So... about three years ago, I watched your review and I bought three units for my old man, my little sister, and myself because of you and based on your review. Dad and sister still have ‘em. Mine was stolen and I got another GB40, the new version. Your box has been used, I assume, hundred times more than my dad’s and the damn thing still works. What else is there to be said? 🤷🏻♂️ We loved it and still do, and as you suggested, we never took another trip without it. I don’t care what people say about your review or GB40; those are dumasses with a lot of time on their hands; my dad and I remembered you and thanked you every time we needed to use this for ourselves, our neighbors or someone on the side of the road (happens a lot here in Oklahoma). God bless ya my man! God bless you!
Thanks so much for doing the videos on this GB40. Like other people, i wanted to get a sense of how this thing performed over a number of years and you have done just that. Thanks for the honest, straight forward reviews.
I counted it started the truck 22 times. 18 times the first time 4 on the second try. I purchased the Noco BG70 a few years ago & never had to use it until this winter in Canada that was -40 celsius below. I had two coworkers that need and asked me for a boost off my vehicle. I grabbed my BG 70 without charging in between vehicles and started both no problem a week apart. This was in November of 2022 Alberta Canada was in a deep freeze cold. One night that same week i came out of work after 5 hours of sitting outside at -40 my vehicle did not start as well i jumped mine as well a few days after coworkers vehicles. It as well started mine no problem. That is 3 jumps off my BG 70 and its still at 100% charged. I will always have one of these in my vehicle & recommend ever one have one of these in there vehicle. I have an AMA membership which i could phoned for a boost but would have been 24 hours before they got there. I to have nothing to gain from my commit i work in a restaurant as a cook. I have no dealings with Noco brand other that i own one of there products. Last but least both coworkers bought a Noco GB70 because they saw how mine worked. In Canada we have Canadian Tire which is where i got mine from. For those that doubt how good these products are you can wait for a tow truck as i would not help out anyone that i came to help that criticized the product. No problem wait for the tow truck have fun wait at -40.
Excellent original video w/o editing! I counted 10+ startups. Now I am convinced that NOCO GB40 is arguably the most rugged and reliable jump start power bank on the market today.
I just got one of these this evening for Christmas. I got the GB40. The build quality and packaging are Apple level quality. I couldn't be happier with the quality and the feel of it. I will try to start a long-dead vehicle tomorrow morning at about 12F. I cannot wait.
I really appreciate you taking time to demonstrate the product after 3 years . I was skeptical about this product earlier seeing reviews . Now I will definitely go for it . Thank you thank you thank you
thank you for that impressive hardcore testing of that device. It's definetly one of the best jump starters. I ordered one. Go ahead with such good videos and take care, man!
I just bought one of these this week cause we’ve had quite the cold front in Alberta last week hittin -40 deg C pretty stoked on it after watching this! Nice work!
I've had mine for more than 4 years I keep it in my truck and occasionally charge it. It has been a life saver for me and other people that I have helped get their cars or truck started . Even used at work to start up the company 6.0l Chevy vans.
I must say! What a good informative video. For a V6 and 4 cylinder vehicles this unit is great. Im in process of researching for one of my friends who got this particular unit from his dad for a 2004 Ford F150. Thus seeing your other video on trying to start you Chevy Truck that was sitting for quite some time affirmed that this unit might not be strong enough for a V8 which I can really affirm this load test was true and to the point. Thank you so much, this kinda testing is really valuable and Companies like Noco really need the proper feedback on what there products are capable of doing. And for those who do nothing than hate on things like this really have nothing to say at all. shame on them...My Congratulations to you - with a solid handshake.
I bought a GB-70 in the fall of ‘22. I’ve never used it on my own vehicles, but I’ve jumped at least 10 vehicles belonging to friends, neighbours, and strangers - V8’s and in-line 4’s - both gasoline and diesel, and it’s performed flawlessly. Perhaps NOCO’s had production issues, or maybe buyers have done something wrong, or abused their jump boxes, maybe I just got lucky. Is it possible owners simply failed to bypass the ‘safety mode’ to jump an extremely flat battery? Like many, I too often skip the instruction manual. I think it’s a good product.
The Nokio gb70 is awesome I had it over a year nothing negative to say about it one of the best jump starters I've ever owned and I've owned many been doing mechanic work on my life awesome jump box never fail to impress me
I was surprised you said that people "love to hate" the NORCO GB40. When I was in the market for a battery charger I looked around the internet and saw only good things about the NORCO. I saw your old video and was sold. I now have one and keep it in my car for emergencies.
I've had good experiences with the GB40. Not only starting my suv, but other suv's in the fleet of vehicles at my job. I can't speak for big trucks and diesel vehicles, but regular suv's and cars.....this works great!
I agree with you, the NOCO 40 has save my bacon numerous times over the 4 years I have had mine. Never let me down. Only time it did not work was with what turned out to be a frozen battery.
THATS ONE OF THE BEST TEST I HAVE SEEN ! i dont drive anymore but i am buying one for my wife ...wow tested in winter even the box was cold? they sell at Canadian tire $149.00...THANKS Volkswear.. YOU SHOULD PACE YOURSELF WHEN YOU SHOVEL not good for the heart .. i am 76 years old so i should know
This is a great little booster …I started my mother in laws car this morning..it had a totally drained battery but the booster started it up straight away . I think the GB40 is good for small to medium sized cars ..perhaps for larger vehicles the GB 70 is the better option .
I honestly love this box because of how portable and handy that it is. Kept me from being stranded at least a couple of times between awkward situations and finally heavy storms when I only waited on a break in the storm to quickly attach the cables and 5 minutes I was fired over after hooking up the cables in a cheaply maintained duty truck...lol...My only beef was with the cables (I purchased mine back in May of 2020 from Amazon); but NOCO sells the heavier set that you have on this video for like $38 that I'm seriously considering to speed up the process; otherwise it takes between 15 and 25 minutes to jump start a cold truck.
Yeah great job ive got a noco 50 and a Lexus rx 3.5 306 bhp and the noco never misses this is a v6 engine 'it makes starting your vehicle so easy 'a brilliant product Stevie
Just ordered one for my electric Hyundai Ioniq 5(p45). It’s a brand new car, but unfortunately not without bugs. 12v failure is a common el car trouble. The 25th of December 2021, my 12v battery was down to 4,90v. I think this device would be a lifesaver. There is no high ampere demand from an electric car, but I guess it could need as much as 50A at the most to get up and running. I hope and assume the GB40 will be a great tool for my needs years to come. Thanx for the video, happy new year!
I've got the bigger one and it's been sitting in the truck through winter/summer and in temps from -40C to 42C and I've never needed to use it on my personal truck but I have used it on countless stranded strangers that I got on their way with it. I think most complaints come from people who don't read the instructions. I'm curious about its life span because everything dies at some point. Good vid.
I just used one for the first time on my lawn mower battery. I was confused at first but I had to use the manual overload which turns off the safety but allows more of a discharge for jumps.
We have one at work and we had totally dead dump truck and 70° day and this thing on boost started it better then fully charged battery I was completely impressed. Actually never seen anything like it before. I just got cheaper one for Christmas so we'll see how that compares.
Have one, different brand, works great. Also have a JNC660 that did 2 starts on my Ram 5.9 Cummins and I use when neighbors need a jump.I love those things,no danger of damage jump starting someones unknown vehicle too.
Very cool. I have a miata taking up space in my garage. I accidentally let the AGM battery run out and it no longer starts. It's off the road for a couple of years and I just need something to start it and move it up and down the driveway occasionally when I need space in the garage for projects. Seems like this would be a great alternative to wasting money on a battery that might not hold a charge by the time I register the car again.
really wanted to like this product, tried starting my 2.4ltr volvo and after about 3 tries the box went flat, went to re-charge it and tried again, same thing, returning it today and will look for something more heavy duty I guess...
I have a GB20, one of the first models made by noco which is at least 5 years old. I use mostly in the winter when the temperature drops below 40 degrees to start my 1999 mazda protege. The battery is weak but still holds a charge and once started is good for the day. I know, its probably time to get a new battery !
I'm researching jump boxes, and have narrowed it down to NOCO. Videos like yours, has convinced me, that NOCO is the best choice. I'm going for the GBX55 for my 2015 3.6 Subaru Outback. It's overkill for it, but I want something that I can use to help others, who might have larger engines. As far as back charging, it's hilarious... As for all the hate for NOCO, I think it's more operator error, and just down right trolling.
Noco makes insanely good products. The GB40 is an amazing product that I’ve personally gotten dozens of jumps out of on many different vehicles. I can’t even imagine how well the larger GB70 works. Not to mention the GB500 which is honestly just a monster.
Tuanks for the video. I just ordered a couple of these GB40 for $60 each on Amazon Prime Day. I had a 93 RS, now have a '02 Rodeo. You've got a new subsciber!
I recently bought myself a new NOCO GB70. I am enjoying it. I wish I could have found a GB150 locally but nobody stocks them. The GB70 isn’t big enough to crank over my Duramax. Thanks for watching. JC.
These DO NOT recharge themselves through the cables like a capacitor jump starter. I wish more people would educate themselves on things before they post incorrect information.
I just ordered one, my shumacher of 10 years have finally lost it's ability to juice up. Had another cheap lithium one die on me or wasn't powerful enough to charge v6, finally purchased the gb40 for back up. We'll see how long it last.
I watched a video on this very same booster and the guy who owned an impound started 6 cars in a row (both V-6s and V-8s and still showed 25% power. The people who gripe about theirs must not have given theirs the full initial charge when the received it. I bought one for my wifes Maxima and although we haven't had to use it on hers it has easily started every vehicle we've used it on.
Using my GB40 to postpone the starter replacement on MY Isuzu trooper lol ($350 bc they have to remove the exhaust)😆 working great so far and thanks for the vid !
Hi guys. I live In the UK and I've just bought a brand new NOCO GB50. I've also bought the NOCO carrying case for the booster as well. So If and when the GB50 Is needed I'll post on here to let you know how the unit performs on Its first test. This Is my first ever booster unit In over 40 years of driving and I'm feeling quite confident that the GB50 will start my 2020 small engined 1ltr TSi Seat Leon should It ever fail to start 😎
Amazing. There must have been at least one frozen battery in all those tests you did on both videos.. The clamps on your GB40 are more robust than the ones that came with my Eliminator 700A unit.
They do not charge in reverse through the cables. Their diodes in there to prevent that the batteries would never stand to be charged @. Just the alternator puts out. Also, the battery pack inside is so small. You wouldn't believe it's about half. The size of a lantern battery 6 full letter, but it is 2150 milliamps. It's very small.
Not only am I a tech but a woman and have sold these to dozens of woman but men as well. Turn around time for AAA or tow can be more than 2 1/2 hrs or more. I have been called to recue and in 30minutes they are home already. Why wait in the dark for 5mins if you have this set up is less than 60 sec ( connect. cable, turn on flash light, press button to jump) wait 60 secs your in car start ignition. You have light, you have power and you can also charge mobile device. * sometimes you need a NEW battery and this will get you jump and on your way to a safe place in most cases. Its about getting out of where your at as QUICKLY as possible to a safer well lite well travel several people around place. I bring this every time and avoid the risk of damage to my BMW I have only hade on instance that it would not jump in 30 mins. And I had to use jumper cable and another vehicle in one year. I also fully recharge after every use so I never have seen how many charges before it dies. As a woman Don't want to take the risk that its me on the side of the road when it dies. thanks allot this was helpful. I seen it bee a LIFE saver for men and woman. I saved a bakers business on the way to deliver wedding cake and Mercedes broke down told 4 hrs for AAA already waiting for 2. Called me said she didn't trust getting a jump form someone on the side of the road. I got there and NOCO GB40 Boost Plus save her $1500 and she made her Delivery . So I say #NOCO #GB40 #womancanjumpacar #nocarDamage. You cant do this wrong it wont let you. SO some people may hate on it but it has more than proven itself Worth it to us?🥰🥰
I would like some info from actual owners on how it goes on a 3 litre diesel such as the Toyota 1KZ or IKD (D4D). I know they say 'up to 3 Litre Diesel' but I'm always skeptical when my intended use is at the upper end of the manufacturers advertised range. You never know if that range leaves some wiggle room, or it its optimistic.
Thanks for the info, I got this 2 years ago from your original review. Was thinking of getting the newer one now since I got a v8 hemi vehicle now as well. Waiting on the next reviews
Excellent!! The way you tube review videos should be done!! Some day in a few hundred years time (if the human race still exists) a box that size will power your vehicle for 10,000 miles without having to change it or charge it.
No, you left that box outside in the cold all night. You'll have to take it inside and let it warm up. Otherwise that trouble light will come on and ittle bit charged until the lifts and batteries brought up till about forty degrees
Comment on the gb40 I've done that same test on a 5 L Ford and got 27 starts out of the gv40 before it was finished and yes it does overheat there's overheat sensor to keep the battery from overheating and it will be restored when it cools off I think I got something like 15 starts it overheated I got about 10 more that I got about three more out of the next overheat session
Dante 880 is just saying that you could take the battery out of the vehicle and get it nice and warm inside. Then after about a day or so inside the house, hook up the Noco charger to it to drain and Recharge. The Noco will get the most charge into the battery as much as it will be allowed by the shape of the cells in the used battery. If the battery cells are good, then the charge should get closer to 100 %.
Maybe it's just the lighting, but I don't see the bars lighting up . Also if the small white light doesn't come on , your supposed to hit the boost button.
Why did you think we would enjoy watching you shovel out your truck ? I bailed after 2 minutes. I wanted to learn about the NOCO not how to clean off a truck.
It does all jump units well must of them inside or built in the clamps that have big chunky lil black box there’s the circuit treat to do the job including preventing the battery of any car to charge the unit
Glad it works for you. Mine is less than 18 months old and will no longer charge to even 75%. Glad I kept my crappy, heavy backup from 2007 that still works. Guess I got a lemon.
I hope your sponsor NOCO Page you well because taking your battery killing it intentionally just ruined it Even if it's only a little it's definitely not good for Lead acid batteries.… But it does seem you did your best for authentic I appreciate that. Stay safe and stay well
That's crazy I was just looking for reviews and found both lol nice thanks it looked legit to me by the way so as a you tube creator I feel your pain! Lol
Our shop has a gb150. It is flat-out the best jump box ever. I paid twice as much and they only lasted maybe two years. Before the battery went dead inside are they broke to pieces. These are good. I hoping never sacrifice the quality to keep them cheap
"Everyone loves to hate"? I bought the Noco GB40 cause it seemed like the most popular and reliable jump box... considering you jump started 6 cars, that were dead for over a year, with one charge. I just got one and it has a one year warranty, so as long as it works when I need it to, I've got no complaints
Loving or hating it depends on the battery inside. These ar mass produced cells and sometimes there are some lemons or even a full lot of them doesn't work.
Something you didn't mention or if you did I missed it was the GB40 left in the vehicle all night?? I have a GB30, personally I don't like it but it does work, but not as good as my DeWalt. Personally I do like the Genius Battery Tender Products.

I live in Alberta. This thing cranked a dead battery in -38 degrees lmao. No joke!
Thank you for being of service and for helping to see what this product was capable of. God bless you, your family and your furry family🙏

Great Little Demos! It's An Impressive Tutorial! Thank You!
Great video reviews. I purchased a new one based on your reviews. Thanks for your help.
My gb40 has never let me down. Who cares what people hate, it works for me. They didnt pay for it lol. I have the updated gb40. Great unit
I’m guessing u read all the comments and u are always listening to people who comment, I got something to say very good video my friend
Thank You. JC.
@@Volkswear just being honest
Great review, keep it up!
Jump started my ve after nine months first time.Impressive.
ive got one of these but never needed to use it on my own car but its been used many times helping out other people
really wanted to like this product, tried starting my 2.4ltr volvo and after about 3 tries the box went flat, went to re-charge it and tried again, same thing, returning it today and will look for something more heavy duty I guess...
Project farm has a good video on the big NOCO the thing is a beast
Yea they have large ones that can jump literal army tanks
I used it to crank over a 1937 Galion Roadgrader in 15 degree temps. Those naysayers just be wholes.
Tuanks for the video. I just ordered a couple of these GB40 for $60 each on Amazon Prime Day. I had a 93 RS, now have a '02 Rodeo. You've got a new subsciber!
Joseph - A GB40 costs $120.oo in Canada [Great White North] if you can find a place that sells them.
Great video #noco give this man a bigger box
I recently bought myself a new NOCO GB70. I am enjoying it. I wish I could have found a GB150 locally but nobody stocks them. The GB70 isn’t big enough to crank over my Duramax. Thanks for watching. JC.
I think each time you start engine..it makes engine roll over easier & pulls less. Juice from pb40
Many thanks for the great review! :-)
Good stuff. Thanks for doing this. I'm convinced.
Thanks for watching. JC.
These DO NOT recharge themselves through the cables like a capacitor jump starter. I wish more people would educate themselves on things before they post incorrect information.
What is all that white sandy looking stuff?,,😮,,so Calif Girl here asking?
Thanks man. Wow what snow! I haven’t seen that much snow since Ohio!
My guy...get a snowblower to get those drifts out your way. LOL. Great review on a great product. Wont leave the house without it.
Three years ago he left the noco hb40 outside and still shovelling snow to find it. 😂😂
you know... the instruction sheet says not to attempt more than 5 starts in 15 minutes... glad I bought one of these.
Great video . I think If it can cool down between each jump it will work even better.
Nils. Sweden
Good job young fella, keep it up!
You have light, you have power and you can also charge mobile device.

sometimes you need a NEW battery and this will get you jump and on your way to a safe place in most cases.
In 70° weather, I've got a 150 Ford Van with a 5 l. I've got twenty seven starts are the g b forty
I have GB50 for a diesel 2.0 motor. I am still wondering how a Li-Ion can deliver so much power.
The newer models are not called “genius” anymore. The reviews are overwhelmingly positive on Amazon.
You can cahnge the battery inside Noco and it will be a new one! :)
Dani Vive la Vida make a video of that.😱👍🏼
Dante 880 is just saying that you could take the battery out of the vehicle and get it nice and warm inside. Then after about a day or so inside the house, hook up the Noco charger to it to drain and Recharge. The Noco will get the most charge into the battery as much as it will be allowed by the shape of the cells in the used battery. If the battery cells are good, then the charge should get closer to 100 %.
A nice product for the money. Thank you for the video.
Maybe it's just the lighting, but I don't see the bars lighting up . Also if the small white light doesn't come on , your supposed to hit the boost button.
Snow? Today we´ve got a sunny day with 59°F in northern Germany. Way too warm for a day in January.
Careful what you wish for. Next week you could be under 2 or 3 feet of snow. Thanks for watching. JC.
Bought 1 bc of this Chanel. Prob get 2 more
Купил GB 50 litium на 1.9 tdi , теперь с утра спокойно пью кофе, и не думаю как заводить)
Why did you think we would enjoy watching you shovel out your truck ? I bailed after 2 minutes. I wanted to learn about the NOCO not how to clean off a truck.
Once the engine is Cranked over the use of the GB40 has done it's Job. Because now the engine is reliant upon the alternator.
it should have diodes in it to prevent it from charging through the battery clamps
It does all jump units well must of them inside or built in the clamps that have big chunky lil black box there’s the circuit treat to do the job including preventing the battery of any car to charge the unit
it's the best, have had one for 5 years.
Can a GB 40 be used to jumpstart a lawn tractor? Can you re-charge the GB 40 from a USB port from inside your house?
Yes sir you can
Glad it works for you. Mine is less than 18 months old and will no longer charge to even 75%. Glad I kept my crappy, heavy backup from 2007 that still works. Guess I got a lemon.
You should have paid for the 3 year or 5 year Insurance policy. They would have replaced it for another one.
@@ralphborroel5684
Insurance for a Tool??😂
I hope your sponsor NOCO Page you well because taking your battery killing it intentionally just ruined it Even if it's only a little it's definitely not good for Lead acid batteries.… But it does seem you did your best for authentic I appreciate that. Stay safe and stay well
Great video was looking to get a new booster i see these in the stores did know how good they are thanks
That's crazy I was just looking for reviews and found both lol nice thanks it looked legit to me by the way so as a you tube creator I feel your pain! Lol
18 times for the first tried.
Can't beat that. Just ordered me 2 of these units from Amazon.
Our shop has a gb150. It is flat-out the best jump box ever. I paid twice as much and they only lasted maybe two years. Before the battery went dead inside are they broke to pieces. These are good. I hoping never sacrifice the quality to keep them cheap
Ignore negative comments, there will always be haters, nothing you can do to stop them. I like my GB40
First thing I would do is get the heck out'a there and move to Florida.
Stay out of the south lol
Stop voting Democrat
We’re Full...
Most of the naysayers aren't using it properly, as in many never use the override button. I have had no problems or issues with the GB40
Something you didn't mention or if you did I missed it was the GB40 left in the vehicle all night??
I have a GB30, personally I don't like it but it does work, but not as good as my DeWalt.
Personally I do like the Genius Battery Tender Products.
I think I mentioned it but yes it was left inside the Trooper overnight. JC.
Thanks man like your video. I have one just like it and I like mine
