doesn't have an internal battery it gets its charge from the dregs of the battery its hooked up to...Amazing technology.
Kudos for your great video in cold, miserable weather on pretty gnarly vehicles. UPDATE: After five years I used it for real two days ago. It's been sitting in my trunk for the last couple of years without additional charging and it fired my 2012 Ford Fusion Hybrid right up. Freakin' awesome product.
Impressive review, I used my GB40 once successfully on a V8 with a weak battery, when the unit was 2 year old, not charged. It’s well engineered.
Thank you very much for this video! I loved that you tested the product in the cold. I'm a beginner driver and this looks like a great product to have for precautionary measures!
This continues to be the best test of this little gem gadget. I bought one right after I saw your video. Peace of mind in the glove compartment!! Thanks again!
This video should be NOCO's commercial on TV. I'm sold !
My Kia Sportage has been sitting in the cold for a week I forgot to start it up so the battery is dead .I order this jump starter after watching this gives me hop
Thing is junk wouldn’t jump my boat
Well then obviously it is junk because we all know that YOUR boat should jumpstart easily!
Thanks for the very cold-honest review. I just bought one thanks to you!
Tell us a better story like what happened to your nose
You should see the other guy he was fighting with he's in a coma rn
I bought the GB 50 based on your review. Have jumped 3 cars as a good samaritan and it worked perfectly every time!!! Great jump box.
I got the GB70 after watching my equipment installer use it on one of my vehicles and instantly starting the car. Much better than letting a battery charge up with jumper cables.
I was doing property maintenance at a hotel for the past 6 years or so, and that would usually involve helping people with flats in our parking lot, or dead batteries. Our boss bought us one of these and it came in handy constantly. We'd just make sure it was charged up and any time somebody needed a jump, just basically hit a button and send them on their way
I just watched another vid and it showed as one of the worstwhos right
+Volkswear That was the best jump pack video I've ever seen. You did a great job with both the video and audio! This was a real-world test in frigid temperatures and the NOCO was really impressive.
Can you please tell me more about your jacket? I'd like one for myself.
The coat I'm wearing is by Berne Apparel. Pretty good winter coat. I like the hood when it is windy and cold out. Thanks for watching. JC.
Theres another guy on RUclips that did a test on a bunch of starters and rated the GB40 low. I had already seen a number of reviews which raved about the GB40. So here I am confronted with two cars, a 4 cyl and a 6cyl, it was -5 during the night and it was still frosty. The GB40 just unplugged from charging as it was brand new the day before. Hooked it up to the 4, no problem. Hooked it to the 6 and nothing so I did a safety bypass and it started. I checked it after starting two really cold engines and it was still 100%. The best test is the practical application of the product and this video goes above and beyond. I highly recommend the GB 40. Its a solid jumper.
Impressive review of an incredible product. Do your studying on the 5 different NoCo models. Yours looked like 7,000 amps. where the GB 40 I ordered says in has 1,000 amps. I assume this will make a difference on charging properties.
I noticed that as well.. Did they change the models up or what..
I'm a believer after watching this video last night, I bought one today.
thank you so much. Knowing the air temp was really helpful too. I definitely bought this based on this video (and many other glowing recommendations online)
How in the hell did that little thing do all that I’m impressed
Brilliant! Thank you Big Dawwg. Keep on trucking!
I stopped the video half way through and bought one.
Wow start # 3 was impressive .... I just ordered the GB70 but wow that BG40 has some balls!!
I have the GB70. It seems at least once a week I have to boost one of our work trucks. Works great
Thinking of getting one of these. Cant get a better demo than that.Well done
Calgary always very cold . I didn't use my car 2 days. -- 28 degree. My car couldn't start. I tried a couple times, and the battery gone. I bought a jump start. It didn't work for me . I turned to this video. I founded out I didn't turn the jump start on to vehicle. I went back my car to try again. It work . Thank you for your video. I appreciate.
This is inspiring to watch someone be so confident around a variety of older vehicles in crummy condition. Gives me hope for myself and my old car! Thanks!
Ever wonder how some plastic box with a handful of flashlight batteries can start a car?! I think the batteries inside are 18630 Lithiums. Hell, a Tesla electric car is full of these same batteries! Scary thought!
I literally just bought this at Canadian Tire, We've had extreme temps for a month straight. Night time lows have been averaging -46 Celsius.. Day time highs are around -36, Friday and Saturday dipped down to -51 Celsius. My built in trickle charger somehow became disconnected on my last oil change, so Plugging it in all this time was doing nothing. So it would not start at all. I have a 2012 Dodge Journey V6 AWD. Battery is located by the drivers side tire. My buddy had an Eliminator power pack Hooked it up and started right up.... And right to the store and picked up the GB40 . Good deal they were on sale... Here's a video for the folks who own a Dodge Journey ruclips.net/video/0SMiItdA05w/видео.html
Like you I just lived through the month of "my gawd is that temp reading -50 Celcius!"....Yep Northern Ontario fun....so my Tacoma died in the process and it was 5 days of downtime for me...Tried a Napa Auto 400amp unit and it worked I'll give it that but it didn't start...It turned it over though for quite awhile but the problem was deeper so I'll give 100 percent credit to the NAPA unit. Regardless my friend has the GB40 and he got in on sale at Canadian Tire...He started 4 vehicles during the Deep Freeze. Myself I had to buy a new battery and change the plugs and hard wired a 2amp battery charger in the battery box.
I just bought an ABOX 1500A Peak Car Jump Starter from Amazon.ca to have as a backup though so....
Year 2022. I still got minus 6477777% let me go find another car to start! Lol. (I Bought one today as well.)
I have a Lexus rx and it would sit for a couple of weeks at the time or more the noco 50 has been brilliant I really don't know what I would have done with out it because the Lexus rx has a 6 cylinder 304 bhp engine 'no problem s what so ever it starts the vehicle first time every time a fantastic product stevie
I've had a couple different portable jump starters, but they all died after about 2 years. Maybe in a year or so you could do a follow up to this device.
danny mcelvain Thats not a bad idea. January 2019 will be 2 years. If you don't see a video remind me and I'll try and do another video then. I did use this same jump box yesterday to jump a car and it worked great. JC.

Jason L.E just got one yesterday, then this popped up.
Let's do a review on the same unit after two years
Thanks for this review. I was looking for something that showed its functionality in cold weather. I really appreciate no frills review. Thanks again
I have a WeeGo which looks exactly like yours and I too have had similar results but the biggest test was at Disney we powered 4 phones all day and you know how many pictures and checking lines length etc you do and every phone ran at 100% ALL day!! I too am amazed at how long these things hold a charge! Great Video!!
i always read red (+/positive) should be connected first and then black, not black first. And black disconnected first and then red. This device probably has some safety features against shorting but still. Not talking about reverse polarity but shorting danger if you drop red or touch the car with red after you connected black. Does the built in safety prevent that ?
I have bought 5 of these devices (all different brands/models/amp rating) , 3 of them for friends. From 450 to 900 amps.
We are amazed and enjoy amazing other people with them.
Thanks for the review but on their website it says it can jump up to 20. Should put up to 10
25% of 7000 Joules = 1750 Joules. Impressed with the marketing guy who put that on the box (big numbers sell better).
The Healthcare stimulus ad on here is a scam. DO NOT GO SIGN UP.
Excellent un-biased opinion & evaluation on this product, thank you! I bet it could have started at least two more cars! What really startled me is the severity of the cold weather you tested it in & that it performed so frickin' well! I will also look into there more powerful units as well.
Thank You. Glad you enjoyed the video. JC.
@@Volkswear fingers crossed I am about to try & start a Renault Master using the GB50. We had no success with a lower unit (not Noco G40 as they had no stock), the battery just got flatter & now wont even try to turn over.

I have the same make GB70 jump starter since 2015. It never failed me whenever I needed it in emergency in the bitter cold of Calgary.
I've been using mine for the last week without a recharge and was wondering how many jumps it was good for. I'm impressed as well considering some of the crappy reviews I've seen on it.
If it is left in very cold weather in the glove box, it will perform poorly.

Great video. When using this booster, turn the engine over for 3-5 seconds. If it doesn't start wait about a minute and try again. This prevents the booster from draining down so quickly and gives the battery a chance to charge a little. The lights will scroll back in forth if the unit can detect the battery. I think the battery has to have a least 2-5 volts in order for it to detect it. That's why the lights didn't scroll on the completely dead batteries. Once you press that override button it allows the unit to act like straight jumper cables (Disables all safeties and limitations (Cables will spark if touched together in this mode) ). Some of the comments below mention that the unit drains when store in their vehicle during winter months. I store mine in a small case that is kept in my SUV all the time. I charge it maybe every 4-6 weeks during the winter to keep it fully charged.
great review thanks
I ordered the GB40 yesterday, arrived at 4:27a today. I'm charging it now. Is yours still going?
